or maybe a mini series about the old generation featuring Roger and Rayleigh setting sail for the first time and garps journey to the top, and all their crazy adventiures before the great pirate era
I mean do you remember how Reyleigh looked on the last trip of the Roger Pirates? Garp looks pretty much the same as when he has his beard. His facial hair just made him look older.
Yeah cause dragon was in the navy(probably had a vision of true justice) until ohara happened, and he left to become the founder of freedom fighters(later become revolutionary army). Ohara incident changed drastically the vision of pure justice to dragon and kuzan...
So u guys read 3 piece? In the manga it clearly stated that dragon was already the leader of the freedom fighters before the ohara incident. After the ohara incident he told vegapunk hes gonna make a army that can figut. And thats how the revolution army started. He was already out of the navy before ohara.
This scene/single episode alone should be the reason why we all should respect garp more often. Say whatever you want ... "oh he's old", "he's not in his prime anymore" & "bla bla bla ... etc", but understand this ... his freedom, morals & training arc is a lot different than other characters in one piece. He's literally the real embodiment of destructive raw strength with outstanding morals and value. Just like Luffy, Dragon & Koby. "Even if his hands and feet are tied, you guys aren't good enough to kill Garp!" - Aokiji/Kuzan (Ex-Admiral) "Don't use your haki or you're not truly training" - Garp "The strength that those heroes have, it's not something you're born with" - Commodore Brannew. I mean ... what else do we need about Garp capabilities? Even ex-admiral, most high-ranking/top officers of marine & pirates knows that this guy is capable of killing & annihilate the most strongest existence in one piece. But, His great-heart & awareness towards his pupil & family are always the only reason why he's always holding back and not obliterates everything in one/several blows.
He does struggle with one thing. Him sometimes mentally beats himself up whenever he sees how free Dragon, Sabo, Ace, Luffy, and Kuzan is outside of the marines. Which is probably why he never moved on past vice admiral so he won't be taking direct orders from the government and celestial dragons.
@@bastienmiquel985the difference between garp leaving vs aokiji leaving the marines is that, if aokiji leaves there are other admirals who are still there. To the public it's a big deal but it's still fine. If garp "The Hero" leaves, the only legendary marine who could go toe to toe with roger himself has turned over to anarchy would reign terror over the civilian and general public, leaving tens of thousands of island to a rise of anarchy, especially those who consider garp to be their hero. Massive waves of civil unrest would kill hundreds of thousands of marines and civilians. And the world government may need to step in to to quell the anarchy using less than suble means.
Damn, this scene really cements the idea that you truly dont need a devil fruit to be strong. Just the will power to keep going despite the pain. Sure shanks showed that but was over the top with it, but seeing garp training really makes the point hit hard.
And yet people still complain saying they shouldn't have to take a week break and quote "just do it stop being lazy" And yes some are actually saying that
@@izanagi6628 Last week they had the Navy filler episode (actually kind of a nice recap aside from the commentary), and I said to my wife, "Oh no, next week's going to be FIRE!" lol every time.
Back on O'Hara when both Aokiji and Akainu were set for a buster call, it was Akainu that gave the order to initiate it. Kizan was on the island and he allowed Saul and Robin to escape being captured. This similar situation happened again with Aokiji and Akainu at Marineford when Aokiji went up against Luffy but instead of killing him, he tried to put him down because he owed Garp a favor. Then afterwards I would assume Aokiji would feel sometime type of way about Akainu because at the end of the war Akainu was trying to be too persistent in killing Luffy which also fueled the other marine soldiers into showing the world the might of the Navy by making sure no one leaves Marineford alive. Then it became icing on the cake when Akainu won that 10 day struggle and Aokiji didn't want no part in Akainu's absolute justice. I believe that Kizaru at the end of the Egghead arc is what Aokiji would've become if he stayed in the navy with Akainu as fleet admiral.
I'm sure that's why Aokiji incorporated his 'lazy' justice as an excuse to ignore orders and not capture criminals he deemed unfairly hunted by the government.
This is the prove that dragon was a former navy admiral at this time..After ohara incident he resign and form a freedom fighter before change it into revolution army..
Aokiji just could no longer stand the necessary evils of the Marines (Celestial Dragons, Human Auction Shop, Covering Up Black Ops) and despite Garp's Vice Admiral Status perks to hunt Pirates freely as he wants he still lets things slide as he didn't want to make an enemy of the Higher-ups. Aokiji believes Blackbeard's Evil will finally force action and bring everything all out in order to finally end the lies and secrets of Absolute Justice ... no more Slovenly Lazy Justice, time for Pent Up Furious Justice.
I feel like the main reason for dragon leaving the navy wasn’t just the Ohara being destroyed but probably when Dragon saw akainu kill the civilians on the boat who were leaving the buster call. Dragon must have told Akainu to look out for the innocents on the boat but Akainu received new orders from the world government and decided to listen to them instead of his comrade. Making dragon realize there is no justice here in the navy, just obedience and being lapdogs to the world government.
This is wrong. Dragon already left the navy way before the O'Hara incident. After Dragon left the Navy amd before the O'Hara incident, Dragon established the freedom fighters. Then a few days after the O'Hara incident that's when Dragon became founder and leader of the Revolutionary Army. So Dragon had no part in the buster call at O'Hara.

Basically what I’m saying is that you can’t be prevented from learning it this hasn’t been stated yet.
In the world government they rely on numbers more than anything with the exceptional standing out. You aren’t even told about the existence of haki till you are in the running for the vice admiral position or you get tapped by upper brass. Similar to Koby with Garp though he wasn’t made aware of it till the war and it wasn’t even by Garp. It’s easier to teach them martial arts and weapon skills than to train every new recruit in haki. Remember it took Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji 1-2 years to master haki despite having incredibly tough wills and Luffy already bringing it out. This is also shown with most large pirate crews because in the end haki is an unnecessary luxury. If you’re a giant or someone like Luffy with unnatural strength even if the opponent could use haki you’d still probably knock them out. The added time to teach weaker members when they still wouldn’t be able to face mid tiers is why it’s not worth it. For example without having an actual breakdown of numbers the most haki users in one fighting force is most likely to be the Kuja pirates. Every fighter aged women there is capable of using including some of the old but they aren’t considered a strong power in the world. In fact they are entirely reliant on their empress and what used to be their warlord status.

Its is interesting to see how different Garp acted with Luffy and Dragon. When Dragon he acted more serious and hurt, while with Luffy he was more childish, almost like silly tantrum
Yknow, after thinking about it, Garp’s rage towards his kin not joining the marines makes sense. The man is The Hero of The Marines. He is what every person looks up to as the perfect marine. No matter what, you can look up to Garp as the saving grace of the world. So when Garp sees his son turn against the Marines, I imagine he feels like it’s his fault. I imagine he is more ashamed of himself not being able to do enough to show the good of the Marines than he is his family. Now even his pupil has left him. One thing I wished they showed was Garp and Aokiji reacting to Ace's death at Marine Ford or just the war in general, probably didn't because Aokiji was extremely busy post war and [most likely] didn't show back up to this place after making Admiral, but it seems Aokiji was a confidant at best for Garp or a Psuedo son with how he'd go telling him about his family stuff, the death of Ace was a big one besides his Son becoming a revolutionary and Luffy wanting to be a pirate. It's possible that, whether you agree with his ideals or not, that he believes the best way for change is to do it from the inside. He knows the 5 Elders are evil, thats why he doesn't wanna be an admiral, because they report directly to them and are their lapdogs. Vice-Admiral is the highest position he can get to have a lot of influence and not directly be the right hand of the devil. Maybe thats why he wanted the whole family to join. Why he's raising Koby, etc. To make a generation of good guy marines. Maybe he thinks Dragons way, while technically righteous, is just war and will cause mass death. Change from the inside would, in theory, be more bloodless even if it takes longer. Again, you don't have to think that's correct. Lots of people have questionable ideals and morals in this series and different views on "justice". Point is that, I'm sure he knows the government is evil, and he's clearly not an evil person.
