This pairs really well with some 400mg of mescaline up in the mountains. Just make sure you take the mescalin _after_ the mezcal. Otherise you're in for a transcendental experience of your stomach.

Used to have this stuff at a bar I worked at. Was always entertaining to watch people dare each other to eat the scorpion when I poured the last shot of a bottle. FYI, it is both chewy and crunchy and tastes like mezcal and scorpion. I am a slut for tips.

I have to admit I bought it just for the scorpion as a novelty last time I was in Mexico.
But I was pleasantly surprised at it's flavor.

I've eaten many a worm in tequila/mezcal over the years, but never have I seen a scorpion in it. Yes, I would eat it in a heartbeat (providing it isn't a poisonous variety)! Lol
All scorpions are venomous, if they were to put one of the more deadly ones then they would have to remove a chunk of the tail which is both ugly to look at and counterproductive if a less dangerous one is more widely available.
Scorpions are not poisonous they are venomous and venom is not poisonous so you can eat or drink it just fine, as long as you don't have any cuts are open wounds in your stomach like ulcers.
I don't think it would've passed QA if they put anything poisonous in there.
Well, at least not in moderation.

The best mezclas tend not to have animals in them.
Good mezcal is actually reminiscent of a smoky whiskey. And it’s also like whiskey in that it’s quite regulated and made by smaller artisans. The batch numbers and individual farms are often listed on each bottle. Many farms and distilleries are based around the village of Santiago Matatlan, Oaxaca. But, even as Oaxaca is best known for mezcal, certain other Mexican states are also legally allowed to make it.
One mezcal that I liked was the Madre, made from a mix of espadín and cuishe agave.
Same with good tequila, except that tequila is regionally restricted. But good tequila doesn't need to advertise with the novelty of a worm in the bottle.
