Bolt thrower is worth while. There's a few fights you can trivialize with clever use The bella sisters can be killed instantly by planting five mines onto the lightbulb near the wall they spawn at. In the casyle foyer, you can immediately take out the shields from the fight. In the castle where the bridge is lowered by a cultist pulling a lever, you can mine the wall behind him to kill the red cultist quickly. And in the castle again, where you first meet the red, you can use the bolt thrower to silently kill the cultist guarding the stairs, and make your way to the balcony, backstab the red, and then drop the chandelier.
I found that all you have to do for the red cultist at the bridge that lowers you can chuck a grenade and when the lever puller spawns it will not be lowered.
I actually bought the Stryker as soon as I could just to try it. I was a little disappointed but expected it, what I didn’t expect was the charm which gave me a big smile
One thing that is a very important detail that's glossed over is that when you saved for the 3rd time at 51:30 it's cut to the next time and we don't see you actually save there. So today during my run I didn't save until after I got Ashley and had to do Chapter 3 and 4 back to back because I didn't see the save. So anyone who sees this keep that in my mind. But now I do have and extra save so that's cool. I also was so confused through out my run because I was always behind by 1 save and was wondering where I hadn't saved. But keep up the great content. Clocked in 24 hours in 3 days getting and completing everything. The OG is great, but this remake is infinitely a million times greater. Absolutely love this game. Glad you're having fun and enjoying the game Bawk. Take care!
@fabjtown1 I wouldn't know yet. I'm following a trophy step guideline. Finished Assisted difficulty, playing it again now. Next is Professional > Standard > Hardcore > Professional again. Why do you say the game is broken? If you're talking about bonus unlocks, it's the same as the OG.
@@D.L8602 I beat hardcore today and I can attest. It's pretty unfair in some scenarios because it takes like 5 handgun head shots to stun one villager which is kind of ridiculous.
Not sure if you knew, but you can actually skip the initial fight in the village by shooting the church bell from the 2nd floor of the shotgun house. Out the window on the right at the top of the stairs. ❤🎉❤
Deluxe weapons and Chicago sweeper are safe to use for S+ but won’t get you the handcannon. What I did what playthrough pro new game using the sweeper after getting its exclusive upgrade and used Ashley’s armor getting S+ then start another new game with cat ears for infinite ammo not using any storage weapons at all. That’s the easiest way to get handcannon if you are having trouble I think.
@@markusdevlin1973 Np. The trickiest part is doing enough merchant requests by chapter 7 the start of the castle. That’s when the exclusive ticket becomes available and it costs 30 spinels. But let’s you get the infinite ammo exclusive on the Chicago sweeper without upgrading. So after chapter 7 the game gets slightly easier. I was liberal with my saves until chapter 7 and after getting the infinite sweeper started saving less often to stay in the 15 save limit range. Hope it helps. Good luck!
I honestly don’t know how you get so lucky. I’m watching the AIs just let you run right by them, the cabin scene didn’t make you fight 100+ zombies, the rng is so good to you. If a zombie gets a hit in on me (almost impossible to avoid literally) the AI does a two piece combo on me, their throws led are literally heating seeking. This game is so fucking infuriating for me on professional.

@@Guts1991 yeah, it didnt said is 5x crit chance or 5x crit damage, but once The Mercenaries Mode launch, we will see the damage numbers and know the difference.
@@shane5400 i did that with the infinite launcher to get the sweeper Now its gonna be pure pain unless i can somehow speedrun to get the infinite ammo for the sweeper before the castle so i can get the cat ears I think the devs played the game on easy mode and had people beat their time on a harder difficulties as challenges Theres just no way the average dev is gonna beat pro mode in 5 hours with all the bad spots and rng pro mode tortures people with Especially the water room with crossbows and shields
@@fangsvengeful4465 yeah I was initially shocked to see 5.5hrs and 1 save per chapter as the bar. Without using exploits that is a rough ride, I'm just gonna NG+ the shit out of HArdcore once I get the Sweeper. I'm not a fan of rushing around. Good luck on your S+!

bro what the hell was that chance at 35:06 ?? all of your charms were insane mine were doggo shit on 4 full game retries lmao even on chapter 5 when I try to take the same exact tactis and routes as you ashley gets catched all the fricking time I literally lost 40 minutes from the church to luis section because she was getting catched everysingle time no matter what so, yeah I used a different strat with 2 flash to pass without an issue with tmp, and clear the pathway for her idk what's wrong with my game but that's rough on every retry she's always far behind even if I stay with her
If you unlocked the handcanon, dlc weapons, tommy gun etc you can use them in your fresh playthrough to get S+!! Just make sure you farm enough money to max them out for the infinite ammo :D GOOD LUCK EVERYONE
I maxed my tommy gun and got inf ammo but when i go to a fresh new game its lvl 1 with 50 ammo...am i missing something or am i suppose to upgrade it again in fresh new game ? And how about Ashley's armor? Can i use it for S+ ?
You know I actually found out that if you can manage to shoot the church bell in the hord section at the start of the game (easier done if you go to the top of the main building) the fight will instantly end😂
How can someone NOT like RE4 Remake? It's perfect! Down to every minute detail! Ashley is not annoying and has a great personality. Luis has a nice redemption arc. Krauser and Leon have an actual history together, and Leon's training is now explained. Ada actually does the right thing at the end (I think Leon and Ada's relationship will get clearer in the future. Ada clearly has a softer spot for Leon in the Remakes). The gameplay is perfect. The best lines and scenes from the OG are still here. Honestly, Capcom should learn from their new Masterpiece, and Remake RE5, RE6 and Code Veronica. I would also love a new game about Operation Javier

@@Bawkbasoup how can you know if you completed each chapter with an S rank so you can know if you need to replay it or no cuz you can see it at the end but thats too late if you need to replay the whole game. I completed it on standart and then on veteran both with B ranks. I was taking my time looting everything and i was loading multiple times from autosaves to do some fights properly. I died only 4 times for the whole veteran run but i loaded multiple times before some fights. Is loading from save/autosave affecting your chapter rank?
@@TheJorokadilaka Yes, if you are going to restart any section for whatever reason and are trying to get a fast Time, DO NOT pause and hit Load game. You have to Quit game, and then load from the main menu your last save, that way if you are restarting the time won’t be added.

Something I learned the hard way is that there is a secret anti-save scumming feature but there is also a way to get around it. Despite only being given 15 saves, if you constantly reload the last save file you're on, it'll keep adding time to your playthrough. If you reload a separate save file and then go back to the one you were previously on, it resets the time proper. I got an S+ with 9 minutes remaining but in reality, I probably could have ended it with at least 30 had I realized that.
@@RCSe7n lets say you have 1 hour on your save, you play for 30 minutes and die, even if you select continue your timer will still be 1 hour and a half, to reset this you could just go to the main menu and then reload the save instead of the continue button
@@RCSe7n it means that if you reload the save within the game, it adds what you played so far for the total time, if you reload from main menu the timer reloads for whenever you saved.

So many fights that I would get stuck trying to run past, that bawk just makes look easy lol. I'm sure i'll just get stuck again when I try to copy and I'm not sure how much the striker charm helped but it's a learning curve
For anyone else using this as a guide and stuck at chapter 5: Go out the church in the village then go left and down into the sewers. Backstab the one guy, then go up the ladder and go straight up the path past the cow shack. Shoot the molotov in the woman's hand, then go into the building and vault the window, then vault the barricade and take the so youre back where you were when you first entered in chapter 1. Go down that left path and take the ladder that the villagers set up, then kick it down. Then you can drop like normal, and continue to the farm. This doesnt take much longer and its much less likely that they'll grab ashley.
i killed the first guy next to the window, then all came to the window and i left like you did through the sewers, and went straight to the door leading to the farm. That was the way i figured out because Ashley always got caught near the door :C i swear if in the last part of the game, i cant continue (im in the mines, chapter 11) i will use cheat engine, i dont give a fuck, i hate the 15 saves limitation, running out of ammo and heals i tbh dont get hit many times neither miss shots.

I’m around an hour and 28 minutes at the end of chapter 10. Doing it on NG+. Also in sections. Last night Waterhall was kicking my ass so I gave up. I don’t have Ashley’s armor yet so it’s a little hard for me at the moment.
I've watched a few S+ runs and this is was hands down the most genuinely skilled and prepared one I've seen, especially for when you put it out. Enjoyed watching this one the most - can't believe you did so well without the bonus weapons / armour ashley / glitches, etc. Gives me a lot of hope to do it myself. Of all the professional runs, yours is the most actually professional that I've seen!
For that axe guy in the factory at the beginning of chapter 2 you can just run behind the bear trap next to the sandbags and he'll get caught in it when he attacks allowing you to install kill him with the knife
I needed this exactly when I seen it. Perfect timing Bawk, also its funny cause you have the speed running down and I have memorized all the treasure locations so as im watching Im thinking the entire time how I can get all the best treasure as I go, cause this route actually had tons of good ones you didnt know about that could have made your run way easier. And I agree with you at the start, lvl'ing pistol is just the way to go. Red9 can be at lvl 3 power when you get it if you sell starting pistol plus the treasures up to that point.
Resident Evil 5 Remake Already a hint for this game.. look at the krauser boss fight that is albert wesker ability to dodge and evade bullet as well, master on unlocking ashley references to jill, after ending you can see Excella Gionne in the monitor and progenitor garden that wesker next villain.
This S rank time requirement is really ridiculous, it makes you panic all the time as the only way to achieve it is to keep running past and avoid fighting anyone which basicially gives anyone a good chance to gradually cut to wear you down and kill you. Beside you will miss a lot of resources which makes it damn hard when fighting bosses. Should really based it on enemy toughness and scarity of resources.
Yeah I think the ranking system in this game is very lazy. Your rank is solely based on speed. What about the number of enemies you take down, the damage you take, the treasures you got? Speedrunning might be "professional" but it's unbelievably boring and frustrating.
Just to clarify you can still use tommy gun on a fresh new game on professional mode to achieve S+ rank? just dont use it on a new game +?. Are the bonus weapons can be used even on a fresh new game?

Wait, one thing I notice is if you reload a save, it still counts all the time you were playing. So why and how would you have time for firing range?? And on top of that, what do you mean about the save file part for it? Last I checked, you are stuck with whatever "seed" the game gives you and you can't change the outcomes of the charms you get Please help, I'm confused lol

I can get through the game.. my problem is I strive to try and kill all enemies, on professional it’s best to be quick.. grab what you can quickly and leave the area. I’m really not looking forward to chapter 15..

I just finished it! Got my cat ears. Chapter 1-7 was hell on earth, bordering on unplayable. But then I got the ticket for the Chicago typewriter infinite ammo and after that it was very manageable, just had to space out my saves smartly.
A couple of things you can do better by chapters Chapter 1: 1. 4:06. You can kill all three crows, its not hard. The first shot to the left one sitting, and the right one will wait for 1-2 seconds before flying, kill it. The third one sitting on the roof - aim at the last wooden plank to the right and slowly walk forward, it will fly exactly in that direction, and its easy to hit it. 2. 5:10. If you open the door between 3 and 3:15 - you can do an optimal walk - first to the right like in the video, then back, around the place where you can lift Ashley up, then to the right, get the furthest box, then one in the building, then one near the barn and red herb. Then go further along the well and jump to the window (villagers triggered). There you will find a guaranteed grenade. Then just jump out to the same window and run to the house. Do the same as in the video and the moment you jumped from the house you will have 2-4 grenades. 3. 6:15. I DONT KNOW what the author did to stun Salazar from the shotgun - probably sold his soul to the devil. So I prefer to use collected grenades to faster the whole sequence (by killing villagers near him too). 4. 12:23. In this sequence you can silently kill villagers (or run around with/kill them), then collect the treasure on the windmill and dom medallions (if you plan to go for a ticket for your weapon of choice. Mine is the basic pistol for x5 rate of heads popping). The optimal path is pretty obvious, you won't spend much time and gain a lot of resources. He also skipped a lot of grasses (yellow, green). Go from the windmill and drop to the second door (where the last medallion should be). From there - you can shoot the medallion, pick one more treasure, and enter the barn. Collect evrth on the first floor, ruby too. Then the lady will jump down, bully starts to smash the door and you go up. collect evrth up too. 5. 13:20 Don't forget shotgun shells lying to the right on boxes. 6. 13:55 - if you go the way I described you can safely collect these boxes too because the bull guy will blow up on c4 and will be far away. 7. 15:00 - you have time to hit boxes to the right 8. 15:10 - shoot the treasure above Chapter 2: 1. 17:02 - just run around him as he will strike one time, kill him with knife jabs to the head. Also, kill rats for pest control. 2. 17:06 - check furnaces to the left 3. 18:14 - completely agree on the first save here. 4. 18:27 - shot the treasure above the bridge from here 5. 18:40 - I prefer the run from the powerpyx video - collecting the additional locker key (unlike in this video), flash grenade, and emblem first, picking the treasure that you shot down, then going for the gates. Won't describe the whole run, as you can check it out there. 6. 20:50 - If you picked a small key like in the run I mentioned above - you can get the elegant mask from the drawer in the place you get your stuff back 7. 21:10 - Treasure above 8. 21:20 - Treasure to the left 9. 22:30 - Treasure in the closet to the right 10. 22:35 - Grenade in the shell to the left Chapter 3: 1. 25:00 - treasure in the drawer doesn't cost you pretty much anytime 2. 26:10 - forgot to take first aid spray on the table I will update it later 3. 29:35 - you can use a simple grenade. Throw it to knock down one wolf (between him and the crows). Crows will die, finish the wolf with a pistol, then you can kill 2 wolfs let if you don't want to lose hp. Also treasure and the medallion above 4. Completely agree on the second save here (My typical time at that point is 35 minutes, considering that i am combining and selling treasures and upgrading pistol power/knife durability) Huge props to the author of the video, it helped me a lot!
4:06 - Surprisingly I've not seen a single person anywhere mention that if you shoot the crow on the left first the second crow takes about a second longer to fly away so you can very easily shoot both. The one on the roof won't fly away when you shoot them either.
Mad respect to this guy basically raw-dogging Professional difficulty. No accessory buffs or deluxe weapons. Just playing the game fast. Although I for one will be doing this with the cat ears. I totally understand those who want to use every available advantage.
@@lucasoftazmily256 If you have the Deluxe treasure map you can skip the dog, make sure you get the Deluxe tresures that are guaranteed Spinels and by Castle you will have 25/26, and the first medallion quest in Castle at the gates will get you to 30.
Professional mode is way too difficult Wish they remove the time limit for the cat ears and id be happy But to speedrun in 5 hours and only saving after chapters is way too much to ask of players since even a bronze trophy is at 0.1% of people completing it And they grab way too much and sprint way too fast in pro mode
@@ItsNoahVG even on assist difficulty, aiming at the head doesnt stun all the time wich is weird since its suppose to be a trade-off Like you get an easy stun, but you risk a plaga coming out and making it harder Unfortnately in the remake, theres just no stuns that are reliable so its all parry and running I died about 47 ish times on a new game on pro mode and it seems impossible with no reliable stuns, and in my opinion a bad crafting system for flash grenades, and too much grabbers on every map with no real counter to a grab other than crouch wich is only situational

5:18 apparently you can just straight up skip Village Fight if you manage to hit the bell with your guns, so you can make it even faster by killing Salvadore, grabbing his reward then sniping the bell and forcing the fight to end then and there
Yeah but only a sniper rifle can hit it which means you need new game plus which invalidates S+ rank. I’ve tried with handguns and the killer 7 as well as rocket launcher. Only a sniper can hit it…
@@GriffinatorOriginal Rocket launcher can hit the bell too, the accuracy on it isn't that good so the rocket will often go a bit off where you aimed. But if it hits the bell, it will ring.

But what you CAN do is unlock the Chicago sweeper and start a new game on pro use it and get the exclusive upgrade to get S+ and then with the cat ears unlocked do another fresh playthrough without any bonus weapons just use infinite ammo to get handcannon. That’s how I did it.
@@EriPineda nope. Costumes and accessories are all viable and safe. Only downside is if you use the sweeper for your first run to unlock cat ears it’s crunch time because you have to farm spinels for an exclusive ticket to get its infinite ammo which means you’ll have to absolutely blast through the game to clear in 5:30. and even then you won’t have enough spinels until around chapter 7 after mendez
It's calming to see that the randomness even hits the pros. The amount of times I got strangely hit or hit during supposed to be I-frame moments like climbing or jumping down...There are also a few grammatical errors and I often get Ashley to T-pose and become unresponsive when rescuing her via cqc knifing. Hope these things will be ironed out in the future
Yeah my experience is the harder I try to push the gameplay the more random bullcrap happens that feels out of my control. One arrow from an off-screen enemy, into a molotov, into a grab, into another grab. That actually happened and it took me from full health to death with no chance to get out of it. It just feels clunky to get locked into grabs and stuns so often. The original feels ten times more mechanically polished, once you understood that game you were 100% in control of the combat sandbox, here I don't feel like that not even close.
Your guide has been super helpful man! My first attempt I was actually matching your pace until chapter 9. During the ashley segment I forgot to save beforehand and ended up dying causing me to restart the chapter. I then died once during the double garrador room which completely killed the run. With a couple more attempts I think I can nail it!
I did so horrible on my first playthrough just the time alone and how many times I saved but it was all worth it cuz I was dead set breaking all the Castellan dolls first go around hoping I'm decent for the second go around. I swear it was easier speeding through the original 😭
I was able to finished RE4 Remake Professional with S+ 5hrs and 23mins of course 15saves with the help of Chicken Hat too. Also used Armored Ashley to make my life easier. Kudos to you for not using Armored Ashley.
Steam says I’ve played this game for 7 hours and I’m only at 56:46. I’m glad to know there’s like 4 more hours worth of speedrun time which means I’m gonna be playing this for quite awhile. So far I’m really enjoying and savoring every little detail of the remake!
Damn I was following this pretty closely, but still behind a little under 30 minutes. Realized you did the Chapter 14 door skip glitch but I’m on console so I think this runs over for me 😢😢😢 EDIT: MADE IT WITH 15 MINUTES TO SPARE!!! BAWK HEAD AND ARMOR SUIT FOR PRO MODE DONT KNOW WHAT HIM EM.

Really? That seems potentially bad for progression. For example if you have the insignia key and skip the house at the end of chapter 2, then how does the game set the stage for chapter 3?
If it's just single use... i guess you could save them and optimize for the better loot from those? Skip out of the way keys. Eh. Still, something like the wayshrine key wouldn't break progression, right? I'd love if we could keep that one, but i think i already sold it on my second playthrough. Whoops. I can check with the cubic device i guess... if i remember.
You can skip "getting the TNT-section" through just shooting the barrier with a Rocket Launcher. Don´t know how much this is worth for speedrunning since the launcher is so expensive but it´s possible.
I feel like you got really lucky with the Salvadore in the Village section, i've been trying this strat for the past 3 hours (probably close to 50 attempts or something) but not only does he barely stun, when he gets stunned, i never manage to get any knife hits in, and my shotgun ammo also isn't enough for him. I even started using my deluxe weapons as they don't seem to block the Handcannon challenge, but so far i only managed to kill him like 2 or 3 times, before being completely overwhelmed by the villagers. This sections is insanely hard!
Yeah, I had to do it a lot too. He was lucky, since he got a stun with the shotgun into a kick and a stab. My two best pieces of advice are to try and stab him as much as possible after knocking him down with the hand grenade, and after running around the village for loot, climbing the tower. You should have enough ammo to keep on knocking him down the ladder till he dies, and the church bell should ring soon after. Good luck!

They're actually paying homage to the dittman glitch by making the striker charm make you move faster, that is just, so good.

@@D.L8602 I beat hardcore today and I can attest. It's pretty unfair in some scenarios because it takes like 5 handgun head shots to stun one villager which is kind of ridiculous.

Deluxe weapons and Chicago sweeper are safe to use for S+ but won’t get you the handcannon. What I did what playthrough pro new game using the sweeper after getting its exclusive upgrade and used Ashley’s armor getting S+ then start another new game with cat ears for infinite ammo not using any storage weapons at all. That’s the easiest way to get handcannon if you are having trouble I think.

@@markusdevlin1973 Np. The trickiest part is doing enough merchant requests by chapter 7 the start of the castle. That’s when the exclusive ticket becomes available and it costs 30 spinels. But let’s you get the infinite ammo exclusive on the Chicago sweeper without upgrading. So after chapter 7 the game gets slightly easier. I was liberal with my saves until chapter 7 and after getting the infinite sweeper started saving less often to stay in the 15 save limit range. Hope it helps. Good luck!

I honestly don’t know how you get so lucky. I’m watching the AIs just let you run right by them, the cabin scene didn’t make you fight 100+ zombies, the rng is so good to you. If a zombie gets a hit in on me (almost impossible to avoid literally) the AI does a two piece combo on me, their throws led are literally heating seeking. This game is so fucking infuriating for me on professional.
It's not just you, the game is borderline unplayable on professional. Way too much random BS that can destroy you with no chance of reacting.

It's not just the head, it apply on every body parts, just head is easier. I blew off zombie's leg on late game by one hit few times with Sen 9 gun.

bro what the hell was that chance at 35:06 ?? all of your charms were insane mine were doggo shit on 4 full game retries lmao even on chapter 5 when I try to take the same exact tactis and routes as you ashley gets catched all the fricking time I literally lost 40 minutes from the church to luis section because she was getting catched everysingle time no matter what so, yeah I used a different strat with 2 flash to pass without an issue with tmp, and clear the pathway for her idk what's wrong with my game but that's rough on every retry she's always far behind even if I stay with her

If you unlocked the handcanon, dlc weapons, tommy gun etc you can use them in your fresh playthrough to get S+!! Just make sure you farm enough money to max them out for the infinite ammo :D GOOD LUCK EVERYONE

How can someone NOT like RE4 Remake? It's perfect! Down to every minute detail! Ashley is not annoying and has a great personality. Luis has a nice redemption arc. Krauser and Leon have an actual history together, and Leon's training is now explained. Ada actually does the right thing at the end (I think Leon and Ada's relationship will get clearer in the future. Ada clearly has a softer spot for Leon in the Remakes). The gameplay is perfect. The best lines and scenes from the OG are still here. Honestly, Capcom should learn from their new Masterpiece, and Remake RE5, RE6 and Code Veronica. I would also love a new game about Operation Javier

@@Bawkbasoup how can you know if you completed each chapter with an S rank so you can know if you need to replay it or no cuz you can see it at the end but thats too late if you need to replay the whole game. I completed it on standart and then on veteran both with B ranks. I was taking my time looting everything and i was loading multiple times from autosaves to do some fights properly. I died only 4 times for the whole veteran run but i loaded multiple times before some fights. Is loading from save/autosave affecting your chapter rank?

You have to Quit game, and then load from the main menu your last save, that way if you are restarting the time won’t be added.

Something I learned the hard way is that there is a secret anti-save scumming feature but there is also a way to get around it. Despite only being given 15 saves, if you constantly reload the last save file you're on, it'll keep adding time to your playthrough. If you reload a separate save file and then go back to the one you were previously on, it resets the time proper. I got an S+ with 9 minutes remaining but in reality, I probably could have ended it with at least 30 had I realized that.

@@RCSe7n lets say you have 1 hour on your save, you play for 30 minutes and die, even if you select continue your timer will still be 1 hour and a half, to reset this you could just go to the main menu and then reload the save instead of the continue button
@@RCSe7n it means that if you reload the save within the game, it adds what you played so far for the total time, if you reload from main menu the timer reloads for whenever you saved.

So many fights that I would get stuck trying to run past, that bawk just makes look easy lol. I'm sure i'll just get stuck again when I try to copy and I'm not sure how much the striker charm helped but it's a learning curve
For anyone else using this as a guide and stuck at chapter 5: Go out the church in the village then go left and down into the sewers. Backstab the one guy, then go up the ladder and go straight up the path past the cow shack. Shoot the molotov in the woman's hand, then go into the building and vault the window, then vault the barricade and take the so youre back where you were when you first entered in chapter 1. Go down that left path and take the ladder that the villagers set up, then kick it down. Then you can drop like normal, and continue to the farm. This doesnt take much longer and its much less likely that they'll grab ashley.
i killed the first guy next to the window, then all came to the window and i left like you did through the sewers, and went straight to the door leading to the farm. That was the way i figured out because Ashley always got caught near the door :C i swear if in the last part of the game, i cant continue (im in the mines, chapter 11) i will use cheat engine, i dont give a fuck, i hate the 15 saves limitation, running out of ammo and heals i tbh dont get hit many times neither miss shots.

12:36 - You don't actually have to shoot the padlock itself to open the door. Simply shooting the door is enough.
I've watched a few S+ runs and this is was hands down the most genuinely skilled and prepared one I've seen, especially for when you put it out. Enjoyed watching this one the most - can't believe you did so well without the bonus weapons / armour ashley / glitches, etc. Gives me a lot of hope to do it myself. Of all the professional runs, yours is the most actually professional that I've seen!
I like his gameplay because he didn't do glitch skips like other speedrunners, he actually played the game.

For that axe guy in the factory at the beginning of chapter 2 you can just run behind the bear trap next to the sandbags and he'll get caught in it when he attacks allowing you to install kill him with the knife

I needed this exactly when I seen it. Perfect timing Bawk, also its funny cause you have the speed running down and I have memorized all the treasure locations so as im watching Im thinking the entire time how I can get all the best treasure as I go, cause this route actually had tons of good ones you didnt know about that could have made your run way easier. And I agree with you at the start, lvl'ing pistol is just the way to go. Red9 can be at lvl 3 power when you get it if you sell starting pistol plus the treasures up to that point.
I think speedruns should be invalid if you dont save the dog XD
Resident Evil 5 Remake Already a hint for this game.. look at the krauser boss fight that is albert wesker ability to dodge and evade bullet as well, master on unlocking ashley references to jill,
after ending you can see Excella Gionne in the monitor and progenitor garden that wesker next villain.

This S rank time requirement is really ridiculous, it makes you panic all the time as the only way to achieve it is to keep running past and avoid fighting anyone which basicially gives anyone a good chance to gradually cut to wear you down and kill you. Beside you will miss a lot of resources which makes it damn hard when fighting bosses. Should really based it on enemy toughness and scarity of resources.
Yeah I think the ranking system in this game is very lazy. Your rank is solely based on speed. What about the number of enemies you take down, the damage you take, the treasures you got? Speedrunning might be "professional" but it's unbelievably boring and frustrating.
Just to clarify you can still use tommy gun on a fresh new game on professional mode to achieve S+ rank? just dont use it on a new game +?. Are the bonus weapons can be used even on a fresh new game?

Wait, one thing I notice is if you reload a save, it still counts all the time you were playing. So why and how would you have time for firing range?? And on top of that, what do you mean about the save file part for it? Last I checked, you are stuck with whatever "seed" the game gives you and you can't change the outcomes of the charms you get Please help, I'm confused lol
If you go to main menu and reload save, it goes back to the time that you had when you first made the save
I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT!!! Make sure to quit out before you load saves or it counts to IGT! I didn't realize until way into my run lol
The seed is fixed for each token combination. You reload to switch up how many golds you use in each roll, and it will change thre results

I can get through the game.. my problem is I strive to try and kill all enemies, on professional it’s best to be quick.. grab what you can quickly and leave the area. I’m really not looking forward to chapter 15..

Honestly this is soul crushing so far.
I just finished it! Got my cat ears.
Chapter 1-7 was hell on earth, bordering on unplayable. But then I got the ticket for the Chicago typewriter infinite ammo and after that it was very manageable, just had to space out my saves smartly.
Just finished a play through on a new save without ANY bonus weapons. All from scratch. I’ve yet to see any RUclipsr do this
A couple of things you can do better by chapters
Chapter 1:
1. 4:06. You can kill all three crows, its not hard. The first shot to the left one sitting, and the right one will wait for 1-2 seconds before flying, kill it. The third one sitting on the roof - aim at the last wooden plank to the right and slowly walk forward, it will fly exactly in that direction, and its easy to hit it.
2. 5:10. If you open the door between 3 and 3:15 - you can do an optimal walk - first to the right like in the video, then back, around the place where you can lift Ashley up, then to the right, get the furthest box, then one in the building, then one near the barn and red herb. Then go further along the well and jump to the window (villagers triggered). There you will find a guaranteed grenade. Then just jump out to the same window and run to the house. Do the same as in the video and the moment you jumped from the house you will have 2-4 grenades.
3. 6:15. I DONT KNOW what the author did to stun Salazar from the shotgun - probably sold his soul to the devil. So I prefer to use collected grenades to faster the whole sequence (by killing villagers near him too).
4. 12:23. In this sequence you can silently kill villagers (or run around with/kill them), then collect the treasure on the windmill and dom medallions (if you plan to go for a ticket for your weapon of choice. Mine is the basic pistol for x5 rate of heads popping). The optimal path is pretty obvious, you won't spend much time and gain a lot of resources. He also skipped a lot of grasses (yellow, green). Go from the windmill and drop to the second door (where the last medallion should be). From there - you can shoot the medallion, pick one more treasure, and enter the barn. Collect evrth on the first floor, ruby too. Then the lady will jump down, bully starts to smash the door and you go up. collect evrth up too.
5. 13:20 Don't forget shotgun shells lying to the right on boxes.
6. 13:55 - if you go the way I described you can safely collect these boxes too because the bull guy will blow up on c4 and will be far away.
7. 15:00 - you have time to hit boxes to the right
8. 15:10 - shoot the treasure above
Chapter 2:
1. 17:02 - just run around him as he will strike one time, kill him with knife jabs to the head. Also, kill rats for pest control.
2. 17:06 - check furnaces to the left
3. 18:14 - completely agree on the first save here.
4. 18:27 - shot the treasure above the bridge from here
5. 18:40 - I prefer the run from the powerpyx video - collecting the additional locker key (unlike in this video), flash grenade, and emblem first, picking the treasure that you shot down, then going for the gates. Won't describe the whole run, as you can check it out there.
6. 20:50 - If you picked a small key like in the run I mentioned above - you can get the elegant mask from the drawer in the place you get your stuff back
7. 21:10 - Treasure above
8. 21:20 - Treasure to the left
9. 22:30 - Treasure in the closet to the right
10. 22:35 - Grenade in the shell to the left
Chapter 3:
1. 25:00 - treasure in the drawer doesn't cost you pretty much anytime
2. 26:10 - forgot to take first aid spray on the table
I will update it later
3. 29:35 - you can use a simple grenade. Throw it to knock down one wolf (between him and the crows). Crows will die, finish the wolf with a pistol, then you can kill 2 wolfs let if you don't want to lose hp. Also treasure and the medallion above
4. Completely agree on the second save here (My typical time at that point is 35 minutes, considering that i am combining and selling treasures and upgrading pistol power/knife durability)

4:06 - Surprisingly I've not seen a single person anywhere mention that if you shoot the crow on the left first the second crow takes about a second longer to fly away so you can very easily shoot both. The one on the roof won't fly away when you shoot them either.

@@lucasoftazmily256 If you have the Deluxe treasure map you can skip the dog, make sure you get the Deluxe tresures that are guaranteed Spinels and by Castle you will have 25/26, and the first medallion quest in Castle at the gates will get you to 30.

And they grab way too much and sprint way too fast in pro mode

Like you get an easy stun, but you risk a plaga coming out and making it harder
Unfortnately in the remake, theres just no stuns that are reliable so its all parry and running
I died about 47 ish times on a new game on pro mode and it seems impossible with no reliable stuns, and in my opinion a bad crafting system for flash grenades, and too much grabbers on every map with no real counter to a grab other than crouch wich is only situational

Or add accesories for parries like they did with the gas mask for aim assist
@Fangs Vengeful crouch not even able to dodge grab, apparently you need to do "perfect crouch" for that as well
Charms Dont Carry over into a Fresh Game so how did you get S+? you had the Ditman Charm! or am i missing something Im just looking for any and every advantage man lol

Currently doing my first ever play-through on Hardcore of this remake.
5:18 apparently you can just straight up skip Village Fight if you manage to hit the bell with your guns, so you can make it even faster by killing Salvadore, grabbing his reward then sniping the bell and forcing the fight to end then and there
Yeah but only a sniper rifle can hit it which means you need new game plus which invalidates S+ rank. I’ve tried with handguns and the killer 7 as well as rocket launcher. Only a sniper can hit it…
@@GriffinatorOriginal Rocket launcher can hit the bell too, the accuracy on it isn't that good so the rocket will often go a bit off where you aimed. But if it hits the bell, it will ring.
@@Hiki_Ismo ah I see… I figured I might be missing lol still can only be done in ng+ tho. But what you CAN do is unlock the Chicago sweeper and start a new game on pro use it and get the exclusive upgrade to get S+ and then with the cat ears unlocked do another fresh playthrough without any bonus weapons just use infinite ammo to get handcannon. That’s how I did it.
@@GriffinatorOriginal if you mention the cat ears this means using armor for Ashley doesn't invalidate the no bonuses weapons challenge?
@@EriPineda nope. Costumes and accessories are all viable and safe. Only downside is if you use the sweeper for your first run to unlock cat ears it’s crunch time because you have to farm spinels for an exclusive ticket to get its infinite ammo which means you’ll have to absolutely blast through the game to clear in 5:30. and even then you won’t have enough spinels until around chapter 7 after mendez

It's calming to see that the randomness even hits the pros. The amount of times I got strangely hit or hit during supposed to be I-frame moments like climbing or jumping down...There are also a few grammatical errors and I often get Ashley to T-pose and become unresponsive when rescuing her via cqc knifing. Hope these things will be ironed out in the future
i got salazar stuck in a loop and he just circled the arena and stopped attacking lol
Yeah my experience is the harder I try to push the gameplay the more random bullcrap happens that feels out of my control. One arrow from an off-screen enemy, into a molotov, into a grab, into another grab. That actually happened and it took me from full health to death with no chance to get out of it. It just feels clunky to get locked into grabs and stuns so often.
The original feels ten times more mechanically polished, once you understood that game you were 100% in control of the combat sandbox, here I don't feel like that not even close.
I think i played 20 hours just to get to the same point bawk did in 2 hours. lmao
Your guide has been super helpful man! My first attempt I was actually matching your pace until chapter 9. During the ashley segment I forgot to save beforehand and ended up dying causing me to restart the chapter. I then died once during the double garrador room which completely killed the run. With a couple more attempts I think I can nail it!
I did so horrible on my first playthrough just the time alone and how many times I saved but it was all worth it cuz I was dead set breaking all the Castellan dolls first go around hoping I'm decent for the second go around. I swear it was easier speeding through the original 😭

I was able to finished RE4 Remake Professional with S+ 5hrs and 23mins of course 15saves with the help of Chicken Hat too.
Also used Armored Ashley to make my life easier.
Kudos to you for not using Armored Ashley.
I intend to play the game in S + pro, with guns and knives and without treating myself wish me good luck! for this ultimate challenge!
Very good job to already speedrunning this category, personally im kinda frustrated about the perfect parry which seems very inconsistent
Steam says I’ve played this game for 7 hours and I’m only at 56:46. I’m glad to know there’s like 4 more hours worth of speedrun time which means I’m gonna be playing this for quite awhile. So far I’m really enjoying and savoring every little detail of the remake!
I did the same thing. My first playthrough lasted 20h
I got 24 and a half hours out of my first run cause i was taking it all in and walking a lot of the way
Damn I was following this pretty closely, but still behind a little under 30 minutes. Realized you did the Chapter 14 door skip glitch but I’m on console so I think this runs over for me 😢😢😢

Fun fact, if you don’t sell the sellable keys, in subsequent playthroughs you have them in your inventory.

Really? That seems potentially bad for progression. For example if you have the insignia key and skip the house at the end of chapter 2, then how does the game set the stage for chapter 3?
@@FentyMixx i think it might be for the single use keys. when i started a ng+, none of the other keys that i was holding onto crossed over.
If it's just single use... i guess you could save them and optimize for the better loot from those? Skip out of the way keys. Eh. Still, something like the wayshrine key wouldn't break progression, right? I'd love if we could keep that one, but i think i already sold it on my second playthrough. Whoops. I can check with the cubic device i guess... if i remember.
You can skip "getting the TNT-section" through just shooting the barrier with a Rocket Launcher.
Don´t know how much this is worth for speedrunning since the launcher is so expensive but it´s possible.
Also: Rocket Launcher speeds up the Wrecking Ball Scene when shooting at the wallcrack

I feel like you got really lucky with the Salvadore in the Village section, i've been trying this strat for the past 3 hours (probably close to 50 attempts or something) but not only does he barely stun, when he gets stunned, i never manage to get any knife hits in, and my shotgun ammo also isn't enough for him. I even started using my deluxe weapons as they don't seem to block the Handcannon challenge, but so far i only managed to kill him like 2 or 3 times, before being completely overwhelmed by the villagers. This sections is insanely hard!
Yeah, I had to do it a lot too. He was lucky, since he got a stun with the shotgun into a kick and a stab. My two best pieces of advice are to try and stab him as much as possible after knocking him down with the hand grenade, and after running around the village for loot, climbing the tower. You should have enough ammo to keep on knocking him down the ladder till he dies, and the church bell should ring soon after. Good luck!
