When faced with blade lineage and kurokumo, the background music is played as an ensemble of Japanese and Korean traditional instruments, and when faced with blade lineage, it seems that only Korean traditional instruments are played. It seems that the type of instrument was derived from each motif. I like this detail.
So this makes me wonder: could S Corp letting Kurokumo Clan into their district be a further reference to Japanese occupation of Korea?
@@Levyafanyes. But to pm trust they hit korea too, with a corp being greedy nest of evil
@@Levyafan Could be, S-Corp seems very much be a refrence to South Korea in general, with people getting out because how crappy it is and both the League of Nine being a real live group of young Korean Poets as well as Blade Linage being Korean style warriors.
@@plinfan6541The entire City’s a critique of South Korea. I think S-Corp’s like food production or something since they called it Agroindustries.
@@Fluffy56547s You know, this does make me realise that agroindustry was a somewhat prominent motif in Chapter 4 flashbacks. Dongrang's fathoms of the ego, both as distortion and as EGO user, manifest around him a wheat field; an important part of his flashbacks is a little yellow calf he rescued and treated; his research into K Corp's tears application gave life to the Unlimited Chicken Machine (tm); and, of course, his EGO is that of a 'farmwatch', who is essentially a 'middle manager' of korean farms back in the day, wielding a plow and harvesting the fruits of his research. In Dongrang's mind, farming seems to be an allegory for something ruthless, something that harvests and harvests and never has enough.
I do wonder if S Corp's deal is that they REALLY work their farmers to the bone and scour every piece of available land for another hectare of soil to plant in? After all, with how massive and populated the City is, feeding everyone is one heck of a tall order. I can already imagine that farmers in S Corp district likely are not unlike serfs, living in someone else's property as any real estate is precious, and doing anything except farming is only for the select few. This also might explain why S Corp invited the Kurokumo Clan into their domain: having organised thugs to outsource security and racket to is probably something more profitable and less people-costly than having your own people do it.

일일은 공명이 장대으 높이 올라 제장을 분발헐 제

I have never heard an ost so accurately describe the progression of the fight. It's simultaneously cultural, fiery, resentful, but also deliberate and calculating
It starts with what resembles a war music filled with traditional Korean motif. At 1:02, after the first war cry however, it turns into deliberate and slow notes that contrast with the chaos and passion that is before. It sounds wary and guarded. As if playing a chess game, calculating their every move. All the while, there is an undertone of resentment. A single note keeps repeating(unfortunately I don't know what instrument it is), and it resembles low growls. Each time I hear this part, I imagine it as when the preparation to use Yield my Flesh first starts
At 1:34, the notes start to increasingly build up in its intensity. Whenever I hear of this part, I think of when Kim gains the growing resentment status. No longer is the resentment an undercurrent lying beneath cautious calculations, it's threatening to escape at any moment
At 2:04, the song reaches its fullest intensity. Any remaining resentment left in the song is blasting at its fullest. There is no holding back
This song is one of the reasons I started taking Korean classes on Duolingo.

I once played in korean traditional band with the drum. That makes me more into it. Because every single person who played in this band know the pressure, being whole and power. We play so hard that actually it's pain to play but at the monent, it's more like to be possessed, you never want to stop.
Me: Pff, this guy's barely at Ricardo level! I should be able to manage just fine.
Kim: _You know, I still have that one page from Library of Ruina. _*_You know the one._*

Will we ever get a bamboo hatted Kim voice reveal?
kim actually had a scrapped proper reception in Library of Ruina and you can find the assets for his old voicelines somewhere in the Library of Ruina assorted assets folder (if you need it i can send it to you); i believe he was voiced by the same person who did Maxim so imagine maxim but a little bit more chainsmoking

[THIS USER'S BONES HAVE BEEN CLAIMED]
THIS GOES SO HARD
I first encountered Distorted Mentor Kim in the Mirror Dungeon. He was the last encounter. I went in and came face-to-face with the terrifying image of the smoky master with this wild epic music playing in the background. Yes, I was terrified. Especially when I saw "claim their bones" the first time.
Ngl, i trought my sinclair with his negative -45 sp was going to win, then i saw the defeat screen
Good thing the first time I encountered him I had good enough ids to just clash every move (yes I did not let a single yield go through)
That's the first time I realize there are enemies in this game that can deal so much damage to finish the entire group in 1 move.
Also, yeah I'm terrified by his presence in the mirror dungeon
Kim when he reaches -45 Sanity
Here's a lyric that someone presumed
even korean can't hear that lyric clearly so this not 100% accurate
also I got bad english skill
길잃은 봉황이 산에 높이 올라 내려다보니 횡난일세
The lost fenghuang(phoenix) rises high into the mountain and looks down, and what a tragedy
승정원,도승지,우부승지 이 일로 난리 ,시집읊던 봉황으로
Seungjeongwon, Do Seung Ji,Woobu Seung Ji
get in commotion by this case, by(?) fenghuang who read poetry
"천상천하" 지우노라
erase the "sky above,sky beyond"
새로 내려온 도승지 이조 이들은 지금으로 사하노라
the new Do Seung Ji, e-jo will be Forgiven from now on
Seungjeongwon = kind of king's office in Joseon
Do Seung Ji = mastercheif of Seungjeongwon
Woobu Seung Ji = lower cheif of Seungjeongwon
e-jo = Human Resource Management of Seungjeongwon
"sky above, sky beyond" = there are two meanings in china, korea and japan
first is "whole world" second means "who most noble, most powerful" It could mean old "Do Seung Ji"
I hope PM upload that BGM with "real lylic CC"
I made some personal changes after using a google translator to further investigate the meaning of these lyrics. I took your interpretation with Korean and made some tweaks to make it look and sound better connotatively and literally in English.
I mainly study European languages (Spanish, English, French) but I tried to consider the context and make the poem read a little better.
"The stray Phoenix (Fenghuang) rises high into the mountain and looks down, seeing tragedy."
"The Aristocracy, (Seungjeongwon) Chancellor (Do Seung Ji), and Scribe (Woobu Seung Ji), (Enjambed line here)
bicker and drown out the Phoenix, who used to sing poetry. (Couldn't find exact translation, put it together in my own interpretation using synonyms)
Erase the Sky Above, the Sky beyond (According to what I could find, the latter also means 'heaven'. I'm assuming this is creating a juxtaposition between powerful nobility and the real world- comparing the wealthy to heaven, saying they live in bliss- and comparing the poor to the real world- those who actually suffer and face reality. 'Erase' being here makes sense, it's implying that Bamboo Hatted Kim is trying to erase the divide between heaven and earth- which makes sense given his backstory, so I kept this how you wrote it.)
A new Chancellor. The E-jo are forgiven. (This line is especially difficult. Even taking apart the individual words and their meanings, I can't exactly decipher what the meaning behind the line is supposed to be. I believe this is Kim saying that he will put a new leader in place- and forgive those who rule gracefully. I think 'forgiven' here can also mean in some context 'forsaken', so that could be possibly misheard or mistranslated. Maybe Kim is spiting the E-jo. There's also a chance Kim is forgiving himself, since I believe Kim is based on Kim Byeong-si, a Korean E-jo. For this line, I just changed it so that it sounds good. I did not try to change the words or meaning really, because I cannot fully understand them.)
(It was difficult to find information on the niceties and poetic roles of the Do Seung Ji and Woobu Seung Ji in the song- or even in the original cultural context, so I decided to use titles from medieval England to keep the Juxtaposition of rank and aristocracy. Please correct me if I was wrong or there is a better alternative.)
So, in conclusion, we have:
The Stray Phoenix rises high into the mountain and looks down, seeing tragedy.
The Aristocracy, Chancellor, and Scribe,
bicker and drown out the Phoenix, who used to sing poetry.
Erase the Sky Above, the Sky beyond
A new ruler. The E-jo are forgiven.
Bear in mind I do not claim for this to be a perfect translation, superior version of the original lyrics, or for it to be better than yours. This comment is intended to help cross the language barrier, provide new perspective, and hopefully make it easier for English speakers to appreciate the full depth of this story.
@@BX--nq6gf So, in summary, its a play on Kim's feelings and wishes, especially the part where the sky is erased. Thank you, for adding to the translation

One small detail I noticed and love is when Kim proceeds to use “To Claim Their Bones”, he cuts through the DAMN MUSIC.Even the boss theme cannot withstand him!
LETS GO
*To claim their bones*
Even with all blade lineage I struggled. Until I got mersault and faust. Mersault two shotted the encounter. Due to the god levels of extra thread I got captain ahab and even kuro rodian. So the passives for poise right now are bloody ridiculous. Sinclaires claim my bones can hit up to 500+ damage straight up and mersault is by far the most ludicrous character I've ever used. Considering I started off with blade lineage yi sang as my first 3 star. It feels good to see blade lineage become the most filthy setup I've ever used. Filthy damage, infinite poise gen and not even half the effort my w-Corp team requires.

"AHHH WHERE THE FUCK IS MY SKELETUAL STRUCTURE" the song
This song have lyrics? I mean i want to know if they are saiying something
Koreans fans sure that studio eim used traditional singing method. So it may have lyrics, but koreans can't also hear what the song lyrics means...
It doesn’t mean anything. It’s a traditional Korean singing practice where you speak in tongues. The vocals are expressing their unfiltered fury through gibberish.
It is Korean but I can't hear clearly. I can hear only "The pheonix(bonghwang) rise up to the sky(봉황이 하늘 높이 올라)", "onnera(오너라, which used frequently as refrain in korean tradional music)"
edit: Some say It's "The lost pheonix rise high up to the mountain.(길잃은 봉황이 산 위에 높이 올라)" I also can hear something just before "봉황이" so lost(길잃은) might be right.
길잃은 봉황이 산에 높이 올라 내려다보니 횡난일세...(A lost phoenix climbs high up a mountain and looks down to see that it is in chaos...)
It sounds like this until the first syllable
After that, I can't hear well unless the MR comes out..
Or there is a poet with the same name, Korean Kim Sat-gat[bamboohat KIM], and there is a similar content of the first syllable in his "poem."
"When the phoenix flew in, all the birds hid, and when the dragon appeared in the sea, all the underwater creatures hid."
Similar to the content of Chapter 5.5, there are many cowardly and evil people in the world, and they lament whether they know the will of a great person.
This MF wiped my team, i though i had him on the corner but then he just started to slash everything with an insane damage

what this music talking about ?
It is pansori, a traditional Korean music. I can't hear what it's about, but I guess it's part of Jeokbyeokga. According to Kim's story, it seems right.
Google translation :D
The lyrics don’t mean anything in particular. It’s like gibberish. This is used in some traditional Korean music to express feelings that can’t be expressed with words.
@@BuckBlaziken But it seemed to have a definite sentence structure. It had a "조사" to represent the subject and a "-제," a form commonly seen in pansori. It means a time. Of course, it's just my personal opinion.
@@BuckBlaziken I can hear "The pheonix(bonghwang) rise up to the sky" and "onnera(오너라, which used frequently as refrain in korean tradional music)" at least.
