What I would have done to make so many games with only 8 different games would be to divide the position in the list by 8 using floor division, then use different bit fields from the resulting number to determine what patches to apply to the game ROM, such as alternate graphics and altered gameplay. Better yet, just have the eight games selectable from the main menu and then have a separate menu for the game options. Maybe have the player enter a string of letters similar to a Game Genie code, then use a similar method to the one I just described, except using that string of letters. Advertising: "TWO-THOUSAND-FORTY-EIGHT GAMES IN EIGHT!" This actually sounds like a mildly intriguing idea. Perhaps I should make this into a real thing.
Ninja Hattori actually gives you 9 hit points (indicated as a number next to a letter “P” that stands for “Power” at the top right), but certain enemies take multiple HP from you and the football guys trample you in one hit. It’s a hard game, but it can be enjoyed with enough patience.
