While it is in tap mode, the dials set the type of note you want the delay to be. The What he does is he has two delays active on this one pedal. Delay A is set to a dotted 1/8 note, and delay B set to a 1/8 note. The volume mix between the two delays is set such that delay B is roughly 1/4 the volume of delay A. Slight correction for anyone who cares. Over the years(at least live shows) his delays have been a Memory Man to Korg SDD 3000 and TC Electronics 2290 (with the deep modulation prom). Last few tours he’s using the Tc2290 sim in the Fractal Audio Fx2 - using it for delay and for shimmer. For Bad live he’s used both just one delay and very possibly a second on some tours but the second lower volume one is set to a longer time than 1/8 note - somewhere in the lower 500ms range.

This is the best cover of a U2 song I've ever heard. Properly went for the vocals and nailed it. You only need to watch Chris Martin or Bruce Springsteen (both of whom I like a lot) in their recent attempts at the World AIDS day concert to realize how difficult it is to try and fill his shoes. Sadly, many (though not all) of Bono's attempts nowadays don't compare to his 80's and early 90's vocals. Best of luck to you Zanderbleck :)
Louis Brijmohun Very True Louis. I was very disappointed with Chris Martin and Bruce S. singing with the U2 Band (due to Bono's accident). Both performances fell flat... and not for a lack of effort. This cover is very good... Also, regarding Bono's voice, I think he was at a low point during Popmart and probably his best during ZooTV. He can't high the really high notes anymore that well, but still the best band on the planet. Hands down... Currently in Vancouver the last couple weeks rehearsing in upcoming tour! Can't wait for opening night!!!! THey are rehearsing at the old Arena of the Vancouver Canucks on the East Side of town. PNE

Allison Wisdom I totally agree. Very reminiscent of 80-82 era Bono. He sang with better muscle support back then. I just wish this recording caught less of the blowing on the mic in the first couple minute.
Amazing voice, and cover. It goes beyond U2 exploring the song with a new voice, I love it.. It makes me fly over and around the mountains of North Spain on my motorbike.. Reminding me of my youth years, the beach, my parents, my friends, good moments of love with a lovely girlfriend in mind and in my heart.. The part "wide awake" brings me back to the white beach "San antolin" staring at the sea.. at this time wondering all the good things, travel, and experiences that life could bring.. HOPE in one word.. And all that with only one song! 😅
You nailed ‘wide awake’ in the last chorus! Covering U2’s Bad is no easy task especially if you’re lead vocals, you need to have passion for this song and you guys did an awesome job!
Good lord! I have followed U2 for over 30 years and like so many U2 fans, BAD is simply one of the all time live favourites. I have heard it live so many times by U2 through the years that I just know when the first chords come on that I know its that song. I´m a huge U2 fan and Bad is my favorite song. I think this guy looks a bit like Bono and he knows that :P He even tries to move and make gestures like Bono from the 80´s. The hair, way of moving hands and legs, the boots, that´s Bono from Slane Castle in the early 80´s while recording The Unforgettable Fire ;) Anyways, very good performance, very nice voice and great effort in the feelings. I'm 25 and been a massive U2 fan since i was 9 and U2 Bad has always been my favorite song by far. This guy and his band absolutely nails U2's sound and Mr. Black here nails Bono. I have seen alot of covers over the years but this one tops them all. So many people out there butcher U2 songs and so many people claim they are generic and overrated, and yet still manage to destroy their songs in what they claim as a better versions.
