What a beautifully stimulating conversation from the 3 of you wonderful individuals. Mitch, I agree that the tactility of a physical book outweighs the convenience of a digital one. Because our minds have an openly spatial atmosphere, that's ready to accept, receive, and index physical objects in space and time. Thoughts, memories, and emotions therefore, desire something tactile to latch on to. A connected object/memory imprint. A touch. A sound. A taste. A smell. A vision. The digital world may be convenient, but it’s nontactile, amorphous, and easily misplaced and forgotten. A great conversation, indeed.
A recent study shows that only 12% of high school students have read a non-assigned book in the ladt year compared to the 40% that used to be the norm. I wonder how social media and other social constructs will affect future research and enthusiasm....unless Joe Rogan or some other influencer mentions it.
I feel you on the money thing I do - I have arranged the pairing of 5 marriages I have helped over 200 people get jobs directly related to my connecting them they never returned the favor - the five couples I introduced the first thing the women did was cut me out of their social circles they were either worried about there narrative in another group or protecting there turf… I finally stopped it was stealing my energy now I bring in my own circumstances through magic… its much easier. It brings you the right people and energy for a healthier exchange …
