- AU Explanation:
So the Mimic was copying Gregory’s voice the entire time to lure her into the elevator, making her believe that was the real Gregory when it wasn’t. It made the elevator fall, but Cassie survived and Roxy found her. While all of that was happening, the real Gregory was living with Vanessa the whole time, and he never needed any help from Cassie and has never talked to her for a while.

Some Facts About My AU/Alternate Universe:
◾️ William and Clara/Mrs. Afton were never abusive or neglectful to the Afton kids.
◾️ Vanessa IS Vanny.
◾️ Even though William was focused on remnant in the past, he still cared for his family.
◾️ William and Glitchtrap are different people, but William can possess and control Glitchtrap if he wants to.
◾️ William doesn’t control Vanessa/Vanny anymore in the present.
◾️ After Vanessa was free from Glitchtrap’s control, she adopted Gregory.
◾️ Rayna is a bunny animatronic that dispenses coffee that Michael made for William. She is not a canon character.
◾️ Gregory has a little brother named Cooper.
◾️ Clara, Michael, and Chris/CC don’t possess any animatronics

Well, I'm getting the feeling that Gregory is not going to be expecting the reaction Cassie is going to give him when they finally reunite. Poor kid, Cassie is probably going to smack him so hard for his 'betrayal.' Though it might be your AU, but I honestly felt that the Mimic was still somehow toying with her.
I don't think Gregory is that heartless to do that to a friend.
There is a theory about that…
There is a speaker change sound before gregory does the whole thing of ‘im sorry’ so most people think that the mimic cut gregory off, made the elevator fall, and made it seem like Cassie was betrayed
So I think there was a static sound..
probably the mimic cut gregory off as you all know and the mimic starts talking and breaks the elevator because the mimic was next to it and banging and then he just makes it fail somehow.
seriously that theory were gregory makes the elevator fall is stupid.
What most likely happened was that the mimic took over and impersonated gregory again before dropping the elevator.
There is a speaker change sound before gregory says ‘I’m sorry about this’ so that might be correct

Fun fact I’d say all the animatronics are shut down but Freddy Roxy was smashed by mimic Monty was shocked and I’d say burnt out from so much power and chica either needs charge because they activated after falling in battery acid or just permanently shut down or this is I’d say 20 percent chance chica is still active
