    The removal of petrol subsidies was a national factor that affected all states, and not only in the Northern states. If there is corruption in states, then the government is to blame because you cannot just give trillions of Naira to the federal states and not follow up on how the money is spent. Perhaps creation of the ministry of governance and transparency could be a good solution for Nigeria and other African countries to monitor development projects and financial transparency.

  • @sirrainbow1672
    @sirrainbow1672 Месяц назад +2

    It is always very interesting when you listen to some of the leaders in the northern part of the country telling the truth. The guest on this program and previously the Kaduna State government said it as it is. Some of the protest in the South have been peaceful but that in the north took a different dimension based on what the guest is saying. The only positive outcome that we come of this protest is the the northern leader will now sit up and pay more attention to the people they governed. The anger in the north is not directed toward Tinubu as seen in the South. The south thinks Tinubu and his administration are the problem and the governors in the south are not part of the government which is totally wrong. Therefore the kinds of placards you see in the south are target toward the government at the national level while those in the north not only are directed towards the government the actions are directed mostly to the state governments. Protesters ought to address most of heir demands to the government closer to them. Conditions are not likely to be the same in all the states of the Federation but with the existence of the national assembly that is made of of representatives from the thirty sic states and the FCT issues that the youths are displeased about should come through all the representatives to the president, this is not happening in Nigeria. The national assembly is the easiest way to communicate with the executive branch of the government. When representative come to the floor of the national assembly to lay down what is going on in their respective constituency if it is is an issue that require the attention of the executive is can be communicate right away. This process will limit the need for protest because the problems and demands can be addressed before it gets to protest across the nation. The protest is entering the third now and none of the protesters have come with evidence as to how many times they reach directly with the government on demands made. The social media is not the government. Demands made in the social media or television programs cannot be considered official unless communicated to the government. It is important that Nigerians understand the media is not the government. If you hold press conference about the government and you have not communicated your concern directly with the government that is playing politics. With regards to the expert issue raised by the guest, what the president did was to recommend people he thought to be qualified to be Ministers and the Senate approved them without know what portfolio that we be assigned to them. Therefore the only way this mismatch can be corrected is to ensure in future that the president specify to the Senate what portfolio is attached to each nominated minister. However, there ministers in the administration that were matched with the appropriate portfolio. The president set an evaluation process for all ministers and Nigerians should wait to see how that goes.

How come that Nigeria was very secure, all the refineries working, no bad roads as it is now, no kidnappings, and all that? Who are those making electricity and refineries not to work effectively and efficiently. This is not only about the North Nigeria but the entire country. Poverty is deliberate weaponised by political class to put the people perpetually in disadvantage positions where they will continue to Lord it over them before, during, after elections circles.
