      This has nothing to do with interbreeding with Europe or the peoples of the Mediterranean. The ethnic Algerians of North Africa are predominantly white Numidian Berbers, but their southern cousins such as the Tuaregs and parts of the Sahara are black. But Algeria, which is a crossroads of civilization between Europe, the Mediterranean and the Arab world, remains above all attached to its belonging to the African continent.

    to understand this phenomenon we need to go back in history where there were only 3 continents: europe, asia and africa, with the Mideterranean sea as the centre of the world.
    the 3 races spread in those 3 continents : whites in europe, yellows in asia and blacks in africa.
    but around the center, the three of them mixed giving a neutral race with a lot of shades giving Mideterranean people.
    so it is only natural to go whiter if you head north, more yellow to the east and more black to the south.
    i hope i have answered your question.

    I think it's a good thing thats most in Algeria are different in skin color, because that teaches us that our skin color shouldn't matter that much because we are living together, that's why we welcome you to Algeria, it's your country, not mine alone, because you're no different than me.

    The beautiful girl has made a big mistake that will not please Algerians.
    First of all, the couple at the beginning spoke well, they quoted the Tuaregs, but they forgot to speak about the black Algerians who are not Tuaregs but Arabs. In the south of Algeria, there are a lot of blacks.
    NB: Algerians are not used to talking about skin color. It's not a topic of discussion in this country. Although the topic itself is interesting. If you spoke Algerian Arabic, no Algerian would guess your Ghanaian origin, they would believe that you are Algerian from the south of the country.
    The beautiful girl made a big mistake saying that the whiteness is due to the French. It's wrong ! Because, during colonization, there was practically no contact between Algerian women and French colonists. The women stayed at home and hardly went out from a young age. And in the big cities they were supervised by parents and brothers.
    The proof is that the consequences were visible even after independence (1962). In the 60s and early 70s, many girls did not go to school, especially outside the big cities to prevent contact between girls and boys .
    So the whiteness has another origin that I will discuss in a second comment.

    • @wi5801
      @wi5801 Год назад +4

      Of course it is not because of the French because they were white long before that. Even when the French colonised the country they realised that there are different ethnicities so they basically classified them into semites and whites...
      Not many marriages happened between the two but still there were many French who converted married and fought along side Algerians... she probably wanted to refer to the uncountable rapes that happened throughout the century and half of their stay

    • @rayk7307
      @rayk7307 Год назад +4

      Great comment. It is true many Algerians need to improve their knowledge of history.
      The biggest reason why there are white people in Algeria is because of the sun intensity. The coast of Algeria where the vast majority live is more northern than parts of Europe (like southern iberia), meaning higher amounts of melanin isn't developed over the millennia.

      Bazambi, the whiteness of many Algerians comes from Algerians who are Amazigh. If you look at the Book of Gates written by the ancient Egyptians, you will see how they drew the ancient Amazigh as white people. Ancient Amazigh kings like Massinissa, Juba, etc. left statues and coins with engraved images of them and they all look Caucasian.
      The question is why would anyone go to another country and bring their race issues to others pretending it was just a curiosity to ask about something they have little knowledge about? Racial discourse is almost non-existent in Algeria.

    Their answers are very silly to the point of pain. Black Africans came from the south and the so-called African continent was never the land of just dark-skinned people. The name Africa itself comes from an Amazigh tribe called Ait Ifran. The Mediterranean side has never been the country of blacks.
    Many Algerians have Amazigh heritage, and the ancient Amazigh were light-skinned people, and even the ancient Egyptians painted them as white people in the Book of Gates. The Numidian kings (Amazigh) of ancient Numidia, or the first Algerian state which dates back more than 20 centuries, left their statues and money in the form of coins with their images engraved on them and they all look Caucasians like King Massinissa, Juba ...etc.
    Man, if you want to ask people about something like this, at least try to find those who have knowledge on the subject matter, and not those who speak some English.

      @@BigDesTv The last girl is too young or has brain damage to answer like that. Most Algerians will insult her for speaking like that. French settlers lived in their own neighborhoods with their own families. They banned Algerians from living in their neighborhood unless it was for work. The French in general, including the people of France, outnumbered us and outgunned us, but we beat their butts and destroyed their empire. They were forced to abandon many of their colonies in Africa during the last brutal war they had with us from 1954 to 1962.
      You should ask these kinds of questions to people educated in the field and not to those who have just studied English. I think you speak French, so it shouldn't be difficult for you to find the right people since Algerians study French because it's an international language like English.
      Learning English does not make a person knowledgeable in history, religion, math, etc.

    Algeria fought against European colonialism for centuries and helped Africans to achieve their independence and get rid of apartheid. I don’t know what you mean by this question or how you think, but there are those in sub-Saharan Africa and at the present time who say that Africa is black and the whites who live in the north must leave 😁😁😁😁 It is ridiculous for people to think the same way as those who occupied them and sold them in the slave market in the past.

    The whiteness of some Algerians: We meet all the colors in this country. To get an idea of the reasons, you have to think of another African country: Madagascar! In this country, many inhabitants are of Asian origin, especially Indonesians! Even the Malagasy language comes from an Asian family. This is due to immigration from Indonesia to this African country. When you look at the President of Madagascar, you will easily guess that he is Asian.
    Why Madagascar? It's a geographic question. It is located in front of Asia, only the ocean which separates them. If Antarctica were inhabited, part of South Africa would be white!
    So, the whiteness of North Africa is due to its geographical position. In other words, Algeria cannot be other than white!
    The whiteness came from the north side, but especially from the east. There is a gateway on the side of Egypt, which allowed the movement of populations. The European presence is due above all to the presence of the Byzantine and Romans. But this is also due to the phenomenon of captives on both sides of the Mediterranean during the conflicts for the domination of the Mediterranean between North Africans and Europeans. There were 1 million Europeans who were brought to Algeria by the Algerian Pirates between 1500 and 1800.
    In my opinion, white people have lived in Algeria for at least 6000 years, ie before the construction of the Pyramids of Egypt. My arguments are linguistic, the Algerian dialects contain residues of Sumerian which is the oldest written language in the world.

      Bazambi,
      The whiteness of many Algerians is due to ancient indigenous Amazigh ancestors. The natives of Algeria were not black and the first settlers of Madagascar were from Borneo and not from Africa. Bantu waves came later.
      Like the Arabs when you say a single word in Arabic, everything about you become Arab, including your race, culture, land...etc. Black Africans believe everything in African continent is black, which is not true. If you attach South America to America, you will have the same land. The oceans and the desert have created great divisions between people.

      Indeed there was a lot of mixin long ago even before JC, humanas always had to travel, to migrate due to wars and confilcts, they had to do commercial exchanges... The great empires envaded the neghbors and sometimes the faraway lands. It''s true, we ca find different phenotypes in north africa, not only the like white european phenotype, ok it's due to the mixing of autoctones with (asiatic people, roman people, iberians, subsaharians, east europeans..), but the ratios still insegnificant comparing to environemental factor: as said in this video for example the whitness is mostly because of the "adaptation phenomenon" and the evolution of human genomes: people that lives in the north mountains beside the mediteranian sea do have lighter skeen and different trails comparing to someone who lives in the desert sahara, for information even the touareg are the result of human mixing and do not have the same trails with people who lives in egypt desert or soudan, but they still have darker skin. It's a normal phenomenon and it's how we explain the physical differences between people in the world, even if humanity have been born from two people. So with all this north africans are still africans 🤷 it's not like we deported and new population and replaced the old one.

    The young girl, which Big Des fancies and finds beautiful, @8'.30", wasn't exactly the right person to ask his question about the reasons why many Algerians have white skin.
    Algerians are Mediterranean people, which by definition means "In between 2 worlds", and in this case; between the white North, and the Southern dark, or black. In Europe, the skin gets lighter as one goes North, and in the Mediterranean, or North Africa, the skin gets darker the further south one goes.
    History and genetics have a lot to do with it too, Algeria and North Africa in general were par of the Roman Empire which stretched up to the Scottish border and the Black forest of Germany, intermarriages with a lot of different ethnic groups were taking place since then at least. This was also the case with the arrival of Islam and notably the time of El Andalus, or Islamic Iberia (Spain and Portugal) contrary to what Chirine (I think) was saying, very few intermarriages took place in Algeria during the French colonial period in comparison.
    Between the fall of the Roman Empire (4th-5th century) and the arrival of Islam in the 8th century, a Germanic tribe called the Vandals, came from Iberia and settled down in today's Algeria for +/- 1.5 century, and then mixed marriages were very common. These marriages were very common also during the Ottoman period with not just with Turks, but also people from Eastern Europe ( Balkans, Carpathian Mountains and the Caucasus, Southern Russia and Central Asia), hence blond hair, red hair and even slanted eyes. Although Algeria was part of the Ottoman Empire, it was an independent Sea Republic for 3 and a half centuries during which many Europeans (Men women and children) were taken as bounty of razzias from all European coasts, sometimes as far as Ireland, Iceland, Scotland, Norway and Danemark.
    North Africans are genetically between 75-90% Berber, and contrary to popular beliefs, the Arab component is smaller than the Africa (Bantu) element, despite the dominance of the Arab culture, which is due more to Islam than to genetics.

    The simple answer is twofold: the area was sparely populated in ancient times from what I understand, there is less intense UV light in that area which means North Africans aren't forced to be as dark as most Africans. Also, North Africans absorbed white foreigners which contributes to light skin North Africans. Not necessarily Europeans but various white Asians.

    • @nessie4026
      @nessie4026 Год назад

      That is not really correct. Algerians have several backgrounds (depending on the person, obviously). A lot of them have direct roots to the Middle East or Turkey as well as Europe. To sum it all up, Algeria was NEVER black, it used to be called "Numidia" in Ancient times, the borders were significantly smaller than they are today, it was basically the very upper part of the country. The idea that Africa only has black people is extremely stupid and shallow. North Africa has always been the way it is today and it is not due to the climate but to the roots in general.

    Official Des TV,
    J'ai vu certaines de vos vidéos et vous semblez, consciemment ou inconsciemment, ne pas avoir beaucoup de respect pour la culture algérienne.Soit vous ne vous êtes pas préparé en venant en Algérie, soit vous vous en moquez. Les youtubeurs comme les médias sont connus pour leurs questions choquantes ou leurs appâts à cliquer.
    De nombreux Algériens sont heureux de parler anglais en raison du faible nombre d'anglophones et ne se rendent parfois pas compte qu'ils ont été induits en erreur.
    Beaucoup de vos questions peuvent être considérées comme du harcèlement dans la culture algérienne car elles sont si privées et envahissantes. Vous n'avez pas eu d'ennuis parce que peu de gens comprennent ce que vous dites. Vous devez vous calmer avant que quelqu'un ne vous signale.
    Autre chose, pourquoi certaines personnes noires posent-elles toujours des questions sur les relations multiraciales ? Ne pensez-vous pas que c'est une sorte de faible estime de soi causée par le colonialisme ? Ne pensez-vous pas que c'est une insulte aux femmes noires ?
    -----
    I saw some of your videos and you seem, consciously or unconsciously, that you don't have much respect for Algerian culture. Either you didn't prepare when you came to Algeria, or you just don't care. RUclipsrs like the media are notorious with their shocking questions or click baits.
    Many Algerians are happy to speak English due to the low number of English speakers and sometimes do not realize that they have been misled.
    Many of your questions can be considered harassment in Algerian culture because they are so private and invasive. You didn't get in trouble because not many understand what you're saying. You have to calm down before someone reports you.
    Another thing, why do some black people always ask about multiracial relationships? Don't you think it's some kind of low self-esteem caused by colonialism? Don't you think that's an insult to black women?

Finally, i can't for the life of me understand people being surprised at the diverisity in the region, i mean, why is the Asian continent shared by the Japanese, the Pakistanis, the Saudis, the Armenians the Maylasians and the georgians who all look super diverse and completly different from one another, but Africa can't be diverse ? Also it's normal for people living in the extreme North mountaneous regions that are like one hour away from spain to be white skinned 😂
