"Level 2 Mass Produced Sledgehammers cost the same as normal level 1, but have more stats" Thank you! I always avoided leveling up Mass Produced units because I mistakenly compared it to a level 2 normal. That was an error on my part.
There's merit in both school of thoughts. In this game, I wanted to level at least once because I needed my front-row tanks to take more punishment vs his tanks. Back line tanks can remain at lvl 1 because I need more quantity to distract his big sabers after his frontline is wiped.
Ha. I never thought to make "hp to shots to kill" comparisons on leveled-up units, so didn't even think that upgrading tanks is so weak. Also never thought of doubleshot as a way to get next-lvl damage without leveling. Tjanksa for the video!
This match seems like a pretty good example of what can happen if you invest too much into single-unit damage and not enough into efficient chaff clear.
@@RoninXiC Opponent had 7 Sabertooth's (Saberteeth?) but only 4 sledges with mech rage. He definitely didn't have enough chaff clear, especially for Stoney's mass produced tanks and shielded fangs. Opponent needed Stormcallers or Vulcans or something like that. Stoney essentially had 14 units of chaff against 4 chaff clear units (19 units of chaff if you count the shielded fangs as double, which I would if opponent doesn't have Vulcans or fire on the ground).
Fantastic match! I wonder if placing a shield on your right tower in the round with the orbital bombardment would have hurt your board for the later rounds. Personally, I would have spent $100 to keep the marksmen alive for that round.
For what I see just going with steel balls and crawler tech and this guy had 0 chance of wining.... but sometimes games are worth losing for a good laugh XD
That's the awesome thing about Mechabellum, there is no such thing as a perfect board that can't be countered. But in the time it takes to build up your crawler and steel ball, what is Stoney pivoting too? Can your new board beat Stoney's new board? Can you pivot as you see your opponent pivoting and counter the board he is starting to build?
Skins do exist, and levels add a lot of colour but the game mostly relies on unit outlines to make them easily distinguishable. Never had an issue with it myself, but i can understand some people wishing it had the variety of, say, starcraft.
"What do you see?"
"Tanks."
"How many?"
"Millions. In fact, tanks a million."
Woof! I've always thought of scorpions as 'Tank Destroyers.' This game was such a great example of them doing just that.

- How many TANKS do you want sir?
- Yes
Opponent made a huge mistake trying to go carry tanks without stormcallers or mustangs backing them up.

But.... he didn't? Mechrage and a few levelups on 4 sledgehammers. Not 10, not 3-4 Upgrages.

Great stuff as always Stoney

Scopion needs nerfing.
Scorpion does feel like it oppresses ground play.
Melter can take care of the scorp problem efficiently
Wish this game had some way to make units stand out more, everything looks so washed out! Not v spectator friendly
nah, it would be even more distracting, game is information dense as is.
