Super C RVing WEST to Idaho! (Goodbye Ohio)

- Lets go West! We decided it was time to leave Ohio, and go visit family in Idaho. This video showcases us high-tailing it to Idaho and boondocking along the way.
We first stopped at the Iowa 80 truck stop (the largest in the world!). Mike has been here in a semi many time over, but we have only had a trailer here a handful of times. it was a great pit stop. They seem to always have parking, but none of the RV parking was open. Luckily when we stopped at 2am (local) we had plenty of parking to pick from.
The next day we continued West, and we decided to stop in Western South Dakota in Wall. We visited Wall Drug and enjoyed our time there!
then it was on to Missoula Montana at the Cracker Barrel.
Finally the next stop was Lynn's brothers place in northern Idaho around Sandpoint!
Stay tuned to our next video where we showcase the week we spend in Idaho visiting family and truly enjoying the scenery.

Until next time, See ya!

Nice picture of Mike sitting on the bench with a pretty blonde he found. He seems rather good at finding pretty blondes.
Haha he must have a type
Always fun driving across the country. Have fun. Safe travels.
We really enjoy the travel!
I loved it! Mike is my kinda guy!!! Champagne from the bottle!!! YES!!!! Great video!!!!!
Champagne glasses are for people who like to do dishes😂 no thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video guys! Stay tuned for more Western Wagner fun lol
🤙🏼🤙🏼still don’t see how Mike chugs champagne 🤣awesome video Lynn
Haha he takes a few swigs then rests then a few more and puts it away
The I-80 truck stop is a hour and a quarter from my house. Their annual truck show is really something to see.
Haven't seen it but I can only imagine!
Awesome video. Beautiful views. Thanks
Thank you! The views just never get old
What a beautiful video!
Thank you very much!
One thing I liked about traveling was when my daughters would make lunch while we were driving down the road so when we did stop it was short stop times.
Doesn't get much better! 😁
Wow, it raining on your trip lol, go figure, but thank's for sharing, it's been a long time since I went across I 90 it's got alot of awesome stuff to see, look forward to where you go next...if you have time,go south on hwy 191 from 90 it will take you to Moab 😉👍
Yeah, rain, snow, wind, sleet, ice we got it all! Haha great time though
You guys are awesome to watch. My husband drove a big truck for years. We have a 32ft class C. Love how we can stop and eat, sleep and use our own bathroom. I’m so sorry that some of these people are so negative that are posting here.
Thank you so much! We are loving the motorhome for travel. So easy to get a snack, go to the bathroom and all that. Appreciate the comment guys!😊💗
Favorite thing about RV travel is using my own bathroom 😊
One of our favorite things too😁😁👏🏻
You guys stirred up some memories! Iv stayed at the Iowa 80 truck plaza many times back in my over the road trucking days. Cleanest showers of in truck stop in the country. I enjoy your videos
The truck stop that has everything! Haha it is always a great pit stop
Favorite thing while in transit in the RV: clean bathroom
Yes! We love everything about RVing especially our own bathroom while traveling
I sure enjoy following you on each of your adventures. Hope you are having a great visit.
Thank you so much! We hope you continue to follow us along. So far we are having a great visit!
This has me excited! We leave in two weeks for a 16 day vacation to Disney golf shores, then new Orleans!
Sounds like a great trip ahead of you!
I tow a camper, but my favorite thing is stopping and peeing in my own rig while being bounced around by big rigs passing. Sometimes I have to wipe the sides off. : - D
Definitely a huge highlight of RV ownership! Love the bathroom
Wall Drug in July.... been there! My favorite thing about RV travel is no matter where you are, you are still at home in the RV. Awesome trip!
I can only imagine how busy it was for you in July!😳
There's just nothing like RV travel that's for sure!
Great video!! We’re fellow Ohioans getting ready to spread our wings and start Motor-homing across our beautiful country. Rick
Thanks for watching! You'll love the motorhome life
We like to drink our champagne right out of the bottle too 😆 Those mountain views are pretty awesome! Safe travels!
Why dirty a glass?😁
Enjoy 😉
Thank you!
Good to see you out and about other than weekend trips. Good, hard working folks deserve it. Safe travels.
Glad great to stretch our legs again! Been too long. We planned to do this last year but covid... Hopefully many more to come soon
Another great video really enjoyed it you were right the mountain views were awesome regarding your comment on the rainy snow over here in England we call it sleet 👍👍👍
This wasn't sleet it was snow balls that sounded like rain when they smacked the windshield lol either way it was an interesting ride out west!
It is always good to spend time with family, great video as always.
Yes it is!
My fave thing about RV travel is that no matter where I stop, I’m always home! Bath, bed, kitchen and lounge. Not bad at all !!!! :-)
Yes! It's so great to have the comforts of home with you all the time
You guys passed within 1.5 miles of our house in Hayden, Idaho. Enjoy your stay in the gem state
Oh how cool! We are really loving Idaho!!😎🏔
Have fun w your family. You had me reminiscing about when we were your ages and used to travel 700 mile or 7-8 hour days. I’m glad to say we don’t do that anymore. Fav thing(s) about our Airstream is having our own bath, bed and kitchen when we stop. Safe travels 🇺🇸
Luckily with Mike's trucker blood it makes longer travel easier but hopefully we won't have to do those long days in the future! The bathroom is a key player and MVP for a lot of people it seems!
Nice video
We are doing a long trip This summer with similar stops
We are driving from Florida to Yellowstone
Hopefully you have a great trip!
Spent a night in Sandpoint on our trip from NC to Oregon. Loved the local Pie Shop. Safe travels.
My brother & family just relocated to Sandpoint they have 11 acres of pure beauty to explore now!
We just love going West!! Have fun!!
Thanks guys!
We love going west. We’ve went west the past 3 summers. It will be weird going east this summer. Looking forward to your future episodes from this trip.
Thanks guys! It's been far too long since we were West. We are hoping to work out it where we can do more longer trips more often so fingers crossed for that haha🤞🏻😊
Great video looks beautiful at your brothers house , you might be a able to get the shock for your door at a auto supply , you guys be safe safe traveling and enjoy the trip 👍👍
Yeah we might get that fixed on this trip but haven't worried about it yet haha thanks for watching!
Glad you didn't have snow and ice going over lookout and 4th of July pass.. enjoy sandpoint than head back to Montana for glacier national park.
We hit a little snow but nothing crazy. After we left the area they did get more snow in Montana and Wyoming!
I've seen other commenters said the same thing but my wife and I both agree...our own bathroom. We're actually at the Tetons for the summer and so far enjoying it immensely!!
The bathrooms are a big hit with us, especially in a motorhome!
Wall Drug, love it. Hope you had a safe travel.
Thanks! We had a nice stop over there so we just had to visit the store since we saw what felt like 5000 signs for it😂
Love the Airstream pillows. Adds a little class. Lol. The black jeep looks way better behind the Wraith than the blue jeep does.
😂 we couldn't let those go with the Airstream. Had to keep them as keepsakes lol
Love that part of the country! Such a beautiful part of our country!
Yes it is! We live going west. Just wish we could do it more often
Hi there!! Welcome out west!! Let me know if you want to come down to Ouray CO; you're welcome to moochdock on our secondary driveway!
That would be amazing! If we had that way we will let you know
Looks like a great trip. Been at that truck stop a few time. Amazing how big it is.
I'm glad it's that big, then we know there's always open space haha
I've got rig envy. Here's to your safe travels.
We love this setup! Perfect for travel. Thank you😁
Awesome! We're seriously looking at the Wraith.
We have been very happy with it. The mods we've done have been worth it to us
Great job filming and editing enjoy your trip hoping to travel soon from fla to ohio.😎
Thank you! Appreciate that very much. 😊
My favorite thing about traveling with our RV is you dont have to worry about bathroom breaks lol.And eating your own food.Great video guys.🙂🇨🇦👍
Bathroom breaks are a breeze with a RV! Thank you for the comment😁
2nd that !
That looks like an awesome trip. Have fun
Thanks, Jason! It's been great so far
Drove from here Utah and stayed at the same Cracker barrel the first night. Stayed a week up near Coeur d'Alene at a state campground that was perfect! Love that area ❤️
Cracker Barrels are a great place to overnight! This is our first time visiting Idaho and we are loving it
That route looks familiar... I travel it to my production facility outside of Billings and to my mine in Casper. Enjoy the time with family!
Both great areas! We almost bought land outside Casper a few years back. Kicking ourselves now for not doing it
Hey Lynn, did Mike buy one of those buffalo heads at Wall Drug for the Wraith garage? If not, I bet he was tempted. I don't know if you guys are old enough to remember Sonny Elliott the weatherman on channel 4 in Detroit but he would have called what you were getting in Wyoming snain as in SNow and rAIN. Anyway, it looks like you guys are having a fun time. I'm jealous I need to get my Ghost out there soon. Maybe later this year in Colorado.
Haha no bison heads for us😂 yet we are having a blast!
Spent half of my life in that truck stop I think.... Memories!!!
We've spent quite a few in RVs and Mike's spent too many to count in the semi haha
As always absolutely enjoy watching. Be sweet if could watch you daily
Sometimes we share twice a week!
Idaho, your in our home State. You are a bit further north, we are in Eagle which is just slightly northwest of Boise. Enjoy, Idaho is beautiful.
Thank you! We are really loving it here🙌🏻💗
Wishing you a great time even thou you guys are the rain makers! LOL Keep us up to date would like to meet your family.
We do bring the rain😩🌧 and sometimes the snow haha but still have fun
Scenery looks incredible, took that trek from Ohio to Whidbey island Washington but not in a Rv, never stopped at the drug store but did see every sign for it🤣🤣🤣
I've been to Whidbey island! The brother I visit in Idaho used to live in Seattle and our family rented a house on the island on one trip.
I think Wall drug has 500 signs leading up to it😂
Enjoy Idaho, it is a beautiful place. If time allows you may consider routing south through Boise and then East.
We will only be in the northern part this time but we are really going to go to southern Idaho because we're are really loving it here!
What an awesome start to the trip. I see Dave's secret is now out. A sandwich is a sandwich but a manwich is a Dave Fitch meal!
Haha😂 these two and their manwich
Like having the. Bathroom whenever we need it
Absolutely! We agree 100%
Great show guys
Thank you!😁
Looks nice out there, makes me want to hook and ge! be safe guys.
Just do it! We need to do it a lot more. Hopefully soon we can do this more and more🤞🏻🤞🏻
Wave as you go thru Bozeman. I’ll wave back!
Haha👋🏻👋🏻
Get rid of the canned stuff..... Brown 1lb ground beef. When done, add: 1 cup ketchup, 1 tbsp of sweet relish, 1 tbsp mustard. You can add onion or onion salt if you want also. Simmer for 30 minutes. So easy and you usually will have the ingredients on hand. My mom always made it this way. My wife grew up on manwich, but after she had my moms, she only makes it this way and she loves it.
We'll have to give that a try if Mike will allow it😂
@@WanderingWagners if he doesn’t like it, I’ll send him a can of manwich. 😁
Haha good deal!
I’m in Eastern Idaho about an hour away from yellowstone
Awesome!
Great video thanks
Thank you for watching!
Does Dave do all the driving?
The dogs are such great travelers!! When I finally retire I’ll be getting a dog for sure. It’ll just be me and my Dobie, full time in the travel trailer. Can’t wait!!
You mean Mike? Yes Mike primarily does the driving. Though I offered to help but he's just better at haha Piper is the best travel dog! Guy needs meds now but we make it work.
@@WanderingWagners Ugh! I was on the phone with my friend Dave at the time. You must’ve thought I was a nutcase!😜
@@loriw2661 I just thought you got confused because Mike's said it was Dave's (Dave from following the Fitchs) secret family recipe haha
Cool cool coach and personally I wouldn't flat tow ur jeep I personally would trlr tow it they have aluminum trlrs that will handle the weight plus lighter than steel trlrs if the weight is a issue however trlr tow to me would be better cus it can be done however flat towing is bad on the jeep trans and if it's 4x4 it's bad on the transfer case too and make sure u check all bolts nuts and pins on ur tow bar ever so often also would change them out ever so often too good rule would be at every 2 or 3 oil changes or however that's my personal opinion tho sending up prayers 4 yall and cool cool travels enjoy ur vids it's as if right there with yall keep walking tall and bless great healthy peaceful safe journeys travels and happy camping ohhhh and really like the I 80 truck stop nothing like it cool yall have fun 4 me too lol
🚐⛺🌌🌄🏞👍👍💪🙂👍👍
Thanks for the comment! Great trip so far
I flew in to Missoula when I visited my dad in Salmon ID.
Montana is huge and beautiful! I see why people love it
What? You had sloppy joe's without me?? Our favorite thing - seeing places we haven't seen before.. our least favorite thing - dog farts!
Thanks for sharing your secret family recipe with Mike so now we can have it anytime we want haha
@@WanderingWagners I'm sure they were good!
Favorite thing about traveling is I can use my own bathroom!!!! Hahaaaaaaa!!
Yes!!🙌🏻 One of our favorite things too
Wall Drug is the ultimate tourist trap.
Yes it is! And we are from tourist towns... I honestly excited more from it😂
You need to come to California and bring that Wagner rain with you we could use it.
Haha no kidding!
Welcome to Idaho from Boise!
Thank you! 😁🙌🏻
you should see Wall during Sturgis Bike Week.
Haha! That's a big no thanks😂 I can't imagine the crowds
Ok a couple of thoughts first love the video the scenery is beautiful in that part of the country, secondly was it 4 or 5 days of travel to get there from Ohio? Last thought I’m thinking you guys might be able to get the state of California to pay you to come visit a few times a year nobody needs the rain like they do lol ! Hope you have a great time!❤️
The scenery is just gorgeous around every corner! It took us about 3 days to get there.
California should pay us to visit to bring the rain! Haha it's been a few years since we were last there too
I have a question. How's the power in your motor home, specifically going up mountain grades? We had a 36' total length Renegade with the 12.8L/450hp/1550 lbft Mercedes I-6 diesel and you have significantly less power. I really loved all the power, especially in the Sierra and Rockies.
It does well but it's not fast or anything. Appalachian mountain climbs we were going 45 at the peak. Rockies 55-58 at the peaks. Still passing semis so not like we were the slowest on the roads haha we do have videos showing how it performed on both if interested.
fun fact, i’ve been to all 3 locations you’ve mentioned.
Haha that's pretty funny!
I'm in Idaho now. 14 miles from west Yellowstone.
This was our first time RVing in Idaho. Love it
@@WanderingWagners I'm here til mid August.
Ran into a guy from Sandpoint coming back to Arkansas during last trip.
Small world! It's a great small town
@@WanderingWagners a few years ago on an Alaskan cruise, our table mates were from Sandpoint. When we got home we saw him Wheel of Fortune.
Having a sanitary toilet. Sorry but it’s my number one ☝️
That's definitely a great number 1 (and 2😂 sorry had to) we love having a bathroom accessable all the time to
I gotta ask, did you call ahead to Cracker Barrel? Or just stop in and stay? I’ve heard people say both ways are fine, just wasn’t sure what you do. We are going to stay at a Cracker Barrel on the way to Myrtle Beach, I’m just curious. Happy camping. Enjoy your family. Safe travels back.
We use the RV parky app to check if they allow overnight parking or not. If they do, then you don't need to ask (in our opinions). Not all of them allow it or have the room. But if we stay we always make sure to make a purchase!
Awesome app!! I just downloaded. Thank you so much!! We love CB… so breakfast is a must 😬
Awesome sites guys!!! Question for Mike... can DOT pull campers/RV's over for an inspection? I always wondered... I always perform a pre-trip inspection before I leave anyways.... its the trucker in me I guess...🤣
I'm sure they could if the vehicle visually looked unsafe, and we've seen a few of those!
@@WanderingWagners I figured too... just never seen it! Have fun you two!
Thank you!
I live out west and have been looking at the Wraith but I am worried that the engine is under powered for the Rocky mountains. How did yours handle pulling the Jeep?
It did better than we thought! We actually have a video coming out later this week probably on Thursday, where we show us going over the Continental divide!
Welcome to the Pacific Northwest, God’s Country!
Thank you! It's quite beautiful and we are enjoying our time
Does Mike do all the driving?
On this trip, he did. I offered but he doesn't mind it
So how did the add on jake brake work in the hillsout west?
We actually have a video of us going over and down the Continental divide! It'll be out next week sometime I think. We think it did great though!
this trip was through several different state, any trouble with DOT scales? Or do you stop an pull through them? Always been curious as most people say you don't have to pull through the scaled as your not a commercial vehicle, driving a Super C
No issues at all. As long as it is registered as an RV you don't have to go through the scale house. The exception would be if you were commercially transporting an RV for profit, now you're considered "commercial" and have to pull in to the scales.
@@WanderingWagners Thank you so much, yours was the clearest most complete answer from any I asked this question too. Safe journeys and have fun...rains gotta stop sometime :-)
2200 miles. How much in gas? How many gallons? Aprox 33 Total hours driven .
We didn't keep track of the gallons of diesel, sorry.
Bring that rain to California
Haha we get that request a lot😂🌧
How fast does Mike drive?
65 on the interstate
Do you fill up when you get down to 1/2 tank?
Usually try to fill between a 1/4 and a half
Sleeping in a bed I'm familiar with.
That is great too!!
I see this video has 5 thumbs down. Have ever anyone explained why they gave one?
No, not really. I just assume they get upset or jealous or whatever the case may be. No explanations. Someone said they didn't like me in the thumbnails (Lynn) and thumbs down. For instance our newest video has me in a bikini and that guarantees to get plenty of thumbs down... More than normal haha
Did you find a pull thru at the truck stop? If not, how do you park if you can’t back in?
Yes we found a pull thru! Otherwise we'd have to disconnect the Jeep
Good deal. I have rarely found pull throughs that are not reserved (cost extra), so I generally unhook at the yellow line and have my wife back the toad into a spot, then I back in the MH so I can retook out of the way. Is there a trick to finding free pull throughs or was it just luck of the draw at 02:00?
@@1957ShutterBug go to the furthest back of the lot. Most Truck drivers are lazy and won't want to be at the back haha we've never not found a place where we could pull through (yet).
Interesting video. You are selling us on the idea of trading our Skinny Winnie View for a Wraith. What type of fuel mileage are you getting?
We get 8.5-9.5mpg running 65mph towing the Jeep
@@WanderingWagners Thanks. That is better than expected for such a large vehicle. We get in the 12's with our Sprinter-based View when towing our 2-door Wrangler JL and it isn't half the size and weight of the Wraith.
My favorite thing to do in my Class C motorhome is I can continue driving and I don't have to stop every 15 miles for my wife to pee
That is truly an amazing feature! We love the bigger fuel tank so even less stopping🙌🏻
What city in idaho i live i. Homedale idaho
Sandpoint Idaho
The music track is not too relaxing, very stressful!
Sorry you didn't like it this time Jonathan😞
7:40 haha Mike is definitely a 1 woman man......(uncomfortable look).
😂😂 you got that right
you came and visited, now go home. idaho is full.
Thanks for watching
Full of what, if i may ask?
Hi noticed your windshield was dirty ( you traveled a lot so to be expected) wanted to tell you we use a yoga mat on our windshield to prevent possible rocks chips and to
Keep our windshield clean while traveling. Thought I’d share something we do maybe you’d like to try it too!! We enjoy your videos!! Be well and happy travels! 😄👍
We haven't thought of that! Great tip, we will have to give it a try. Thanks for watching& for the comment😊
Lived in Coeur d’Alene form2 years working for the paper - Gorgeous area. Sandpoint has amazing skiing!!!
My brother enjoys skiing so there excited to get to do that more often!
Y’all need to come on down to the south. Louisiana. Great videos. Thanks
We'd love to go back down to the South!
