  • Jambi City is a city on the island of Sumatra and is the capital of Jambi province, Indonesia. This city is divided by the Batanghari river which is the longest river on the island of Sumatra. The two areas are connected by the Gentala Arasy bridge, the first pedestrian bridge over a river in Indonesia which has a curved contour like the letter S. Jambi City is an enclave of the Muaro Jambi district which has an area of around 205.38 km².
    The anniversary of Jambi City was determined on May 28, 1401 based on Jambi City regional regulation number 3 of 2014. In consideration it was stated that the determination of this anniversary could not be separated from the historical momentum of the discovery of selected land by the King of Jambi, Putri Selaras Pinang Masak with a pair of geese, which occurred on May 28, 1401 AD. Selected Land is located along the military resort commander's official residence to the Al-Falah Grand Mosque.
