- Legendary DJ Bob Harris was a great friend of Marc Bolan from their first meeting at John Peel’s home in 1967. Bob often featured T.Rex on his Sounds of the 70s Radio 1 programme and was compere on the T.Rex UK “Electric Warriors” tour. At Liverpool Stadium, 11 November 1971, the vibrations on the stage (which was usually used as a boxing ring) reportedly caused Marc’s speaker stack to fall onto Bob’s DJ equipment, destroying it.
Bob was in the wings for the 18 March 1972 Wembley Empire Pool concerts and recalls fondly those heady days as T.Rextasy swept the nation.
Marc and T.Rex should have been included in the rock n roll hall of fame long ago
Thanks Bob! Great to hear your memories.
Thank you Bob ❤
Best music on the b sides magic
Hi Bob from one icon to another hope you are keeping well and safe
I'm pleased T rex have been recognised by the rock and roll hall of fame. The material they released on the Fly label alone was exceptional, I hope T rex fans everywhere will have a drink and celebrate.
Massive part of growing up as a Seventies Teen
Thank you. 😀
He meant 1971, not '61.
Well he is a dinosaur 🦖 himself now!👍💕
Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2 Country. He plays a lot of crap nowadays. *Songs which aren't even Country. Gone are the days of Wally Whyton & Dave Allan (for a short while)....... What's the point of playing all this so called new Country rubbish. I for one (And there are many more like me...... Want proper country music and if not we'll just stop listening) BBC do yourself a favour and get your act together. *Oh I almost forgot, you can't can you!!! ***A real Country Music fan. 🤠
