I teach in a university English department and The Chair is brilliant, nails every issue with wit and nuance. The writing and the acting are brilliant.
When she said, “I drink,” I fully expected Stephen to reach under the desk and pull out the bourbon.
Totally. :)
Janitor must have moved it

I love how she laughs.
Some people laugh with just their mouths.
With Some people the laugh reaches their eyes.
But Ms. Peet, Her whole body gets involved.
The whole body laugh, like Jimmy Fallon's, isn't real to me at all. She's prettier when she isn't showing us her tonsils--not lady like or genuine, just hamming.
@@maryschmidt6128 you are probably right that it's fake. Actors spend so much time in the limelight that everything becomes fake. But I still like it. Can't even say why. It's certainly not sexy or anything like that.
So a laughgasm?
Nerves
Amanda Peet and Sarah Paulson in Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip were just 😘👌😘👌😘👌😘👌😘👌😘👌 together!! As were Bradley Whitford and Matthew Perry. I'm still so mad they cancelled it after the first season!!
I knew I'd find someone making this comment! Can't agree more! Studio 60 was amazing, and she was incredible as Jordan McDeere!
Sarah Paulson is a queen!
Amanda Peet so pleasant beautiful and genuine really got Stephen a bit buzzed
I loved the show Jack & Jill that introduced me to Amanda Peet, Sarah Paulson, and others that I still enjoy seeing in things because it makes me think of that show. So glad to see Amanda with a show that sounds fantastic. She is funny and delightful and hopefully we see more from her.
Amanda Peetis a legend I love her and I'm going to watch the whole nine yards today.
If she is a legand, what is Humphrey Bogart.
@@spacecoyote6646
Some actor guy from the 40’s who had 4 wives in 20 years, smoke and drank too much, and died from mouth cancer. Apparently he was the best Hollywood could get back then?
I always loved Amanda. She is so fun. One of the best guest of Craig Ferguson.
Miss his show so much!
Internal Medicine? 😂🤣
(..dang it, you stole my ..eehh...mind!..)😒....But....Yes..Yes ...and a BIG YES! Sweet!! 👍
@@llydrsn So all the work in doors lol
@@berkc06 "That's a really good one!"

I love it when Stephen's love for his guests makes its way on the screen. You can tell he enjoys having her on and that he likes her as a person. He lights up in a very special way. Just makes you love him even more. 😎
How can you not love Amanda Peet?!
Jack & Jill is all I have to say! Her and Sarah Paulson will always be in that show in my mind! I love their lifetime friendship! I love her personality!
This was the cutest interview. I'm so glad he had her on again and should have her more. She's funny with just a hint of nerviousness.
Watch her interviews with Craig Ferguson.
I just watched the Chair and it was such a fun unique show setup in university giving voice to young, middle and the old. can't wait for season 2 and hoping for longer episodes. Also she was phenomenal in Dirty John 2: the Betty Broderick story. should have gotten the Emmy nomination for it.
I didn't think about the fact that it creates stars out of all age groups but it does and that is remarkable
Steve: How do you handke it?
Amanda: "I drink".
Plain and straight and had me laughing out loud! Awesome.
I just finished Dirty John: Betty Broderick and she was stellar in that. She's amazing!
Super charming & modest. Can’t wait to check out Sandra Oh in The Chair!
"The Chair" is soooo good. I was waiting for a new series I could get excited about and it's here!
I've had a crush on this woman for two decades. She's still so goddamn pretty, it's honestly ridiculous lol smh
I think we all did, and looks like our Stephen still didn't grow out of it ;)
She was one of David Letterman's favorite guests back in the day...he adored her! I wouldn't be surprised if he was watching this interview with a big, wish-I-was-Stephen-right-now smile on his face. 🧡
then you have to watch her on craig ferguson, since then i adore her
I wonder why Letterman himself has never been in the show, I mean he's been to other shows after he retired
@BP He literally has a show on Netflix.
She's looked exactly the same for the last 20 years.
Right!? I wish I still looked that good, but alas, medical care in the US is awful, unless you're wealthy.
Perhaps there's a rapidly decaying picture of her in her attic? I never would have thought she was 50. I'm jealous. 🤯🖖
@@jaelynn7575 why do you need medical care to look good and take care of yourself?
True
@@thinkforyourself828 Wealth definitely helps.
I love Amanda Peet! Followed her career. She’s great, talented, and yes...her laugh is so contagious!!!!
A lovely endearing person. I was so excited to see The Chair because of Sandra Oh but now that I know Amanda created it I will definitely be watching.
"I drink" 7:55
Stehpen, you've found your kindred _spirit,_ 'scuse the pun.
Amazing I saw her 20 years ago in that movie saving Silverman and she looks exactly the same what a knockout!
One of my favorite movies
So intelligent, sweet, and gorgeous! I left out witty!!
Lovely she is! Watched her perform live ages ago - 'Barefoot in the Park' on Broadway. And she was sensational as Betty Broderick in 'Dirty John' last year. I was expecting at least some nominations for her performance.
Oh Amanda Peet. Lovely woman
She's gorgeous. I've had a crush on her since Saving Silverman.
Thank you for talking about impostor syndrome!! I'm so glad when I hear I'm not alone from such talented people. Looking forward to watching The Chair!!
The real creative people always think their creations suck. They are always striving for perfection!😁
Really? So I don't suck? But if I don't think I do anymore, does that mean I was right the first time?
She’s freaking delightful bring her back more often!!!
Amanda Peet?
I click.
I like.
👍
Shes got a stunning smile
Amanda Peet has always been my Celebrity Crush...and when I told people, they always said "Who?"
i just heard about her this interview, but she seems delightful.
What??? Who are these people? LOL. You made a terrific choice. She's lovely!
Shout out to the comments. I thought I would've been alone in my love for Amanda but no, pleasantly surprised! She's fantastic! The show looks hilarious! Also, cast her as Allison Williams' sister from now on.
Absolutely loved her stint on Craig Fergusons Late Late Show years ago ...(which is available online, just search for her compilation)
Craig Ferguson loved interviewing Amanda Peet, she’s like the social hand grenade of celebs (in a good way). She’s hilarious on Brockmire!
gosh, how i've missed her! so glad she's back, and with her own SERIES. go go go amanda peet!
Amanda says “...and you have such a GREAT staff!” to Stephen before breaking. Love it.
She looks amazing for 50.
She looks amazing.
Couldn't believe it when she said it, amazing. Hoping I look as good as she does when I'm 50
@@nahuelma97 yeah me neither. I was shocked. I think it's due to celebrity life. She cam afford healthy food. Hehehehe
She looks amazing for being human! Love her!!
The Chair was brilliant LOL. Sandra Oh is amazing(again). And Holland Taylor…🔥❤️
Wow, I just love her. Thanks for having her on the show.
"Amanda Peet Got Sarah Paulson To Slide Into Sandra Oh's DM's" sounds like a pre-improv vocal exercise...
BEEN WAITING ALL DAY FOR THISSS
Does anyone remember Amanda in the series Jack and Jill. She was great in that.
One of the best actress imo! 🔥 love her work
she's so sweet and lovely and cute...awww
I LOVE her laugh!
I love that she didn't know the 'sliding into DMs' was an expression! I wish I didn't know so much social media lingo...
I am obsessed with The Chair !!
She’s so awkward. Love it!
💗💗💗 A Lot Like Love with Amanda Peet and Ashton Kutcher is a cute, fun movie!
The chair was fantastic!
Amanda Peet is lovely! Very happy for her! 😀
So glad to see more Amanda Peet!!
Awesome Lady !
10/10 use of a connection from Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.
Great that she's kept her hair long and mussed!
LOVE IT!
The most beautiful woman in movies.
No way in hell that woman is 50! She looks like 30! She's awesome! :D This was fun, I wish these was longer, always too short! :D
42 tops!!!
No she looks like she is 50. 50 is not decrepit. She has looked after her self has used good skin care and eaten good food. Lots of 50 year olds look like this.
@@dianeshelton9592 lots...
@@dianeshelton9592 Well, yes, she is 50 so yes she does 'look 50' but she also looks younger than 50.
@@OzzieTheHead yep lots
Shes in Somethings Gotta Give with Jack and Diane Keaton. So funny
Holland Taylor is our greatest national treasure.
I’ve always loved Amanda Peet. Great she’s developed a new project.
She always had a good sense of humor, she's sorta the human adult version of Babs Bunny
Such a weird reference!😂 But brought back a flood of memories of that show
That's an oddly good comparison
omg i love her and sarah 😂💗
I just finished “The Chair”, it is BRILLIANT! Amanda Peet, you are brilliant!
Amanda Peet... I love her beautiful eyes! How I have missed them!
She still looks like a toothpaste spokesperson. Absolutely beautiful, and that laugh is just charmingly infectious.
Yay! Love Sandra's work, and I need something to binge on that isn't food...
She's so adorable:)
We all get that imposter thing... because we know every little mistake we make.
The key is never letting THEM know, too.
Ok Pammeloon
@New Message - That's one thing that a lot of creative people tend to do, immediately point out the flaws and mistakes in their work, whereas most people probably wouldn't notice them.
@@richwojehowski1123 True. Creative people have greater awareness of the fine details of what they are trying to achieve. Being self critical is vital for creative people. To have awareness of how they could have improved something is how they get better at their craft. Unless, of course, the self criticism becomes so extreme its crippling. Its a fine balance. The people who are convinced they are exceptional singers on T.V. talent shows, but....need a bit of work (!!!!) are examples of why the ability to constructively self criticize is important!
Two lovely people.
Colbert is *such* a charming interviewer. Makes everyone welcome and look and sound terrific. Even some guests I didn't think I was interested in hearing from. (This is not a dig at Amanda Peet, just a general statement.)
We need more Amanda Peet in our lives!
One of Stephen’s favorite people!
After watching the trailer of her show, it looks very good. Amanda Peet is terrific and very genuine.
She is my fav
I can't wait to binge "The Chair" this weekend!
WOOOOOO!!!
Omg never ages still gorgeous
Definitely going to watch that show because I adore Sandra Oh and love Amanda Peet. I think the first time I really noticed her was in Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip. Before that she was in mostly rom-coms which I was not a fan of. in Studio 60 it felt like I was seeing her for the first time and what she could really do. Easily my favourite character on the show which was saying quite a lot since that cast included Bradley Whitford, Matthew Perry and Sarah Paulson. I feel like some people still think of her from things like The Whole Nine Yards which does her a great disservice. She stands shoulder to shoulder with Sarah Paulson and Sandra Oh as some of the best working actors today.
She is wildly charming! And lovely!
Well she is basically a lovely funny woman - so glad to see her again on the show.
She' s talented and adorable
Great person.
She is so beautifully expressive
What a relief!!!I'm NOT the only one with no social media!😅
She's amazing
Loved her since Identity, great to see her, funny and smart.
i love their weird flirting!
Sarah Paulson!!!!!!!!
From American Horror 😂
Ilysm Sarah😂😂
Her genuineness is so refreshing. She clearly doesn't care if her hair organized.
I have missed her deeply!
I really enjoyed The Chair and wish it had been renewed!
She flip him the bird on the thumbnail picture.🤣🤣🤣
I love Amanda Peet! Obsessed with Dirty John right now
Amanda should be in "What we do in the shadows", I sure she would be an amazing vampire
She looks great!
She has always been so gorgeous. Still is. 😍
Esta mina es la mas linda lejos!!👏👏👏
My favourite thing about interviews with Amanda Peet is how authentically she laughs. Super warm and genuine, if you haven't seen it go check her out on Seth Myers show as well, she's a riot, she throws her head back and forth laughing with her whole self every time, it's the best.
Great show, couldn't be happier for her!
