This is like another Mummers parade, Kool video. The TV coverage wasn't as good as when PHL17 carried it. They used to have the fancy division at night, which was nice, but I don't think it was even televised this year. I may have missed it, but I couldn't find any info on the internet about it. I did find something, which I believe said it was being held at !0:00 AM, the same time as the parade. I wouldn't think they would do that though.
My Dad wrote the org. "Flyers Fight Song". Back in 73-74. It's on RUclips .. sung by Steve Lawlor & the Red Garter Band (from Wildwood. I think that's Flip Flops now.)
Now THIS brings back memories for this little Expat.... I remember when South Philly was all Jewish and Italian. I miss the food, and the music, the opera and all-- My father was one of the original "back-room gang" at the old Victor Cafe (Which used to be the Smithsonian Institution of recorded vocal music).
Hey PHILLY CAPTAIN, great video along 11th St in South Phila..BOBBY RYDELL WAY-WILD WILDWOOD WILDWOOD DAYS, STRING BANDS, BLOCK PARTY MUMMERS PARADE-11TH ST & more..Very exciting..TOODLES...
That sure looked like a lot of fun. As for Mafia or Mob, I guess the Philly Inquirer gave us fictional accounts of some den of sin named the Merlino and Mazzone clans. Evidently, RUclips did as well in the many channels here on the subject including Mob Talk News & Infinite-Lee Productions. Bobby Darin was born in Harlem and grew up in the Bronx. He was also of Italian descent. Darn good singer, too. Thanks for the terrific coverage of the Mummers. They are always fun.
Fun Fact: I grew up in South Philly's Point Breeze neighborhood on Taylor Street between 25th & 24th Dickerson Sts until I moved to the Poplar neighborhood @ Age 5 because my parents had an argument & our house was falling apart. U don't have to like this comment.

フィラデルフィアは麻薬依存者が沢山集まる街。だけれども、市民はこんな風に元気に祭りも楽しんでいるんだな!良き。
I’d expand under the windows.
I grew up all over South Philly and left in early 2000's... I do miss it....
Born and bred Philadelphian it's not South Philadelphia but South Philly.
That thing of ours.
