Thanks so much! This whole series has been extremely useful, I love the idea of Adnan's Tomb as a starting session and will definitely be using it in the first session of my homebrew campaign. As a new DM this has been the best one of the best resources I've found on creating a world from scratch thanks so much for all of it!
Same! it's a great way to see the ability of your party (to learn what's needed in future combats), and to do something that unites the party initially that doesn't have to directly relate to the larger campaign
This helps so much!!! I've started DMing the last few months, but I've only used ready adventures and modules. This helped greatly, my Greek inspired homebrew campaign is almost ready to play
Only been playing for a few months but our DM (my brother) had mentioned wanting to play occasionally (as he always has to run our games). I thought it might be a change of pace to put together a short adventure, give my brother a chance to play a bit and try my hand at DMing. Maybe roll up 5 characters and have them a pick out of a hat and play with whatever they get just for this run. Maybe get people outside of their comfort zone class wise. Thanks for providing this material to get me on a good foot moving forward. Already coming up with some ideas.
thanks so much, this has been so helpful. I am definitly going to use some of this in my first campaign. I did have a question though. What do you do if the boulder in the long corridor catches up with the players? Do you just let it crush them? or let it roll over them and what do you do then when the entrance is now block? I am very new the dming so i dont quite get everything yet
There's no "right" answer here, and it will largely depend on the kind of game you're running. If you want something gritty and "real" it might crush them! But if you don't want to be so hardcore you could call for another save. If they pass they slip into a crack and the boulder goes passed them, blocking the entrance. If they fail maybe they don't quite fit in the crack and the boulder still hits them dealing a lot of damage but not crushing them. As for how they deal with the boulder blocking the door, that's on them. Players will usually come up with more inventive solutions than we could anyway :p
