Mud crabs are the secret. Thank you so much for helping all the people here to learn good fishing techniques. I just subscribed. Your dialog is so informative. Thanks. I guess it doesn't get any fresher than that.
good vid JC. sheepshead are very finicky with the baits, they actually chew the crab on the hood before they pull away. that's why I put the small weight at the tip, and the size 2 mustad about 2-3 feet up. I can feel the smallest bite. tight lines..👋
Living the dream some day I'll retire and fish and live in Florida great video my friend I will put the pomp jigs you sent me in Florida some day God bless my friend
JC, I got an idea every time you pinch off one of those good size claws or any of the claws off of the mud crabs if they’re decent size I think you should just throw it back in the bucket so when you’re done if the bite is really good but you keep losing the bait. You should try maybe one of the claws or two of the claws or three you know stacked up and catch me being an extra cheap pet on it or two or three.
Great video JC, as far as sliders go you need to make sure that you have the Kings Hawaiian bread on Deck. As far as sheepshead sliders go that sounds pretty good
I really think you should always try to keep your line tight so you can feel the slightest bite as a bass fisherman no matter if you’re in Stillwater or moving water, you always wanna have your line taught enough that you could feel anything even if it’s a little loose you could still feel the slightest tap specially with sheep head. PS I love watching you fish and camp out in your truck. when I moved to Tampa, maybe we could fish Skyway camp, catch and cook. and I’ll cook.
Not sure why you lost the first few but it looked like your hook might have been bent out. That’s happened to me and I kept asking myself what the heck.
More so your not keeping the line without slack, so by the time the line move like you wait for, the teeth have crunched away and your bait no longer has bite on the hook. Just my 2 cents
NO! After all that and your using vegetable oil? No way. Use avocado oil or bacon fat, kind of good stuff, butter would be best. Any way, enjoy you deserve it.
It’s funny how I’m always looking for shade to keep my bait alive, and you keep your bait in the sun and I see them slowly dying. Is it better to use dead crabs? Can anyone answer? I’m asking because I have only used crabs once, and alive. I can always get dead ones at the bait shop. By the way, I only fished for convicts once, for 10 minutes.
It was a cold day. Those crabs actually stayed alive for two more days. I always rinse them off with saltwater at least every 6 hours. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I lost what I think would have been my pb sheep’s head (even beating my current pb i have now 18”) while fishing a bridge during the mullet run. Due to a pelican running into my line giving the sheepshead enough slack tho throw the hook
Great video, JC. I'm a brand new fisherman and the first task is tackle some Sheeps. N.E. FL area. 🤙🏻
The sheepmaster!
👍🏼🤙🏼
Merry Christmas JC!!
WOW! Thanks for your support.

12 months until retirement. I can't wait to do this full time.
Nice

JC, you did very well, but leave some Sheeps for me please!😀
Thanks for another great video .. looked like your hook was bent out of shape
Nice Sheep's , almost as big as the 22 incher you caught with me brother. Hungry again now so time to eat. Peace.
You need to come up to northeast Florida, we have some monster Sheepshead.
Hello jc happy fishing Wednesday night how have you been 👍🏼🎣
Nice fish.you must come and make some videos in SA
I was waiting for a hook set on all those lost crabs.
🔥🔥🔥

Cut that fat one open and get your crabs back! 🤣 Love the videos, especially the camping ones!
Try tying the crab with magic thread on the hook it will be harder for the sheep’s head to tear it off
The thing about sheephead you can’t give them too much time! Once you feel the bite set the hook quick
🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
I remember this spot from last year or a few years ago! I had success a few days after that video in this area same spot! Will be going again soon...
Where was this vid shot?
And plus once you see the line moving set the hook quick
What’s the difference between a fiddler crab and a mud crab?
Great video, delicious
Sheepy whisper JC

Luckily nobody has cleaned out my sheepshead spot. But that might change soon. Luckily I have backup spots.
This time of year is a lot of fun fishing from shore.
Bait cotton - why don't you use it?
(* it's more important to eat & stay alive, then to get caught!)

Take off the claws, they are known for taking the bait off the hook cuz they pull at the claws
Not exactly a “ monster “ but decent fish.
I can never catch them no matter what bait I use!
Nahhh kayak one was bigger
Set the damn hook. You’re feeding fish, not catching them.
Go snook fishing please
It's Sheepshead season though, ha ha...
Trash fish
No, no, no, the saltwater Sheepshead are delicious.
