To perform this at a festival where a lot of the audience doesn't know it and to have them in the palm of your hand is breathtaking. This was the performance of the whole festival for me, i was right up front and could see every expression on Guy's face it was sublime. I adored 'The Bones of You' but this blew me away with how much more I enjoyed it live compared to recorded.
....this was one of those amazing moments that you actually get transported somewhere else, another level, so thankful that there are musicians that can do this to/for us. Incredible.
Because nothing can be right .......even an epic motherfunking performance like this.......nothing can be right .....Thank You Elbow, from the bottom of my rotten soul, Thank You
Considerazioni: Gli Elbow sono la cosa più vicina ai primi Genesis. Semplicemente il miglior gruppo degli ultimi 25 anni. Dopo di loro i Coldplay. Asleep In The Back è un capolavoro. Questo pezzo ha un avvio di una dolcezza inarrivabile. Capolavoro.
saw them play this live at the apollo in manchester back in 2016 it was exactly as i remember it , stunning arrangement sung and played with absolute passion and warmth..
Id had a LOT of mushrooms but im pretty sure i heard this on a visit to band on the wall one special night. Asleep at the back will always be in my top 10 albums. Peace and love
Took me ages to come to the conclusion he’s talking about old age and possibly dementia, It feels like a son of a parent who’s watching decline I’ve lost my parents and grandparents. I just found relation between his lyrics and my experience, thoughts too.
Beautiful song. One of my favourites when they sung this at Hammersmith Apollo earlier this year! And I got right to the front. Make more beautiful songs like this guys :)
They've played the sunset slot at Glastonbury a few times but I've always said they should headline - they would be a great closing act on Sunday. So much great material they could easily fill 2 hours.
Great performance but it's a shame you don't get the sense of the bass watching it on a computer. The one thing I still remember from seeing them tour Leaders of the Free World was the intensity of the bass through the entire room. Never felt it like that before or since.
I heard someone say they dropped powder blue coz its unreachable for guy these days. But I've seen this live four times and think well OK then.... If we can only get one I'm glad newborn came back.
Powder Blue has this loooooong note while Newborn has very high notes that still work when he belts it. Gabe has a similar song, Rhythm of the heat, where he belts a long note. And I got similar feelings when Garv belts "Never a CHOOOOOICE!" as Gabe's "The Rhythm got my SOOOOOUUUUL!!"

Fucking amazing performance, one of my favourite Elbow songs ever
Seen them many times including this headline set which was amazing - a rare outing for one of their best songs. They should play it more often.
This song started it all for me as far as Elbow is concerned...way back in 2000/2001 ish.....I still think this is their Opus

im not afraid to say … tears are streaming .. the voice of god
One of the most amazing love songs out there by far.
Their greatest song. Forever. ORGASMATIC!!
How have 17 people disliked this? It is mind blowing.
Coldplay have alts
They have no soul
Still the most underrated band in history.

Ever since I first saw this song live, it's been my favourite live experience. I'm so glad they went back to it - I hope it sticks around

Great to hear them performing stuff from the back catalogue again!
this is a most beautiful brick through the front window.....
chills. I can only dream of what it would be like to see these guys live 🥲
True musicians! Guy's voice is magic 😍❤✨

This has always been one of my favourite if your songs! Love you guys
Watching the crowd here reminds me of seeing them in later times, most people are there for "A day like this" - ah well, the changing of the guard !
Ive always said this is one of their best ones!!!
Just had an eargasm. That is all.

This is the stuff I love. Not gone on their new stuff as much...
Absolute... Quality
If I didn't know better ( I don't) this was a masterpiece they may never have thought would be given such a large stage. Still my favourite of theirs.

My favourite Elbow song at my favourite festival x
A humble bow to Elbow! art in the purest form
Oh, my heart!
The greatest song ever

they have always been an incredibly gifted live band
Headphones on and turn it up loud!!! Superb!
AMAZING!!
Timeless
Gran músico Banda
Beautiful song
How does Guy still do that huge note at the end? Does he ever age?
+bananapotato He's so close to Peter Gabriel... and Gabriel hits the notes at over 60 years old. I hope Guy will be like him, too.

@@KatinkaKoschka in fairness the big note at the end of powder blue is still really fucking high its massively impressive on the record
Introduction song for me from Elbow, Hooked!
Awesome
Rolon!
Fucking marvellous
5:35 - 6:40
Love not by degrees. :)
Radiohead"s cool vibe...
It's a Genesis homage based on Entangled.
Preferred muse's but this is great :D
+kane Daly But this isn't a Muse cover?
There's a song by Muse with the same name - Kane meant that he preferred Muse's song 'Newborn' over this one, by Elbow.
Too low the sound of distortion...
