    OB is great for the sport in terms of marketability and whatnot. He’s deserving of respect for being amongst the strongest humans on earth. But the reality is, he barely competed in comparison to his peers. His one claim to fame is the American log press record, which the only footage is some grainy cell phone footage from 2015 (on bis RUclips channel of course). He talks so much more then he backs up: Claims to have the strongest shoulders in America even when multiple Americans have been out-pressing him for years. Claims he’s going to do comps he doesn’t show for (the Strongest Nation one for example). Did zero comps for years and still got the invite to World’s year after year when better, more deserving guys were busting their asses in the Giants Live tour and/or the Arnold’s every year actually qualifying, but they aren’t friends with the right people. Talks trash on Loz, who has accomplished a metric ton more in Strongman, just bc Loz (rightfully) questioned his abilities. And then there is this attempt to glorify himself, and self-assign credit & accolades that don’t actually exist.

    Why does Pudzianowski not get mentioned among the greats? The only 5 time worlds strongest man..

    • @woolyrhino640
      @woolyrhino640 4 месяца назад +1

      The era when Pudzianowski dominated was during a period when the world's strongest man split into two factions essentially. The other half of the competitors were competing in another competition(ifbb I'm not sure exaftly) that had no exchange with wsm. Big Z was in the other group until he eventually made it to Wsm. Z was also the dominate champion of the other sect. So the athletes Mariuz competed against is debated as to who was the true champ. I still think Mariuz was amazing, but that is part of the reason he is left out of some of those conversations.

      How do you even determine the GOAT of the NFL? There's so many positions that by nature can't contribute, only by one dimension. The QB, RB, WR, TE, and such have much more valuable and active roles that it's unfair to the Center, LB, DL, OL, etc. because there's multiple players of the same role at once. With basketball and baseball, it's more simplified. Basketball has 5 positions on at once, and 1 can do the roles of all 5 if he wanted to.

    So interesting that everyone is selling characters & entertainment with their sports,. It's not just for pro-wrestling. Strongman, MMA and other sports need "stars with personality" to excel.

    I also grew up moving around alot also a big kid (330lbs 6ft at 16) but i never really got into sports like football i instead spent most of my time outside of school doing auto repair doing things anywhere from pushing cars, trucks around, and lifting engines/ transmissions around. i sometimes also would help my aunt on her farm dragging hogs around moving feed bags putting in fences. i never really had friends if anything i got bullied alot and i could obviously really stopped them given size and power but ive always been humble super kindhearted, but i was always quiet and never fit in anywhere. i can say this seeing robert and brian be who they are you 2 have been huge role models for me but i never got the opportunity to do anything close to strongman stuff and wish i could have. love what you 2 do and keep it up

    Great podcast. I loved History's Strongest Man. Can't wait to see Robert in Righteous Gemstones. Something stuck out to me when you were talking about the show, and how you were hoping for more seasons, because I was too. You've probably thought about this, but have you tried pitching another show? The historical feats of strength was a good model, but I think the selling point was the personalities and how you guys got on together. Just seeing the bits of travel, and the four of you in restaurants and hotels was like a show within the show. I know things will continue to go well for you guys. Stay strong.
