- 🙏 "Shake the Dust: Learning to Love Yourself" | Dr. Kevin R. Johnson | The Abyssinian Baptist Church
In this powerful sermon, Dr. Kevin R. Johnson delivers a transformative message about self-worth, spiritual boundaries, and divine purpose based on Matthew 10:1-20, 40-41. Drawing from Jesus's instruction to "shake the dust off your feet," Dr. Johnson masterfully weaves together biblical wisdom, personal stories, and practical guidance to help us understand when and how to release toxic relationships that no longer serve our spiritual growth.
Through the compelling metaphor of a master gardener's pruning wisdom and real-life examples, Dr. Johnson teaches us that protecting our peace isn't just self-preservation-it's divine stewardship. Learn why saying "goodbye" to certain relationships can be the most spiritual decision you make, and why guarding your energy isn't selfish-it's sacred.
Key Points:
• Understanding strategic spiritual energy management
• The divine wisdom in knowing when to walk away
• How proper pruning leads to greater purpose
• Stewarding your God-given calling effectively
• Embracing the ministry of "Bye" with grace and dignity

Thank You Rev.Johnson for preaching truth.
Shake the dust but don't leave God.
My girl Mae still singing for the Lord. It's great to see the music ministry still flourishing.
One of the best!
There was this beautiful singer by the name of Roz and she had a young daughter at the time. She was a wonderful singer and back in 2011 I remember her leading Somebody Prayed for Me. She handled this song so well and I loved her take on it.
Much needed message.
Amen. To whom much is given, much is required.
Much needed scripture today.
Thank you Matthew 10:14 AWESOME ❤
AMEN YES HE IS. MY ALL AND ALL.
What a coincidence. I just commented about our African Heritage God is AWESOME.
GOD IS. CAN'T BE STILL HAVE TO PRAISE HIS NAME HALLEUGHIA.
AMEN.
Good morning Abyssinian.
I just have to comment. I watch 3 or 4 historical Black churches and I am becoming more appreciative of our ethnic heritage. As I watch, I see so many roots represented in our facial structures.
I often wonder, Do the churches do heritage linage as far as original African and ethnic lineage.
