Utterly incredible, as in, I'd think I hallucinated it, only my brain couldn't come up with this. So many moments of "hey I was just listening to that song recently" and then it's gone. I actually laughed out loud hearing Cocteau Twins, I never expected that in any mashup.
Thank you! I was really happy to include some great bands and artists that never get used (like Cocteau Twins) because they aren't the usual Rock Band samples. AI has made using basically anything possible and it's amazing.
Jason Paradise played this and I listened to it just today. I got hit out of nowhere with a song that sounded familiar in the background, and only when I heard the words of Hate Me did I have to choke and nearly burst into tears. A few of the ending songs also helped me with finally overcoming the wall that is letting go of someone I love very much, but can no longer talk to. Thank you for finally giving me the inspiration to take a breath and just let it go. I think I'm gonna be fine now.
I have literally listened to the second track at least 5 times before moving on because it's taking so long to process everything that's going on in my brain. the MORE x Anxiety drop felt like a shotgun blast to the chest. I can't fucking wait to spend the entire rest of my afternoon going insane over these tracks. i've been listening to Passages on genuine repeat for the past couple days but somehow didn't listen to this until now. Your mashups are incredible and make me feel so many emotions both in the content of the songs you put together (like the ending of passages) and the sheer insanity of how it all gets thrown in the melting pot making me wanna rip my hair out. Good fucking shit.

Just realised I'm a day off the anniversary of this while writing this lmao but just wanted to say this album has been a mainstay for me since it debuted, and is one of the absolute top on my list the whole time! Every mashup is an absolute banger in their own right, but Remembered I'm Bad at Love, One Last Sunset, and ESPECIALLY Say You'll Never Get Over Me always hit hard emotionally, and recently I Really Like You too! All are constant repeats in their own right. This and Passages I always come back to and lovejust as much every time. I can't wait to hear what comes next! Thanks Vix :)

I think...Pass the White Flag might be my fav. Especially the end. Maybe Say You'll Never Get Over Me. I was once gonna do mashups long ago, but.......well, one: i was a teen and had no idea what I was doing and two...they sucked XD. I did a few more recently, but I don't wanna get copystruck cos I'm not a big creator. However, in saying that. I did post a few that I knew were ok. What I'm saying is: this was amazing and I love getting all emotional over songs. I have for years. I think I got as worked up as JasonParadise did when he FC'd this.

Great song about emotions there. I mean, I love a lot of 80s stuff too, but songs that make me feel emotions or tell a story from most eras, I'll enjoy. So I think we're on the same page.
i know this is OLD OLD, but i found this on my own with a "i wonder if vixoria has released anything, i haven't looked in a while" and oh my GOD, i'm so glad i did! this all goes crazy and has the quality of "if i didn't know the songs already you could convice me these were the originals" (minus a few lol) that only really skilled mashes get, i'm proud to say i keep coming back to passages and i'll absolutely be doing the same to vivid
Say You'll Never Get Over Me is an absolute Master Class on how to put together a mashup to be a masterpiece! In fact, all the songs are incredible, I just find that one to be my favorite.

My fave is a superclose tie between tracks 3, 5 and 11, but pretty much everything here was *masterwork,* Vixoria is among the best of the best in the entire mashup genre. And with no pitch-shifting? cmon!!
I have a soft spot for TS, so my favorite overall Track is 5 / "I Didn't Like the Ending", but my favorite expectation switch moment was the middle of Track 8 / "Say You'll Never Get Over Me".
i told myself i’d give vivid some time to sit with me before giving my thoughts. it’s probably been long enough! passages was a standout when i first listened to it, so it’s funny how effortlessly vivid laps it. there really isn’t a miss here. vivid starts strong and only gets stronger as the songs go on. this is genuinely one of the most emotional, consistent, and well-mixed projects of its kind that i’ve listened to. i think my only real point of criticism is that there are a couple songs that outshine track 11 by quite a bit, so i’m always _slightly_ disappointed that the album doesn’t end on one of those, but track 11 still feels like a fitting ending so i’m not too bothered. this album has gradually worked its way into my regular rotation, my family enjoys putting it on in the car, and i’ve already started using portions of it as animation warmups. those are the marks of a mashup album that’ll stick with me for years to come, i’d say! final verdict: i-came-up-with-a-full-set-of-music-videos/10

You never fail to impress me, like damn the way you craft these incredibly captivating, hard-hitting, emotionally gripping, fantastically crisp bangers out of so many different samples, telling a story by recontextualizing the lyrics and putting them together in such creative ways is inspiring, so poetic too. Beautifully poetic intro, really sets the mood. I realized you are really really good at crafting a banger captivating chorus out of multiple songs and vocal lines like damn that hit. Remembered I’m Bad At Love had me singing along like crazy to Miley, Halsey, R.E.M, Yes, what a banger like woo. The back and forth between Carly Rae and Lamb of God on the abtly and beautifully titled "I Really Like You! (Who Gives A F**k?)" is absolutely genius, fits together sonically and thematically so brilliantly despite the hilarious juxtaposition. The transitions on I didnt like the ending are so good, the incorporation of 745 sticky, Taylor and Justin Vernon soaring on this instrumental, just the base of putting Bad Apple on The Killers which creates this incredible atmospheric banger, absolute genius. Holy shit once again my jaw on the floor through a mere interlude, never would I have thought I'd hear the Maneater Sax with Riders of the Storm create such a beautifully raw atmosphere. Once again brilliantly recontexualizing both lyrics and especially instruments here. Beautiful. Wow. I am once again blown away by the instrumental transitions you manage to pull off. From those banger riffs to the sweet and gentle pianos. Without losing momentum one bit. Fantastic. Also love the musical variety you always have, with a big part of track 7 utilizing a Hip-Hop song which flows amazingly on those guitars and drums. Really loved the use of the Purity Ring - begin again melody too. Replayed this one 3 times right away. The incorporation of Hard Times is so damn creative on Say You'll Never Get Over Me and damn that chorus with Say it Right just hits that sweet spot. Viva la Vida just elevates the whole thing so perfectly too. Probably one of my favourites you've ever made. A Kreayshawn sample. Fuck yes. God you have taste. And then you hit me with a White Flag mashup man I cant handle this. You consistently pick such good samples it's amazing. Love is a battlefield is such a brilliant choice here. The transition back to White Flag towards the end with Night Lovell coming in? Breathtaking. And a Kyoto Mashup for the Finale. Fantastic. You really just took this emotionally already quite powerful track and made it hard-hitting in a whole different, new devestating way. And a brilliant use of an Oasis song you dont really hear in mashups, I love it. The transition with Evanescence? So sweet. At the end I really do feel like I just learned how to fly. Right into the Sunset. Just Wow. Bookending it with Guns N’ Roses - This I Love and Peggy Lee - Is That All There Is? You really have a knack for crafting something truly poetic out of all these different songs and lyrics. What an experience once again. Had me feeling more emotions in 35 mins than a lot of albums do in over an hour. Simply hats off to you, brilliant work that truly oozes passion and creativity. Keep doing what you're doing, it genuinely makes my day every single time.

Some things are from Rock Band, some things are made with AI, some things I find other places. I have a personal database I made to help me look for ideas and I like to try a LOT of possibilities and see what works best. It takes a lot of time, but it has led me to some pretty wild combos I'd never have thought of just waiting for inspiration to hit me or if I settled for the first thing that worked.
@@vixoriadrift what does the database look like? Your ideas are the best I've heard. NOT asking for access, just what it literally looks like. Layout, program, etc.
It's pretty much just a spreadsheet (google sheets/excel) with artist, title, key, bpm, notes about weird chords (and key changes, etc) and some sorting tools for finding stuff one semitone away and stuff like that. Even my first ever mashup idea was found using that, and I've just expanded and modified it consistently over the course of the last few years, adding more and more columns and rows. I figure out all the keys myself and have a couple thousand songs in there, and I think that process is what improved my ability to tell key and chords most since starting. I made mistakes in the beginning, but you get better and better at it and then it becomes really easy to find the key for most songs and notice things that make a big impact on what songs it will fit with.
every single time you use pierce the veil in a mashup the original song is ruined for me because you make it fit so well the original just sounds worse in comparison

Some things are from Rock Band, some things are made with AI, some things I find other places. I have a personal database I made to help me look for ideas and I like to try a LOT of possibilities and see what works best. It takes a lot of time, but it has led me to some pretty wild combos I'd never have thought of just waiting for inspiration to hit me or if I settled for the first thing that worked.

NOT asking for access, just what it literally looks like. Layout, program, etc.
It's pretty much just a spreadsheet (google sheets/excel) with artist, title, key, bpm, notes about weird chords (and key changes, etc) and some sorting tools for finding stuff one semitone away and stuff like that. Even my first ever mashup idea was found using that, and I've just expanded and modified it consistently over the course of the last few years, adding more and more columns and rows. I figure out all the keys myself and have a couple thousand songs in there, and I think that process is what improved my ability to tell key and chords most since starting. I made mistakes in the beginning, but you get better and better at it and then it becomes really easy to find the key for most songs and notice things that make a big impact on what songs it will fit with.

every single time you use pierce the veil in a mashup the original song is ruined for me because you make it fit so well the original just sounds worse in comparison
