Prophetic band since their beginning. Even more revelent in todays world. Fraudulent elections in the 🇺🇸. Demonic bullshit is called on it's ass. THE LORD SHALL PREVAIL. DEMOCRATS TREMBLE YOUR ASSES ARE FOR THE HELL OF 🔥
Rik Emmett has a powerful beautiful voice that touches everyone's heart around the world one of the greatest guitar player in hard rock music and a great song writer. a great underrated song of the 80s Triumph kick as_😎🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸🎸🌹🌹❤️❤️🏋️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🎸🌹
Rik is a jack of all trades - power riffs, massive solos, finger tapping - and of course classical and spanish style guitar - and maybe most importantly he is fun to listen to.....so yes should be high on the all time list of guitarists
How in the hell is it humanly possible to have that much control while playing guitar live in front of tens of thousands. Rik and Getty do it with no effort. Genius!!!!! A gift from God.
steve jackson I completely agree Triumph are one of my all time favorite bands. Did you know Rik Emmett recently released another solo album. Hes in his 60s now but still produces great music.
43 year old Triumph fan here . Started listening when i was kid and listen to them all the time . Glad i found this band as their music also helped me through life in many aspects .That's what real bands do !! Triumph fan Forever !! :)
About 40 year old huge Triumph fan replying here. I only discovered them because of the TV show Supernatural. It was love from the first note, i just had to find out more, who they were and so forth. Same thing happened with another super duper highly underrated band; Kansas.
Listening to this song in quarantine, feeling nostalgic and thinking that this is one of the most amazing, underrated bands on earth.... who plays and sings like this? POWERFUL. It has been decades since this band was front and center... yet this is THE song that I play in my head when I want to just crush it! AMAZING. PERIOD. Drop the mic....
No one really. Myles Kennedy is good, Alter Bridge is probably the most melodic rock band around today. The 1970s and 80s had the best vocalists and musicians.
I'm glad everyone thinks this album is great. Triumph is my step dads favorite band, I just bought him a Rik Emmet autograph original print vinyl of this album and didn't know if it was good or not....I couldn't find Allied Forces which is the only one I'm familiar with(love that album)
I agree with that. They still hold up though. I've turned alotta people that don't usually like old school rock onto triumph because it's fucking triumph. I think my son may have been conceived in 2017 to just a game 😂
What the hell is in the melted snow water up North? Rush,Triumph,Helix,Killer Dwarfs etc Even Loverboy. All the vocals hitting the stratosphere! On a severe Canadian metal bender right now. I think Coney Hatch is next.
This album is a big part of my life during this era. I apppreciate your comment and wanted you to know I share the same appreciation for this album. God Bless ! PEACE OUT ! KP
Always loved the guitar solo in this song. The "tapping" progression, the end picking & whammy bar dives, the keys. Really a well, thought out solo, but what else do you expect, it's Rik!
Oh my goodness, does this ever bring me back! The band's optimistic lyrics, terrific rhythms and killer riffs got me through adolescence better than anything else. Anytime there was frustration or disappointment I could turn to Triumph, or Rush or Ozzy or Iron Maiden or Judas Priest. The music is always there for us.
From a lyrical point of view there is none better than Triumph. Not sure who writes their lyrics but they are good. Fight The Good Fight, Ordinary Man, Just A Game, Hold On, Never Surrender, All The Way, Battle Cry...I could keep going. Hands down they are the greatest band to ever take the stage. I am American but all my favorites are Canadian. Molson Ice, Triumph, April Wine, and of course the greatest sport hockey.
voivod, neil merryweather, loverboy, razor, neil young, sacrifice, max wbster, aldo nova, anvil, coney hatch, kick axe, SNFU, DOA, rush, exciter, april wine, cauldron, black mountain, dead brain cells, MAHOGANY RUSH, quest for fire, saga, sheavy, nomeansno, a foot in cold water... triumph, of course.... i mean, BJ Snowden was totally right, wasn't she????!!!!!!!!!
For me, KANSAS and TRIUMPH are both #1, thou Triumph's stage performances were slightly better (mainly because of Rik Emmett). Thou...one Freddy Mercury once said, he had never heard a better live band what KANSAS, better band all together, (from Brian May's mouth). He also said (according to May), Freddy always was nervous to go on the stage after KANSAS.
Love and miss this trio. This song is awesome and sadly depressing. Drains my tear ducts as much as the song Killing Time off the same album. OMG, but listen to it over & over.
I saw Rikk Emmet in concert in 1984. Amazing. He is probably the most underrated musician of all time. Rikk Emmet simply ROCKS! The guitar, the vocals, al of it.
He's definitely one of my all time favorite musicians. Great Guitarist of several genres, great vocalist and an Amazing songwriter. Just think he was writing stuff like Hold On, Just A Game, Suitcase Blues, Magic Power, Ordinary Man and Fight The Good Fight before he was even 30 years old. That's amazing! I heard he was 30 at the time of Thunder Seven an artist with a talent well ahead of his years i think.
Can't you see the fire burnin' in a young girl's eyes Does she think that she moves ahead if she cuts me down to size Everybody's got two cents to try to buy some time But they don't even know their own hearts What can they know of mine?
Fantastic. Triumph always had a positive message, and still ROCKED. I actually think they helped make me the person I am today. Sounds corny, but I don't care.
This album was played over & over, endlessly, when it came out. The TIME trilogy is etched in my mind/heart-- poignant, mesmerizing, cut-to-the-core truth.
True artistry in Rik Emmit's vocals and guitar prowess. This was my high school senior favorite in 1986. Got to see them in concert at the SanDiego sports arena. The show where they stopped the show because an idiot up front threw a beer on Rik while holding his electric guitar. Then they continued with Fight the Good Fight.
Plenty of great bands making great music right now, you just won't find them on radio stations or top charts... Magic Circle for example released an album last year or in 2016 and it's excellent
There are always those songs that bring back "The good old days". Remind you of "The best of Times". Or, rekindle those "Fond Memories of Yester Year". However, few songs follow you through the ups, stay with you over the apex of good times, and remain loyal when no one else will on the terrifying downhill slopes in life. -just remember "They done even know their own hearts, what can they know of mine?"
I totally agree, Rik Emmet was one of the forgotten greats of the guitar, or well for most any stringed instrument. Gill Moore was another, though on the drums he wasnt anything spectacular, he could sing his ass off. Loved the bluesy tone he had.
WHAT A GREAT ROCKER!! BACK THEN.. AND BEFORE, TRIUMPH WAS JUST TEARIN' SHIT UP!! THIS TOUR WAS ONE OF THE FINEST IVE EVER SEEN, BAND WAS EXTREMELY TIGHT, GREAT SOUND, LAZERS & LIGHTS...CHICKS EVERYWHERE!.. MAY SOUND TYPICAL OF 80's ARENA ROCK.. BUT THIS SHOW WAS QUITE OVER THE TOP AND MEMORABLE FOR THAT TIME TO ME. RIK'S A GREAT GUITARIST YET I FEEL HE NEVER GOT HIS DUE, GOT LOOKED OVER BECAUSE OF ALL THE "MILLION MILES AN HOUR" SHREDDERS OF THE TIME.. AND NOTHING AGAINST THEM OF COURSE, IT WAS THE THING.. YET NONETHELESS, TRIUMPH FLAT OUT ROCKED.. AND WITHOUT THE PROPS & IMAGERY THAT WAS BIG BACK THEN AS WELL. SEEMS IT WAS QUITE THE TASK FOR THEM TO "LEVEL THE TOP" SO TO SPEAK BECAUSE THEY DIDNT USE ALL THE AFOREMENTIONED EXTRAS.. THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT MUSIC STOOD UP! THEY JUST STEPPED OUT ONTO THE STAGE AND TORE SHIT UP, YET SO UNDERRATED.. R & R HOF'ers?? THEY'D CERTAINLY GET MY VOTE!!
wow how time goes by... here i am 43 years old , feels like yesterday i was heartbroken by some high school skank.ha ha makes me laugh, what a great time i had in those years. still rocking out where you at gabby!
God these guys were good, so underrated.....probably Rush's fault as the world couldn't handle the two best bands, both trios, being from Toronto Canada. Rush is and will always be my fav but Triumph was awesome and this song brings me back. Time for them to get their due!
as time goes by we leave our fate to those who can't see the reality of their actions. the taking of our freedoms breaks every rule of nature and the great spirit of us all
when i was growing up.... it was a choice between RUSH and TRIUMPH. I chose RUSH..however, this band kicks ass. They are both 3 member bands. what happened to TRIUMPH? Both bands from Canada . YEA to CANADA.
I loved both bands. You didn't have to chose one over the other. This was far superior than any thing Rush released after Moving Pictures. This was their best album and I think its as good as MP but that's my opinion.
nope, its neither corney nor or you alone either in that it helped me to be who i am to. you read some of the other comments on this song ? quite a few posts trying to get at the same thing you are. lol love it.

+Buddy Lewis Triumph is so much better than Rush. Miles ahead as a matter of fact in my opinion. I know a lot of people have this deep respect for Rush and they are a good band but Rik Emmett is one of the best Guitarists and Vocalists ever. Drummer (Gil Moore) is amazing, Rush's drummer is amazing too but overall, i think its the lyrics and amazing performance live and in studio that Triumph beats Rush for me. Listen to the guitar solo, listen to lyrics. Hold On, Magic Power, and Fight the Good Fight are masterpieces. Those songs, this song, and many, many others, just shows they can play anything and make it sound good. Hell, they even made pop rock sound good, who the hell does that? xD These guys are only three people (I know, Rush is too) and two of them are amazing vocalists too. I know Rush has awesome talent too but these guys beat them overall for me in every category. Easily. I can agree to some extent that you can love Rush and say they're better, but they are in fact near their level, at least.
I'm with you Donaven!! There's just something about the way Rik emotes and the feelings their catalogue of music inspires.....and I happen to like Rush....I get it, if people are comparing longevity of the band and overall fame but damn it when I hear Rik's vocals soaring on the tracks I literally have an eargasm.....and who else has a drummer with killer pipes like Mr. Moore???..........Gil, Mike & Rik FOREVERRRRRR!!!!!!
I am 50 years old and this is still one of my favorite song's and band's. And yes underrated!
Was able to see them on the Thunder Seven tour on the old Rising Star concert series @ The Paramount Theater in Seattle.
Prophetic band since their beginning. Even more revelent in todays world. Fraudulent elections in the 🇺🇸. Demonic bullshit is called on it's ass. THE LORD SHALL PREVAIL. DEMOCRATS TREMBLE YOUR ASSES ARE FOR THE HELL OF 🔥
Triumph brings back so many memories. Old friends.
i love evh but rik can definitely give eddie a run for his money this solo is spectacular
Same here
Rik Emmett has a powerful beautiful voice that touches everyone's heart around the world one of the greatest guitar player in hard rock music and a great song writer. a great underrated song of the 80s Triumph kick as_😎🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸🎸🌹🌹❤️❤️🏋️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🎸🌹
Rik Emmett...The most underrated guitarist in Rock & Roll HISTORY!
BAD ASS MUSICIAN...BAS ASS VOCALS...BAD ASS PERIOD!!!
agreed
Rik is a jack of all trades - power riffs, massive solos, finger tapping - and of course classical and spanish style guitar - and maybe most importantly he is fun to listen to.....so yes should be high on the all time list of guitarists
I concur
How in the hell is it humanly possible to have that much control while playing guitar live in front of tens of thousands. Rik and Getty do it with no effort. Genius!!!!! A gift from God.
what a great song, the band was never given the respect they deserved
steve jackson I completely agree Triumph are one of my all time favorite bands. Did you know Rik Emmett recently released another solo album. Hes in his 60s now but still produces great music.
NOW...they are........the music lives on..
True that
Who sings like this anymore?! The REAL deal...
They were a popular arena headliner in their day, it just seems they have been forgotten since. I think they missed the Mtv thing by a few years...
Canada gave us two of the most gifted, talented, and intellectual bands ever. Rush and Triumph.
Triumph rocked the 80’s! Luv the changes in this tune. The trio brings all their signature elements together in this lost classic
Trio. What sound from Three Masters. This one does not tarnish.
Easily the most underrated rock band
This is one of the most underrated bands ever. Triumph is awesome.
Canadian rock stars hardly every get the fame they deserve. Triumph truly is one of Canada’s top bands.
Pretending to be in the 80's. Best of times❤
This is such a fucking, kick ass, melodic, highly underrated tune! As good as anything they've written.
I’m 23 and love this music more than most new music out today.
What a voice... I mean really? WHO SINGS LIKE THIS anymore? Wow....!!!
No one really. Myles Kennedy is good, Alter Bridge is probably the most melodic rock band around today. The 1970s and 80s had the best vocalists and musicians.
One of my favorite bands, words music .
One of the best guitar jams ever.
AMEN! completely agree-- their music's been stuck to my heart & soul for 30+ years now, and it always will be!
I'm glad everyone thinks this album is great. Triumph is my step dads favorite band, I just bought him a Rik Emmet autograph original print vinyl of this album and didn't know if it was good or not....I couldn't find Allied Forces which is the only one I'm familiar with(love that album)
Prophetic band. Way ahead of the time!!!!
I agree with that. They still hold up though. I've turned alotta people that don't usually like old school rock onto triumph because it's fucking triumph. I think my son may have been conceived in 2017 to just a game 😂
the thing is they are so talented that they seem to have been over looked. this is the music I grew up with. I was 15 when I found this group.
I was too.. people called them a 'poor man's Rush'.. always hated that comparison because for a time they were the best band out of the North
Love this Triumph tune. Evene better with Midsummer's Daydream classical intro. Rik rules !
What the hell is in the melted snow water up North? Rush,Triumph,Helix,Killer Dwarfs etc Even Loverboy. All the vocals hitting the stratosphere! On a severe Canadian metal bender right now. I think Coney Hatch is next.
This song (and the whole album) means more to me than I could ever express in words!!!!
This album is a big part of my life during this era. I apppreciate your comment and wanted you to know I share the same appreciation for this album. God Bless ! PEACE OUT ! KP
God bless ya!
100% agree. I have life memories tied to this album.
Always loved the guitar solo in this song. The "tapping" progression, the end picking & whammy bar dives, the keys. Really a well, thought out solo, but what else do you expect, it's Rik!
The "tapping" is all lagato with only his left hand. Rik is better with one hand than most players using both.
My favorite Triumph song, maybe cause it breaks my heart every time I hear it- Time goes by, will it ever bring you back again...💔
One of the best albums of all time.
Absolutely John. Saw this tour 3 times...great stuff.
Me too and agree totally!
Without a doubt
Yes !!
Agreed.
Best song ever! lyrics really stick.
Best concert ever in 1985!!! Loved them then and still!!!!
Greatest band to ever take the stage? Really? lol
Open Thinker-Rik Emmett was the primary song writer
Open Thinker I agree
voivod, neil merryweather, loverboy, razor, neil young, sacrifice, max wbster, aldo nova, anvil, coney hatch, kick axe, SNFU, DOA, rush, exciter, april wine, cauldron, black mountain, dead brain cells, MAHOGANY RUSH, quest for fire, saga, sheavy, nomeansno, a foot in cold water... triumph, of course.... i mean, BJ Snowden was totally right, wasn't she????!!!!!!!!!

Love and miss this trio. This song is awesome and sadly depressing. Drains my tear ducts as much as the song Killing Time off the same album. OMG, but listen to it over & over.
Song for song this was the best Triumph album. Every song on T7 was awesome.
wow I forgot about this great song. One great band. Powerful rock trio of 80's. As time goes by.
Seen Triumph in '83. Rik was just Simply Amazing. Never Surrender!
I saw Rikk Emmet in concert in 1986. so yeah the most underrated musician of all time
Still rocks at 66. Rik still has that honey sweet voice and mad guitar skills.....and that thick long hair, albeit its silver now.
Amen! Saw them in Kansas City in 85 unforgettable.
Can't you see the fire burnin' in a young girl's eyes
Does she think that she moves ahead if she cuts me down to size
Everybody's got two cents to try to buy some time
But they don't even know their own hearts
What can they know of mine?
Chris Newey Modern society.
saw them in concert Nov. 86. My first concert ever. Emmett was on fire.
My favorite Triumph song, I think I'd give up breathing if I could hear them play this live one more time.
Not corny. Triumph music can touch the deepest part of a person's heart and soul and stick to it like crazy glue
God.... Listen to the soaring vocals and lofty harmonies!
My favorite Triumph song.
not Magic Power?
me too
Fight The Good Fight
Fantastic. Triumph always had a positive message, and still ROCKED. I actually think they helped make me the person I am today. Sounds corny, but I don't care.
Great Album! This is Awesome, great memories with my late Uncle. Man is miss him.....
As melhores lembranças da minha juventude....1990...
This is a rare gem TRUE treasure!! AWESOME taste, and many THANKS!!!!
Triumph, Rik, Gil, and Mike are the best musicians that I've ever heard over the last 30 years.
Rik was always very unsatisfied with the skills of the other bandmembers. Reason for him to quit Triumph.
Master Piece ...
This album was played over & over, endlessly, when it came out. The TIME trilogy is etched in my mind/heart-- poignant, mesmerizing, cut-to-the-core truth.
A phenomenal band that never got their deserved recognition.
Sharon Mahn i totally agree they're one of my all time favs.
Triumph is the greatest rock group ever!
amazing song amazing band, I will never forget Triumph, love it ❤
True artistry in Rik Emmit's vocals and guitar prowess. This was my high school senior favorite in 1986. Got to see them in concert at the SanDiego sports arena. The show where they stopped the show because an idiot up front threw a beer on Rik while holding his electric guitar. Then they continued with Fight the Good Fight.
The man could write, sing and play like nobody's business. Seems to be a lost art these days.
Rikk is a true musician genius for sure
Plenty of great bands making great music right now, you just won't find them on radio stations or top charts... Magic Circle for example released an album last year or in 2016 and it's excellent
Masterpiece!!!!
This music is therapeutic for me. Awesome
Saw this tour, it was great!
Rik Emmett has this magic and feel
Best Triumph album...too bad no live video available. These guys are ROCK SOLID!
How this wasn't a giant hit for this band I'll never know. Great anthem for me when I was 15 back in 85. And great guitar playing
I saw them in Sydney. They all blew me away...especially the drummer!!!
Almost every song by this band is great.
Mark Jackson especially the songs guitarist Rik Emmett wrote and sang.
Awesome song, great album, great concert when they came to San Antonio!
I saw them in Ottawa ,Canada on the Thunder seven tour ,It was a great show!
I totally agree, Rik Emmet was one of the forgotten greats of the guitar, or well for most any stringed instrument.
Gill Moore was another, though on the drums he wasnt anything spectacular, he could sing his ass off. Loved the bluesy tone he had.
They always put on a excellent show live....
I listened (and STILL DO) to all the same stuff. I'm right there with ya!!
played this CD to death summer of 1985! best concert I've ever seen in the 50 or so I've seen.
They were advanced for sure. That guitar solo is distinct.
WHAT A GREAT ROCKER!! BACK THEN.. AND BEFORE, TRIUMPH WAS JUST TEARIN' SHIT UP!! saw these guys in concert 2 times once on the never surrender tour and once on the thunder 7 tour they kicked ass both concerts
You are correct, true triumph even now.
Excellent Song!
I agree, Thunder Seven, the best album ever! But it was 1984, that's the reason ...
wow how time goes by... here i am 43 years old , feels like yesterday i was heartbroken by some high school skank.ha ha makes me laugh, what a great time i had in those years. still rocking out where you at gabby!
by far the best triumph alum ever. they were at their peak songwriting wise
God these guys were good, so underrated.....probably Rush's fault as the world couldn't handle the two best bands, both trios, being from Toronto Canada. Rush is and will always be my fav but Triumph was awesome and this song brings me back. Time for them to get their due!
Solo de guitarra - espetacular.
At 3:46, yes that is Rik double-tracking that solo!!!
They rock just as good as the best of them
the duelling guitars! awesomeness
as time goes by we leave our fate to those who can't see the reality of their actions. the taking of our freedoms breaks every rule of nature and the great spirit of us all
Great solo
when i was growing up.... it was a choice between RUSH and TRIUMPH. I chose RUSH..however, this band kicks ass. They are both 3 member bands. what happened to TRIUMPH? Both bands from Canada . YEA to CANADA.

A true gem from 1985
Triumph should've gotten more attention
True musicianship...breathing rare air here folks !
Incredibly underrated band
Música que nunca volverá.... watch and learn !
nope, its neither corney nor or you alone either in that it helped me to be who i am to. you read some of the other comments on this song ? quite a few posts trying to get at the same thing you are. lol love it.
Prophetic Band. Well ahead of their time. SPOT ON FOR TODAY!!!!!
Awesome !!!
Phenomenal!!!
Lyrics…
Can't you feel the thunder, rollin' in a young man's heart
Can't you see the frustration it's tearin' him apart
He's got a hunger for power, he wants to have it all
Sometimes he feels like he's bangin' his head up against the wall
Out in the real world living a lie
Can't seem to make the change, but he can't say why
As Time Goes By
Nobody really knows what to say, tomorrow is another day
That seems a million miles away, so far away
Time Goes By, bridges burn and big wheels turn and
Time can fly, will it ever bring you back again?
You know that I can't live without your love
Time Goes By, you know I'll never make it alone
Make it alone
Can't you see the fire burnin' in a young girl's eyes
Does she think that she moves ahead if she cuts me down to size
Everybody's got two cents to try to buy some time
But they don't even know their own hearts
What can they know of mine?
Call out for reasons echoes the cry
She waits, anticipates; no reply as Time Goes By
Oh baby I don't know what to say
Tomorrow is another day
You seem a million miles away, so far away
Time Goes By, bridges burn and big wheels turn and
Time can fly, will it ever bring you back again?
You know that I can't live without your love
Time Goes By, you know I'll never make it alone
Make it alone
We all bear witness as history unfolds
Let's hope tomorrow can deliver on the promise that she holds
Don't look back in anger, don't look ahead in fear
You just keep takin' her as she comes until she comes in clear
The love you send out returns to you in time
The wheel gets turned around by those who try
For all their lives
Time Goes By, bridges burn and big wheels turn and
Time can fly, will it ever bring you back again?
You know that I can't live without your love
Time Goes By, you know I'll never make it alone
Make it alone

Blijft geweldige muziek (jaren 80 metal)
Time can't change great!
Got that right, TL!!!
Im sure im going to get alot of haters but i think this trio is better than the other trio from Canada
Buddy Lewis Oh, heavens! Not even close.
Buddy Lewis No Way !!
Not really, no. Triumph is still pretty good, but really nowhere near at Rush's level.
