I was brought up in Southwark next to the (then ) largest estate in Northern Europe and My Dad's final wage was £20 per week back in the day and nearly all my friends were from South East London Council Estates and yet none of them ever got involved in crime (apart from speeding tickets, like me) but I never knew ANYONE without 2 Parents living at home until I was about 17 years old with The Dad giving emotional, practical and financial support to their kids. What I will never understand about a Family that can not provide for their, say, 2 children is they then have a 3rd/4th/5th/6th child which makes them even poorer.

I've struggled my whole life born and raised in newham and still live in here now. i lost my job last year and my side job, and everything else. i currently have £20 to my name. ive never needed to rob anybody. ive shot before just to get by. Mum and dad slept on the sofa in the living roomand that was it in East London. I knew and grew up with "roadmen" and "gangsters" that actually were much richer than my family, with much nicer houses and cars and TV's - somehow they were always more willing to do the violent crimes. It shows you that theres never a good reason to do violent crime - its always based off an excuse. The poverty one is a piss take when used to excuse hurting others.
