Jazz Fest just ain't what it used to be. I went to my first one back in 1982. Now it's just a sellout. Hundred bucks to get in and a lot of non jazz and no heritage music.
You could not be further from the truth. I was there that year and I saw a lot of jazz. Like in the past the, festival that year was a lot of blues acts and New Orleans music, but there were loads of great jazz artists there. During the festival that year, some of the jazz artists I saw include Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis, Pete Fountain, Harry Connick, Jr., Ellis Marsalis, Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers, George Benson, and many, many more. All that Jazz packed into just a few days. I was never the same. Greatest week of music I have ever seen in my life.
@@jusachipa And Sun Ra Arkestra! I saw them at Tulane University, at a grade school way out in the suburbs, and then at the Showgrounds - each show unique, each show wonderful. Agree with you - best week of music I've ever experienced as well. Maybe a few days longer than a week :)
@MrJimmienoone Go fuck yourself, no heritage, the Meters, Dr, John, Miles Davis, George Benson, Wynton Marsalis............. You are not only an idiot, you know absolutely NOTHING about Jazz or music in general

i was there in 1989 - it was too crowded to walk - you could hardly get from one stage to another.. I remember Santana & Bonnie Raitt.
Al Green's drummer is a monster...

This is very little heritage, almost no jazz, and a lot of business music. A waste of time.
