    Like a thorough review of this device. I have already oredered mine and waiting for it to arrive. Will pick up a 1500 nits phone for it, if it works more or less reliable. The glitches scared me though. I have a nice external monitor but it just adds too much bulk and weight overall, this thing should be as portable as it gets. You can also combine it with Monitor + app on andoird to get some controls over Sony camera and a HDMI feed simualtenesly which I am going to test soon.

      Hello and thank you for the comment! Please let me know how things go with your testing, I just picked up the Xperia 1 iv but dont have a modern sony camera to test the connectivity and compatibility for what you are talking about. The M1 is really one of the most minimalist ways to monitor a camera and I have appreciated the battery component as well. The glitches are not that frequent for me, but occasionally something will be a bit off with no clear reason why. Hopefully with some updates itll be a more stable experience. At the moment i haven’t used it on a job, but not for fear of an issue. Let me know how it goes! Thanks!

    I tried this device and sent it back. I do the same thing for only 20 euros. I basically have an HDMI capture card also UsbC and I use the same application to monitor the signal from any camera. I mention that some smartphones cannot be powered by Accsson M1, an example my Motorola EDGE 20 pro phone. That's why I sent back the Accsson M1, plus the app does poor and bad streaming.

    • @TheWholePicture

      Hello and thank you for the comment! I understand there are ways to DIY this, but I did find this to be an elegant solution in a minimalist package for compatible cameras and phones. I haven't tested the live streaming capabilities much and no solution is perfect and it would be interesting to see if a second iteration improves on some of this!

    I picked up the Accsoon M1 after watching your video. It finally arrived and here's what I found out to my dismay:
    1. The phone must have a USB-C port I suspected. Because I tried it on 3 phones with micro USB and the M1 won't power up. I think this is due to the M1 need the much higher power USB-C can deliver. This is not made clear by Accsoon. So I have to buy a new phone??
    2. The M1 is not powered by the Sony battery. It will be great if it can because then I can use phone with micro USB port. But maybe this also have to do with transferring video using USB-C instead of micro.
    3. The Accsoon See app does not work with the 3 older Android phones I have. The Play store refuse download to them. Accsoon do not specify minimum Android OS version. This mean folks who want to re-use their older phones are no-go.
    I am not able to get my M1 going due to above issues. This tell me I must buy a late model Android phone with USB-C port. And even if I do I might still face issues worrying if M1 will work with my 2 Nikon Z models.

    • @TheWholePicture
      @TheWholePicture  Год назад

      Thank you for the comment and I'm sorry you're experiencing those issues. Unfortunately I did not have a legacy android device with micro usb to test with the m1 and did not think to mention anything on the subject for this video. That being said micro usb may not have enough bandwidth or connections to transmit video so even with an adapter it may not be possible. As you said, more clear messaging on this would have been helpful as breathing new life into older devices is always a plus! If you have a chance you should reach out to accsoon to confirm compatibility and again im sorry for the issue and the oversight on not providing more information on the video!

      @@TheWholePicture I got the M1 to work by buying a phone. So the requirements are: phone with Android 9 or above in order to run the app, must have a USB-C with OTG capability. A powerful CPU/GPU necessary to reduce latency. Camera HDMI must output automatically when connected. With these it works just great.

    • @TheWholePicture
      @TheWholePicture  Год назад

      Thank you so much for the comment! One of my intentions with this was to use it with the Eos M and original BMPCC to see how compact a setup could get. I havent had a chance to test it on the Eos M but I can say on the BMPCC (actually including the 4k) it is a great way to keep things compact and streamline a kit. In many ways it is a compromise but one worth making for say travel or smaller projects! More on this soon!

    Can it connect with Camerafi Live App as external camera source? Is it works with Samsung A series like Samsung A33 or Samsung A53 ?

    • @TheWholePicture
      @TheWholePicture  2 года назад

      Hello and thank you for the question. I am not sure about the Camerafi Live App, but I believe the connection is treated like a webcam of sorts. But the Accsoon app may be doing some necessary work to get the signal transmitted, so it might not be compatible with other apps. The App needs android 8+ and 4+ gigs of ram. Accsoon recommends flagship models from 2019 and newer with a list of tested phones on the M1s product page. The A33 and A53 are not listed but with their specs I assume it should be ok. If you have any further questions please feel free to ask!

    nice video. i want to ask, if you use Old canon camera that usually not delivering audio through HDMI, Can this accsoon M1 get audio from the camera?
    i using Canon m50 gen 1, and if i connect to video capture, only get visual on the screen, but never get the audio on it from the camera.
    so i wonder if this Accsoon M1 with the apps, can get audio too.
    i looking review everywhere, but apperantly they using another brand other canon that has Clean HDMI.
    so i don't know is this accessory is the right for my Canon m50.

      Hello and thank you very much for the comment! This is unfortunately something I definitely overlooked in my review… at the moment I do not have a mini hdmi to full hdmi to test the eos m but I can see circumstances where audio is not transmitted… When I get a chance to test this i will try to let you know! In the mean time you might want to try plugging your camera into a monitor or tv with speakers and seeing if it outputs audio while recording or during playback. If not I would assume on this accessory it would be a similar result…

    can it act as charger for the sony np battery itself? also is there a way to unscrew the plastic phone mount so I can diy a stronger phone mount to it?

    • @TheWholePicture
      @TheWholePicture  Год назад

      Hello and thank you for the comment! I looked into it even tried it myself and it does not seem like you can charge the npf batteries with the M1 itself. That would be a fantastic feature! Also looking at the M1, it does not seem possible to modify the phone mount at least not easily. If you use apple devices too, the SeeMo (ios version of the M1) I believe there are some options for iPads and larger devices!

    Hello good day. I have a problem and I can't figure out why. When I connect the device to the phone, everything works correctly, but when the camera screen is turned off, the hdmi signal stops emitting, that is, it is cut off. How can I do so that even if the camera screen is turned off, it continues to emit a signal? My camera is a Nikon Z7. Thanks in advance.

    • @TheWholePicture
      @TheWholePicture  Год назад +1

      Hello and thank you for the comment. I don't have any experience with Nikons Z series of cameras so its hard to say. By your description it may have more to do with the camera and the way it transmits over HDMI. Maybe when the screen is off, for example when it is switched to viewfinder display only, the HDMI signal may cut out? If you can test it on a tv or monitor and see if you can replicate the problem . If it is unique to the M1 then I would contact Accsoon as they could give you more accurate help!

    Even if the m1 only records in 1080p, does it allows to just monitor a 4k fed from my Panasonic G85 ? That would record it self on its SD card.

    • @TheWholePicture
      @TheWholePicture  Год назад

      Hello and thank you for the comment! I have monitored the feed from my GH5 on the Accsoon M1 while recording to SD cards so you should be ok! Recording on the Accsoon itself will capture what is on the cameras screen (including settings and menus) so it is not always ideal for every scenario, but for say camera reviews or tutorials it can be a great solution to show a specific feature or technique! I hope that helps!
