To be honest, All of the E.G.O. users (so far) awakened their E.G.O. by being accepting themselves being self-centered, I think that's one of the requirement tbh, like that's why they called it EGO

even though it's not evident in the game ,i'd like to think dongrang care about people around him more than we think and also very impulsive after failing to stop Samjo death ,he hold that grudge against Dongbaek along with the fact she also bombed his work places and kill many other of his subordinate, that's why he stabbed her at the end of part 2 and the reason he give in part 3 was most likely an excuse rather and him confessing that he rat during the script play was probably because he felt guilty about it but don't want to face the consequence of admitting it so what better time to do that than admitting your crime to the person you've hurted the most through their undead consciousness. ofc ,i could be giving him too much credit as well
@@hellatze he's definitely hold a grudge over that but i don't think it's the main reason that lead to him stabbing dongbaek, a long time has passed and he found a new place with new friends but she come in and destroy it all again so i think the main reason is still the bombing and killing
He desperately tried to escape the past and move on from it, he was even willing to destroy everything related to the past just so it no longer tormented him, yet in the end, he still felt guilt somewhere deep down, and that guilt is what led to his fall. That is why despite him manifesting EGO, something that was meant to give people the ability to be free and change their fate as stated by Carmen in Lobotomy Corp, he is shown having broken wings in the final cutscene. He is also the first character I can think of that manifests EGO for purely selfish reasons (that being erasing his past) as opposed to others who manifest EGO in order to protect themselves and/or others.

After replaying everything when going for the EXclears I think dongbaek's theme is more like a dream while dongrang is heavier like a harsh reality
