I made a shorter loop, starting like you did in Plainville and went straight north until the trail ends at Arch rd. in Avon. West on Arch rd. to route 167, north on Rt. 167 about 2 miles, take left on Woodmont rd. to Route177. North on Route 177 about 2 miles, and it brings you to the Farmington River Trail north of Collinsville at Route 44.. Total around 25 miles. I'd say about 5 miles are road riding.

We are headed up to the Farmington Canal Loop next month to ride! Thanks for video. It looks like you explore that area often from your other videos. What is your favorite trail in the area and why? Speaking of bears, while we were riding the Greenbrier Rail Trail in WV, we met a couple who had 2 juvinile bears run along side of them playing. I was so jealous . It would have been amazing to get THAT on video. No bears, but still a beautiful ride. Here is the Greenbrier video if your interested in checking out the trail ruclips.net/video/lyysWYoLWmM/видео.html. We subscribed and look forward to future videos.

Would this terrain suit a road tire/bike?

Bears seem to like hanging around hiking trails. The likely reason is they are hoping to get food from hikers. Some hikers don't think about the consequences of feeding wildlife.
