  • This video was recorded on Friday October 18th, 2019 during Boone County's monthly test. This siren is located right next to I-65 so I tried to get as far from the highway as possible. It seemed to work out as you can hear the T-121 at Perry Worth Elementary very clearly after this siren winds down.
Sirens in Boone County are tested Monthly on the third Friday at noon. Boone County has a very mixed system of Sentry, Federal Signal, American Signal, and Whelen sirens. The county tends to install American Signal sirens but the local jurisdictions are able to install whatever they want. Ultimately, the county sets off the sirens for warnings but the local jurisdictions take care of maintenance and installation. The county can install sirens where they see fit and turn over maintenance to the local jurisdictions.
