I need to preface this by admitting that I am not a chemist. I've read very little about spirit vinegar and do not have a complete understanding of it. But vinegar is essentially acetic acid and should (in theory) eat at metal until it fully dissolves, right? How were you able to blue the steel in the same liquid? Seriously I am intrigued! This would be the ideal method of bluing
steel parts for food-safe machines
