True. Although I wonder what the odds are that in 200 years he may be considered the man who destroyed the world. His work has allowed a continued population increase that is stretching the limits of other resources than wheat. That population growth is driving climate change, pollution, potable water shortage, and human conflict to a level beyond what would be if the population was limited by food.
+Roxy RRR We are fed the tripe; ''he destroyed agriculture'' from industries that stand to benefit financially by villanizing modern agriculture. It's O.K. to not trust big corporations, nobody likes it when profiters decieve the public for a profit........ but it's not O.K. to give the Organic industry a free pass and allow them to use anti capitalist sentiments to manipulate the public for a profit. The capitalists have learned how to capitalize on anti capitalism.
Roxy RRR without his role in the Green Revolution, India would have most definitely collapsed. A lot of what we do in biomedical engineering besides finding ways to cure illnesses we also strive to make it more accessible. Mr. Borlaug believed it was everyone's duty to be fed. Those studies of it affecting nutritional value are something I have been looking into but havent had time to really look into more. For me, he is a hero. A man who didnt seek attention and did his best to leave a lasting influence which cant be said of many of those who criticize him. People now have been saying nuclear war can solve world population problem and global warming (kill many in the process)...
One of the greatest humanitarians who ever lived.
I can't believe that after two years of posting this video, no one's commented something... Norman Borlaug was incredible, a true humanitarian.

By your logic we should just not continue medical research.
by my logic , you two are waytoostupid :)
On a second thought Chad does make a good point in the end but pitty he sees Organic industry as industry or sees them/it as a competition.
