Remember when Lorne lanning showed a meme about exoddus that said half the heart twice the flavour i... i think he and the rest of oddworld inhabitants took that to close to heart and ended up making that meme a true reality with soulstorm. This just lacks any and all personality yea its atmospheric as hell but i sure as hell wont remember this over the OG Slig barracks.
No it doesn't and it does have personality and the game does have the same heart as the og its just own separate thing and it is what exodus was going to be before sony pushed them for 8 months on development it is just a bonus game and not sequel to abes odyssey and also don't be so harsh my dude i highly doubt thats the case the ost is stil really memorable it give me strangers wrath vibe and also people said the same thing exodus when that game first came out and still do so its kinda hypocritical if you ask me this game amazing and people are being too harsh on it only because of nostalgia and refuse to give credit where credit is due but hey thats the fandom for ya 😗
@@raphaelbrown6314 I think the cut scenes are way more emotionally impactful here, You feel the weight of the situation a lot more here then what u did in exodus at points. like when Abe learns the truth of his people that shit hits like a ton of bricks not only to Abe but us as well ya just feel horrible for Abe. however... that is now waiting on a sequel to really go anywhere. Going back to the other side though outside of mullock the 3 new glukkons lack alot of that oddworld flavour. That over the top personality is just gone for more grounded ones which just doesnt hit at all they arent quotable they aren't memorable there just there. the game play doesn't feel like that classic grid based style so the whole thing kinda just feels off at least to me (each to there own) and boy howdy did Abe never wanna properly grab things for me. I don't think the game is a write off not at all and it does have its fans and i really hope the series keeps going i need to know what happens. But this isn't the oddworld i wanna play and thats ok :) i will keep supporting the series no matter what.
