    To be honest, you guys might be sleeping a bit on Axel Sandin Pellikka. He was injured during the season. A teenager playing in a mens league. He had a phenomenal playoffs and U-20 as well. By this time, next year I believe most people will finally see that Axel Sandin Pellikka is Detroit's #1 prospect.

    28:38 so was Cossa really the "safe pick" over Wallstedt? Feels like pretty obvious was the other way around when the report overall was that Wallstedt was the more "NHL ready" goalie while Cossa was spoken of more of a "project" but hopefully with a higher ceiling... Right?

    • @LockedOnRedWings
      @LockedOnRedWings  4 месяца назад +2

      Correct! Good call. Wallstedt was talked more about as the NHL ready goalie. That was a time where Steve swung at a guy with pure athleticism and size and hoped they could hone him in.

    Danielson absolutely deserves the #2 spot. He's just such an amazing all around player. I was super high on him after the preseason and he's done nothing but impress me this year. When he was drafted i was kind of under the impression he would be an auxilliary type guy who might play 3rd line. Now I am very confident he will be a valuable 2nd line center who drives the play.

    • @ericscottstevens

    How long will Albert Johansson be the forgotten man? Like, what's it going to take for people to notice Johansson?
    Axel Sandin Pellika could be a Q. Hughes or Letang type, dynamic offensive dman.
    Also, where is Berggren? Feels like we have another Gustav Nyquist type player, and were just going to let him go for no reason.

    • @jakerain2820
      @jakerain2820 3 месяца назад

      @@TheMightymolar Not very mystifying. Berggren has great potential but the NHL is a different animal. Its not his offense, but his pretty blatantly bad turnover rate when hes been up that kept him out of the lineup. But his ELC is up so the wings are going to have to gamble if they can fix that part of his game OR create enough offense that will offset that part of his game and so far his offense hasnt shown up at the same clip in the NHL.

    I absolutely think the Red wings have done the right thing by stocking up on safe prospects. Considering how Steve turned a bottom-6 player like Kubalik, Sebrang-who? and 1st round pick into Debrincat, imagine what he could get for a 1st, Berggren and a prospect like Buium or Wallinder. That's one way to get the high-end offensive skill we need and it can be done pretty much without jeopardizing the future

    Edvinsson will almost certainly be a full time NHLer and most likely top 4. Berggren will either replace Sprong or be traded. Johansson probably will replace Maatta if he's traded. Danielson and Kasper will be on deck soon followed by Sandin-Pellikka and Cossa... Unfortunately it gets harder to find the diamonds with 32 teams scouting players around the world.

    Mazur maybe Lombardi............anyone else? I do not count Berggren for he graduated then relegated for mysteries unknown.
    The rest of the wingers in the Red Wings system are projects. SY blew the opportunity to add at least 2 wingers in the second round of the 2023 draft instead selecting defenders Gibson and Cleveland. Gibson okay, Cleveland was a total stretch.

    • @JackoTV
      @JackoTV 4 месяца назад +5

      I think for him being a 6th rounder already have playing in the NHL means that he was the opposite of a "bust" from expectations where he got picked. I think in general bigger players take longer to put things together, ans Söderblom is a HUGE one to grow into that body. He had a rouge 2nd season in NA but i still think there is plenty of time for him to develop into a solid NHLer. Either way you cant call such a low draft pick a "bust" either way with the fact that he even made it to play games at all in the big leauge...

    How is Wallstedt in the top 10 yet Cossa not even in the top 5 of Detroit prospects who dont boast 1 prospect period in the top 10?
    Cossa should be either 1 or 2 on our prospect list if you're going off of ceiling. I think he proved a lot of people wrong this year, his ceiling with his traits and athletic profile is top 3 Goalie in the NHL for a decade.
    Wallstedt was a head of Cossa because he played professional well before Cossa but Cossa has now closed that gap, imo

    Getting tired of the retreads. Prospects don't mean a whole lot if they are not brought up. Is Berggren going to be called up or traded? Is Edvinson going to be left on the team, or sent back down? Are the Wings going to sign another 11 players blocking any chance for the young guys? Talk is cheap, can they play or not?

Let them get their playing time in the minors instead of wanting them with the big clubs. You don’t like what SY is doing then don’t watch the RW!!!
