- How to reset maintenance service reminder message in Volvos V60, S60, XC60, V70, XC70 and S80 after changing oil & filters and inspecting your car. You don't need to use diagnostic tools or visit garage or car dealer to reset the SRI (service reminder indicator). Follow this DIY tutorial to clear the maintenance message in your Volvo in seconds and for free.

This didn't work for me but I found out why. The trip has to be on T2 (not T1) and you have to release before the i flashes three times.

Bingo, I have a 2010 and you hold the t2 and start button and you’re right. Have to release before flashing of the i ends.

I used another video in the past that didn't seem as straightforward as this one, but the other video was very hit and miss with clearing the reminder. Dude! I love you! Been bugging me for ages after the oil change and never actually found a video with instructions that work. The volvo forums all say you have to use the obd reader to do this. Thanks a million
swapping out the battery in my friends S60 made the check engine light go off, after a mechanic told me he'd need the car for two days to fix the problem ! anyway i hope this method shown here gets the maintainance light to shut off , thank you mr fix ! and have a great summer all of you shade tree mechanics !

Thank you very much. It's so simple, press start without pressing brake, simultaneously, hold T1/T2 and engine start buttons until "i" flashes and tone is heard.

After many attempts from other recommendations, this worked for me the first time. Clear explanation, thank you SO much!
Thanks. Works for me. I tried couple of times. Finally what I did was: 1. Engine off, door locked, seatbelt on. Set to T2. Key in the slot. Foot away from pedal all the time. 2. Press Start button once, release quickly. Set engine to position I. 3. Press and hold T1/T2, meanwhile press and hold Start button for 2sec. Until all the dash lights on and yellow warning light start to blinking. Release the T1/T2 dial. I tried twice. First time, warning light was blinking. Second time, warning light turned on and disappeared. And the maintenance message disappeared.

The let go of button straight after the second Amber information light flash is crucial!..
Also make sure your tripometer is set on T2 obviously using the same Trip button, at the beginning

Just to clarify? Release the trip button when you see the 'i' flashing. Not the ign or both. It's the trip button that must be released to reset. ( RHD 2012 Volvo V70 wagon.)

Hello I wanted information !!! I am Italian and I cannot understand the video very well. I have a 2012 volvo ocean race 1.6 115 hp and it has the exact same picture as the video. I wanted to know if this car has the engine temperature to set? On the display it only indicates the external temperature but since it is imported and everything is written in German I don't know if there is a way to set it, that's why I'm asking you by watching this video .. This tutorial shows how to reset maintenance reminder. It shows up every year or with certain mileage.
If you have ABS fault you will need to use diagnostic scanner to read fault code and details, fix the issue, then clear the fault with the diagnostic tool again.
Can you do this to reset the counter earlier? For instance I want to do the maintenance 2000km earlier. Can I reset the 10k timer this way? Thanks. K.
