Seems like the original version was gonna be a direct Ultimate Spider-Man film with no Spider Verse. Just Miles as the star and Peter B Parker as his mentor.
Kimmy Boy yh I thought the exact same thing. This probably was the case cuz In early 2017 or late 2016 they adapted the storyboards into a test animation for people to see and that was one of the ending shots.
I think it could have not been even decided yet at the moment Alberto and his team were working on the initial visual development, animatics and animation tests. Mielgo stated that they brought him in even before there was a script or director or anyone attached to the project.
'm a huge fan of Lord and Miller but after seeing Love Death Robots ALBERTO MIELGO did everything himself, single handedly. The story and the visual where all there. when he was fired there was still a movie to be made but 90% of the final movie is all his work and his story told trough his visuals alone. Amazing!
Even though Spider-Verse looked great and was a decent flick, after watching the animatic, The Witness and now this new Watchdogs cinematic by Mielgo, I'm still sighing over what Spider-Verse COULD have been... I'll never understand these big studios so scared shitless of making bold stuff. People go INSANE over Alberto's style, period. And I hope the full length movie he's making is gonna be his next step in revolutionizing the industry.
Azmend Undram I think it’s largely that safer stuff is much more guaranteed to be successful. With something bolder you also risk losing money which is something a studio ultimately doesn’t want at the end of the day. Can’t keep making bold stuff if said bold stuff isn’t performing well enough to allow you to keep making it
@@hubguy You're right and I'm fully aware of it, especially given the fact that I work in this industry, it has it's flaws and strong sides :D Though I also believe that Alberto's style shows that you can go bold and still hit the spot comercially/critically, it just has to be done and promoted in a proper way.
2:21 that edit is brilliant

I don’t think the original was going to have Peter B at all since in the original storyboards there’s only one Spider-Man and he dies
Matt Stevens there’s a scene in the storyboards were Miles messages A Peter Parker, which is who I assumed to be Peter B Parker.

@@aza.ak1ra I agree, maybe Sony felt it hit too close to the Ultimates comics that it might turn off their attempts at getting a trilogy.
I wish that Alberto Mielgo did this movie all by himself, but I still love it anyway
this rebuild gives the entire movie a darker twist, amazing!
Man.
I really kinda wish the original storyboard got made instead
Me to
Might get in live action one day in a few years hopefully
Did u see how spider Man dies in that bruh it a kids movie
@@mr.hamster318 🤦♂️
Not EVERY animated show or movie has to be for kids.
Have you seen Sausage Party!?
@@spider-man500 nope
This song is more fit in the scenario then most of the song in the movie
I know this is a kids movie but I would love to see this in full animation
This is genuinely amazing. I'm just glad someone else has seen that animatic
Awesome edit of what we could have gotten...
I was gonna try to do this but now I don’t have to. This is really cool.
I love 2:20 waaay too much
same
Somebody should really just give Alberto free reign on a movie!
wesome work recreating Alberto Mielgo´s storyboard
Too bad the Animatic keeps vanishing on yt that is :p its one of the most goated due to how much this song fits.
HOW DO WE MAKE A PETITION TO MAKE THIS THE TONE OF THE MOVIE???
