Every Monday, I send out an email with new videos. This way, I can reach people even if the RUclips algorithm isn't working for my videos. If that's for you, click here and put in your email address - eepurl.com/hSeKpj
Lyman: "Hey man, look, I... I kinda just... killed your pig. It was eating my potatoes again and I dunno man, I just, I kinda just... killed your pig. Killed your pig. Killed your pig..."
Griffin:"Having flashback of the nice memory with porky"
Griffin: YOOOOOOOOOU.. SWINE !!!
@@cgt3704 No, no the swine is the one I killed. I'm Lyman
@@rafaelzamudio354 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH
(crying)
Referencing Oversimplified?
There’s gonna be a tax for that.
ah yes, "it's up to you to keep your potatoes out of my pig!" it's like hearing a robber say "it's your job to keep me from robbing your house!"
now i want to see a whole documentary of the pig war all cuz of that one quote
Nice video man, love your content:)
Could you maybe do a video about the raid on the Medway/The Dutch Raid)
Thank you! I‘ll add it to my “maybe” list for my fall video schedule.
As a 54 year resident of San Juan Island, I celebrate this excellent video! I learned new facts and concepts that extended my knowledge of the event.
Lyman: "Hey man, look, I... I kinda just killed your pig. It was eating my potatoes again and I dunno man,I just, I kinda just... killed your pig. Killed your pig. Killed your pig..."
Charles: (Having nice memories with Porky). "You SWINE!"
Lyman: "No the swine is the one I killed. I'm Lyman."
Charles: *Crying and screaming angrily while punching Lyman* "AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHGGGGGGG WAAAA HAAAA HAAAAA WAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Oversimplified: "Dude... Uncool."
Thank you. Never knew of the "Pig War". Know of the potential war over Maine & New Brunswick in the late 1840's. There were numerous skirmishes between Brits and American Troops. I understand that the Governors of the bordering territories solved the issue. Thanks.
who else has known about the pig war even before over simplified, i was simply happy seeing people noticing it.
Dope ! as a resident it’s rather intriguing
Expensive potatoes!
It’s strange how little things can become a big thing, it’s something that I’ll never understand about people and why they must push things to a level that can get out of proportion. Just like the events after the assassination of the Archduke of Austria-Hungary and the lead up to WW1.
Is it okay if i see your sourses, I would like to write about this myself
Cool trivia.
Thank you Oversimplified I found another great channel
Oh boy this will get millions of views thanks to oversimplified
Let’s hope so lol
@@GeographyGeek Let us hope!
It's funny, I actually came to this video because the "oversimplified" version was far from simplified... 40 minutes was way too long 😂
@@corey2232 No it wasn't! Otherwise we wouldn't have scenes like when he takes that pig for a milkshake 😂
"a pig ate a potato"
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
i wonder where i heard that before.
Who ate the pig?
Good question
As a local of the region, these old maps are super cool!
Oink oink you got badoinked
Pickett really screwed up later on in the war at Five Forks, attending a clam bake, while his men were being overrun by General Sheridan, but The Gettysburg charge was just the luck of the draw, his division had been to the rear of The Confederate marching order, so was the only one untouched by the 3rd day
"Lyman, if you spare my life, I'll grant you three wishes."
💥🔫
AHAHAAHAHAAAA! 😈
One person of interest that was involved, but not mentioned in the video, was Henry Martyn Robert who later went on the publish Robert's Rules of Order which is widely used for parliamentary procedures. At the time of the conflict, Robert was an Army engineer that helped build fortifications on the American side.
Wassup
An interesting what if. I find two aspects of this story interesting. The first is the future of the participants: George Pickett, George McClellan mama and general Hardy. I did a video on general Hardee’s massacre of a group of Sioux Indians at the battle of Bluewater Creek. The second interesting aspect is the ability of the United States and the United Kingdom to resolve their disputes, after the war of 1812, peacefully.
In October, 2022 General Harney's name (not Hardy or Hardee) for the major east/west channel in the San Juan Islands of Washington was stricken from the records in a short nine days by the US Board of Geographic Names, and changed to Cayou Channel to honor a local Native American entrepreneur. Harney got his comeuppance for his dastardly event at the battle of Bluewater Creek against the Sioux Indians. As a 54 year resident of the San Juan Islands, this excellent video brought up concepts I'd not considered .
Say Lyman, thems some nice spuds you’ve got there, would be a shame if somebody… *ate them*
All that over a pig
Sooooooo.... Who owns the islands now though?
The US
