Don Sutton, Brett Somers, Charles Nelson Reilly, Mary Wickes, Richard Dawson, and Fannie Flagg
Love Fannie Flagg. I have 6 books of hers to read. I love the movie, "Fried Green Tomatoes". She has a cameo role in it,as well as Grease as the nurse. Thank you Fannie for your talent and humor. Love and Prayers from Canada 🇨🇦❤🙏🕊
H/H match update:
...
Today's action:
Our champion needed six tractors to achieve a tie, but Don offered a mule instead. She goes home after two victories with $700.
Our new champion gets her first try at the big money.
Today's audience match question: "________ Biscuit" (My thoughts: Sea, Buttermilk, Hot)
The celebs: Richard (Sea), Fannie (Hot), Charles (Buttermilk)
The choice: Dog (She goes it alone!)
The answers: Hot, Dog, Sea
A new champion, a new choice for the head-to-head?
No, it's Richard again. This is now the 19th straight time Richard has been chosen for the H/H question, and he's matched seven of those times so far. Reviewing his recent performance, Richard has matched 16 of his 45 most recent attempts (35.5%).
Today's H/H question: "_______ Jeckle"
(Odd question. There's "Heckle and Jeckle," a cartoon I remember seeing back then. There's also Doctor Jekyll, because we know spelling never counts. I can't think of anything else, so I'll go with Heckle and Jeckle, assuming that Richard wouldn't misspell the name of the book/character.)
It doesn't take long for Richard to decide. The contestant looks a bit unsettled. In fact, when Gene asks for her answer, she doesn't have one yet. She opts for "Hyde and Jekyll," admitting "I know that's bad, it's all I can think of."
Richard proves once again that spelling doesn't count. "Doctor."
No match today.
Here's our updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy:
(Note: An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies that she has "retired" from the show and her H/H stats are now complete.)
(Note: For tied scores, I consider the one with the greater number of matches to be higher; if the matches are equal, the celeb who first achieved that score goes on top.)
Orson Bean - 100% (4 wins in 4 attempts).
Gary Burghoff - 83.3% (5 wins in 6 attempts).
TIE: (*)Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts).
TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts).
Charles - 51.7% (31 wins in 60 attempts).
TIE: Betty - 50.0% (18 wins in 36 attempts).
TIE: Fannie - 50.0% (13 wins in 26 attempts).
Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts).
Richard - 40.9% (214 wins in 523 attempts). --40.9177%
Brett - 40.9% (27 wins in 66 attempts). --40.9090%
Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts).
*These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 848, excluding the lost/missing/damaged episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325, and 645. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!")
11:02 lights been off for 15 years. Classic.
Weird Willie's job in the fertilizer factory is to SHOVEL it!
The music people are working overtime in this episode
When Gene said "I wonder what the #1 response is " and Charles shouted "buttermilk" I laughed so hard. They just don't make comedy like this anymore
And patty has a great face and neck. 17 kids ..".I'm catholic" . I love it
🤣Mary Wickes translation of The John, in spanish El Juan!😂And Dickie Dawson with El Johno!!🤣🤣
This is the first episode with exaggerated margins on the blue cards (the cards all have a smaller rectangle on them). Interesting the change happened mid-week, not at the beginning of the week. This batch of cards lasts through episode 855; with 856 they revert to the normal cards.
Pig, Hog, Boar or Razorback is the definitive answer to the Farmer John question.
19:27 Richard is so astonished by the contestant's failure that he doesn't even bother to make a gag of it.
And that she balked at his "Seabiscuit."
And I suppose YOU Doctor Jeckle
I knew it was't right, but all I could think was Hyde and Jeckle too
The problem I had with this was the spelling...I know spelling is usually taken loosely here, but with "____ Jeckle" my answer was "Heckle and" (cartoon magpies that I believe would have existed in this time frame)...
I do believe she was thrown off by the spelling. It's a lay up if they spelled it right. This bugs me.
5:35. Brett: Can I smoker's hack on you?
Did you know that Superman just turned 102 years old? Now he;s too old to fly out the window so all he can do is tinkle out the window
fall is the right answer but WAVE is hilarious
That was actually really funny ,,lol
Tinkle was my answer
Look out the window. Was mine.
Don was a good player.
I was impressed he was the only one that caught on to the spare ribs punchline (unless Richard intentionally threw it to help the challenger.) Very quick wit- it's no wonder he was brought back three more times.
He did Great in Milwaukee too. My mom Loved him. lol
Must because he seems very cocky
I believe he's a Hall of Famer. Doesn't get much better than that.
R.I.P. Don Sutton
Wonder if he's reunited with Gene Rayburn and Charles Nelson Reilly
Dr. Jeckle and heckle and jeckle are the only ones I thought of
i cannot believe that FAnny is from the South amd didnt say buttermilk biscuit
or cathead
So I guess episode 849 is missing?
Tony Assino
.
Episode 849 was never produced! It was an extra MGPM episode recorded! Episode 57
Lindaa was the model from the Dutch Boy paint cans. 🙂
Spare ribs was what I thought
Well, that's pork.
Oh thanks now I'm hungry!
Patty is a very pretty lady, a real girl next door quality
Heckle and Jeckle the cartoon
Both Patty and Richard Dawson were wrong. Still, Patty is my idea of sexy.
If you close your eyes when Don is speaking, you can almost imagine it’s McLean Stevenson … very similar voices and intonations.
Is it just me or does Don the panelist look like Andy Samberg (or vice versa)?
I thought Don looked a little bit like John McEnroe.
One time they had Pfizer as a promoting company and now Squibb. Wonder what these pharmaceutical companies were supplying and promoting.
Looks like there is no #849....

@@MatchGameProductions for as many people asking about the missing episode you should just produce a little video about it
Explaining the situation,,, lol, it would just save you from making the same comment over n over n over , lol
@@MatchGameProductions or just pin your response,,,
Kevin Sizemore I’ve thought about it. It’s a good point Kevin!
What the heck happened to Patty's hair I'm surprised they let her go on TV with her hair looking all crazy like that woops!
She kind of put it in a bun but very messily. I guess that's how she liked it
This look was actually very common in the 70’s. A very loose bun.
ROFL! Marc strikes again three times and love Gene's face and his tap dancing.. I don't think that is a waltz Marc.. ;0) ROFL! and groan there Charles! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Fanny! ROFL! Charles has socks on Brett! ROFL! I like Mary!
Charles is wearing socks today! 12:22
That Patty is/was a babe.
And she agrees with you
She thinks so too
Oh yeah. Especially when she had her hair down. When she did All aboard with the acting, I almost fell over.
I had the same issue as the contestant with the spelling. It seems she knew the correct spelling was Jekyll. I still would have said Doctor. But I get why she got a bit confused. It sucks. Very attractive woman especially with her hair down.
Where's episode 849
where is Episode 847 ?
reg buc It's already up on the channel.
thanks
Right b4 this
Don Sutton sucks the air out of the room.
What does that mean? Is it a good or bad thing haha
Why the fuck was Brett always coughing so much? I would've hated to have been on that panel with Brett constantly hacking every day!
Cigarettes she finally quit and it went away
@@garfield2439 The one good thing she ever did on the show lol
if Iwas Richard i would have an umbrella
@@mikehunt4986 I've seen her smoke on the show. One time she smoked a long skinny brown cigarette. My mom used to smoke something like that. They were called More cigarettes.
@@pencils812 But did she cough as much as Brett did? lol
Brett talks a lot and?
Brett coughing on the entire top row? ewwwww.
They’re used to it.
Mary Wickes does not belong in the "Dummy Seat".....Fannie Does....along with Joyce
Betty White also sits in the sixth seat. Mary Wickes has had her turns in that seat too (in fact her first time the sixth seat was her second week, eps 776-780)
In fact, Mary Wickes was in the "dummy seat" the week they introduced the Star Wheel in 1978.
@@antster1983 I never even thought they WANTED an idiot lol...Joyce is the Queen of that seat. Fannie was great at the beginning of the season but she got lazy round ep 800 lol ;)
Oh, fiddle faddle. All three of them were great. Mary first, then Joyce, and don't forget Elaine. Of course, Betty was the queen.
@@CousinOresama i agree
C'mon you think u r so smart
Don is rude and unfunny. I'm glad he wasn't on many episodes.
He was on a couples more episodes & he was funny & a good game player
Has anyone seen the episode that Betty is talking about at the end of the video at 2:50?
