Madam I am watching your all viedeos from 2 days before. Excellent performance. You are great. Your teaching method is very good. Not only i am watching. I learn and practice with your video. God bless you
My favourite swarajathi. Change of string makes it more melodious and emphasizing. This will be a boon to relearn this with the way it is played. Thank you
Thanks a lot mam... It would help if you can make videos on 2 Lakshana Geetha Jaganmohini and Bilahari, 4 Jathi Svaras - Kalyaani, Hamsadhvani, Kannada and Dhaevamanohari and 3 Varnam - Shankarabaranam, Vasantha and Kalyaani...
Thanks for your list. I do tutorials which are concept based. It is very tough given the limited time I have, to do many tutorials. Every video of mine has an important tip for Carnatic music students and that is something that you must pick up in your musical journey. Best wishes
Sure mam.. ur tips are different in different videos and it is helping me a lot.. will try with whatever lessons has been taught so far... There is so much to learn from you and you make difficult things seem easy... Hope I don't fail in doing justice to the listed songs.. i will surely give my best and try..
Mam, there are few things to observe from this video, one is the double string effect, the other is your Thalam striking at a very consistent and rhythmic pace. Can you explain that technique once mam, so we are able to learn that from you🙏🏻 both these combined with a comfortable Thalam speed of 100 ..16/2 ( chaapu) beat is a pleasure to the ears
Divya ,there is a separate video on double string technique, which you must watch. Before playing your lesson mark out the talam positions and practice striking the talam along with the lesson.
Divya, Swarajathis have 32 notes per tala cycle hence you will have to play 4 notes per beat , if you keep the regular 8 beat cycle. When there are more pauses in a lesson holding 4 notes per beat becomes tough and affects the flow of talam and playing, which is why the 'double branched tala pattern started. Hence 8 was kept as 16 and 2 notes were played per beats which helps keep talam in strict control even if you play fast speed.
Mam, understood. If we have to play at higher speed the two notes per beat still holds good, or should have to alter the number of notes per beat as well?
Joyous ! Unmistakable technique ! Krishna the medicine for stress ! Veena the medicine for distress ! Mala ji the medicine for dull and gloom !
Thanks

What is the name of the app for the taalam / metronome
Pro metronome
Mam! Namaskaram. The temp is 16/2 on metronome, can you explain why is it set like that? And not 8/8

Keep it two notes for all speeds
Mam, the logic being two notes per beat, while practicing at different tempos, am i right?
