I would never go on Love Island, why would I choose to subject myself to the scrutiny black women get put under? If I stand up for myself - i'm the loud, angry black woman. If I say nothing and mind my own business - I have an attitude. We cant win!
I just don't like it because it is possible to give young people the impression you have to have to live up to such unrealistic beauty standards (men + woman) to find love and that brains don't matter. I am also gay and the concept just perturbs me. If you want romance plenty of good media out their with better scripts than this drivel I just saw it out of a morbid curiosity and it's just summarised as painful and induces precious braincell death. Also heard of all the mental health issues that contestants face after it I am to be honest unsurprised, that this would mess those people up mentally tbh.
reality tv is garbage tv. also over 90 of people are straight, so that's why straight dating shows are more popular. Should there be more LGBT dating shows, yes of course. But why dose every show have to be LGBT, when the majority of people on earth are straight? also another point I have. Love island is a UK show. So it makes sense that there would be a lot of white people on the show. The UK is like the whitest place on earth. The native people of England are as white as paper. Of course there people of every race in England, but I think it's a bit unfair to be angry that there are more white people, when it's in ENGLAND. I feel like there is a decent about of racial diversity. Could they improve a bit. Yes.
Hi there :) I’m going to reply in stages :) Firstly, I would just like to find out where you’re getting your statistics from? Over 90% of people are straight? That may be true in your small social environment. It’s not however, the case for the population :) you shouldn’t be excluded from something based on your sexuality. I’m sure even you realize that’s wrong. Secondly, the video is mainly calling out Love Island UK, but there are many other spin offs. Such as Love Island South Africa, where majority of the population are POC, but about 2% of those people were on the show. Thirdly, improving it a bit? Nah mate, they need to OVERHAUL the entire show. Come on now.
@@taylagrisselle5024 I don't know the exact statistic of who is straight. I have heard the rough estimate of about 10% of the worlds population not straight. Obviously it's impossible to know the exact number. I don't think gay or bi people should be excluded. But why is it wrong to focus a dating show on heterosexual dating, when that is the most common sexuality. If they want to make gay/lesbian love island. Then great. They don't need to overhaul the show. The show is silly trash, and to take it seriously is a bit ridiculous. I have never seen Love Island south Africa. So I can't speak on that.
@@StellarNovah however, consuming such trash leads to that said trash being adapted by the general public, which leads to a greater effect of the trash than you realize. It’s not so much about taking it seriously, more so about the fact that we excuse the behaviours because it’s happening in “a trash TV show” which millions of people watch. The behaviour becomes normalised and that’s the problem with the show in a nut shell :)
Where is your tapestry from? 💕

You go girl !
Human nature is to LOVE drama, as long as it's not in our lives. Of course there are the select few that attract it though👀
