Joey Fernandez thanks for watching Joey. I think since we just did a detailed mix breakdown series last month, we may not do one again for a little while. If you haven’t yet, check out the previous several episodes for detailed mix stuff. Thanks again
@@InTheMixJoeCarrell Hey Joe what polar pattern did you guys have the WA47 set to? I’m going to use the 47 as an overhead above the snare in a Glyn John’s type recording set up
It's crazy how much tighter the center image is with the 84's - everything sounds much more upfront. Dug the 87's most, though the 14's would be great for a livelier sound. All were perfectly usable.
Those WA-84 do sound really nice. Think those might be next step on my drum mic upgrade. Though, the affordable Line Audio CM4 I use now, really don't sound bad, or spikey. They're smooth, natural, and a little dark. Which is a character I like for an overhead mic. And why I prefer the sound of the WA-84 to Neumann KM-184s. The WA-84 sound reminds me of the good characteristics of a pretty nice sounding Oktava MK-012 (a kind of vintage warmth, smoothness, old record sound), but without the cymbal graininess they can sometimes have. Which isn't always what you want. Later, I think my favourite pair I've heard are the Soyuz 013s. But, that's more than twice the price of the WA-84.
Hello There Joe I happened to see that you used the WA-47 Jr on Toms. Do you recommend them as Overheads? I already own one and looking to find the best option for Overheads.
@@InTheMixJoeCarrell i couldn't hold back. I already bought 5 other WA- 47 jrs mics for overheads and toms lol! Thank you sir they DO sound great! Thank you for all the great content!🙏🏼🙌🏼
Hey there Jer - sorry about that. It looks like something happened with the Dropbox folder at some point last year. Sorry about that. I've removed the URL from the description, and I'll see if we can find out if they still exist. Hope that helps!
Awesome videos! I wasn't able to download the multitracks because it keeps showing an error on the page. If anyone can assist me with this, I'd appreciate it so much. Thanks!
Joe, in the Dropbox folder, both "set 2" and "set 3" are titled as "84OH". But in the video, set 2 uses 87 as OH. so, In the Dropbox folder, set 2 is actually 87OH and set 3 is 84OH? thanks!
So helpful thank you!
Also, the song is awesome!
Incredible products from Warm Audio! Joe, Would love to see how you mixed the song at the end.

If I had to guess the music video at the end was shot by the park next to blackbird studio.
3:01 wa251
4:17 wa87
5:18 wa84
6:16 wa14
7:11 wa47

Hi, would also like a refreshed link with the files if possible. Thanks for the vid.
review for drum~~
Awesome!!! Where i can get the multitrack files?
www.dropbox.com/sh/q39sn5wxa7f5vlk/AABWMUUKSzLS6gCsL8okrzTva?dl=0
The multitrack link sends me to an error page.
What are your thoughts on the 251s vs 87 r2s on overheads for drums?
I have the files in my dropbox folder, is ok if I share in the comments? I don't want to break any rule.
Can you please email us - marketing@warmaudio.com. Thanks!

Manuel Lujan the 47jrs do indeed sound great on overheads! Thanks for watching Manuel.

Manuel Lujan did you checked out the MINI K47?
Do they have to be matched?
@@InTheMixJoeCarrell Hey Joe, are the wa47jr bright sounding or a little darker like the wa87? Thanks!
The multitrack downloads are no longer available?

How big is that live room(studio)?
A question for Joe Carrell at Treasure Isle Studios in Nasvhille, TN!
If I already have a 47jr, can I get a second to use for drum overheads even though they aren't a "matched pair" and still get great results?
Yes!
Are the WA87s in this video the first version?
Yes.
Warm recording console anyone?...A SSL flavor one and a Neve flavor one...while I’m at it, add an API flavor...
