I really love the Pickups and the wiring in this guitar .. I have for years wanted to have a custom Ibanez Iceman style guitar, ideally a 1978 japanese model, that was cusomiEd to have almost exactly this kind of wiring and pickups with a hot, agressive but passive bridge Humbucker, and a really fat, warm and clear sounding P-90 in the kneck... What's amazingly great sounding guitar .

Best demo yet for this guitar
Fantastic playing as always Nick
Epiphone needs to roll out an RD with a sunburst finish. I would buy one in an instant.
They should bring back the Artisan series.... they'd definitely sell
I have 2 Gibson Les Paul’s a 94 standard and a2020 classic along with a strat nd a 72 tele deluxe. My best guitars by far are my Artisan like the one here and my natural casino from the late 90’s. That should speak volumes.😅8
Mics P94?
The fretboard isn't rosewood 😉
Great guitar I own one. Never watched this demo all the way through but now realize the reason I took out the P90 neck pickup and subsequently swapped out both pickups. The dummy coil does NOT make this noiseless. The hum from the neck pickup in this demo is cringy. I took out the dummy coil and put DiMarzio Super Distortions in the neck and bridge. Best passive pickups on the market.
how does that work for cleans? I'm kinda torn bc I want a guitar that can do metal well but also have beautiful cleans (maybe not the best of both but able to pull both off very adequately)
Can I buy it somewhere at the moment? or no longer get it?
Think Amercian musical supply is still selling them. Could be wrong though...
Check Reverb too
Just bought one recently. It’s honestly a little to bright for me. I think im gonna put some emgs in it.
I have the explorer version and it works great for me if I boost the bass a bit more than I usually would
Man I love the sound of these pickups and especially the wiring combo along with the P-90. I used to own an actual Japanese made ESP ( not LTD) eclipse with a bolt on kneck, and a Floyde Rose . It had EMG 81s in it, and at the time I loved it ( still would, but..) but now I prefer the definition and tonal character that passive pickups give a guitar .. for me it's sort of like... You can take any guitar pretty much, and slap active EMGs in it and it would sound like Metallica pretty much... Which is excellent.. but to me EMGs seen to overtake the tonality and character of a guitar, and turn it into EMGs.
Don't get me wrong, I love a good guitar loaded with EMGs... It's just I sorta grew to love good passive pickups for thier unique character more
this thing...white...satin neck - buy in an instant . are there alternatives that might match the description?
Faethon888 Hagstrom fantomen
yeah, thought about that one, but it will be a risky buy (no chance to actually check on out at a physical store) :) thanks for the suggestion though!
Eastwood RD! I love mine!!!
hm... thank you for the tip!
I am confused.
Why isnt he doing the fake, gushing over every aspect of this guitar?
I did not know some people do actual, honest reviews on here.
Admit it...most of us bought these because they look like the Ghost Guitars but more fancy lol
What pedal for distortion in this demo?
Some great playin, think I need one, thanks! Now give me some yer treasure rrrrrrrr
ROBERT MOOG is the reason the original was a monster for all styles of music. Gibson RD Artist is the model. Listen to Bram Tschaikovsky to hear it.
Would you recommend this guitar or are there better alternatives at this price point ?
honestly there are no alternatives at this price if you want anything similar
Best guitar I’ve ever played hands down. And it’s affordable as hell
@@joshs5135 good. i really really love the look of this thing, and i love the sound of a p90 and a humbucker. this thing is totally me
Turtle McGee I have the explorer version and it’s the most versatile guitar I own. I can get almost any tone out of it. If my band ever tours I think I’ll just have like 4 Lee Malia sigs In different tunings
Turtle McGee ehh fantomen
Well dang, you can't be that sexy AND have that awesome accent AND that gorgeous hair AND play like that! It's too much! LOL. Just kidding. It's never too much but it is definitely appreciated. :P So on to why I came here. I just saw this beauty in a pawn shop about an hour ago. I had never heard of nor seen this model before. But I was instantly captivated by it. Now that I've watched this review, I'm definitely going to go back and put a deposit on it. It's just too good to pass up!
Indeed very good looking, but (clean ?) soundwise , hmmm. .. nah ... buzzzzz.
Will Kupers the clean sounds great on a clean settings amp. The EVH III doesn't seem to have that option but my M/B JP-2C does through the same 6L6s on the switchable 1st channel. The cleans, specially on the P94 neck pickup, sound very snappy and full. The other pickup options follow. Note: this guitar's neck pickup can get noisy due to the P94's 60 cycle hum and for me the dummy pickup at back doesn't cancel out much and I had to shield its cavity to somewhat lessen noise. I don't like using a noisegate even though I own one so I don't lose the RD's expressive response. The bridge pickup is very hot and responsive and combines nicely with the P94 and/or coil split. Overall this is a very well made guitar with a decently thin and fast neck. I also own the Lee Malia's Explorer. I didn't get his LP Artisan because it's missing the dummy coil at back and it's very heavy weightwise.
Will... that's what single coil pickups do. Even adding a dummy coil won't totally kill RF interference, unless it's in the pickup itself. And that's called a humbucker.
PS, although it does sound like the pickups are too powerful to clean up with that amp. For clean sounds, i would have thought an EVH is probably not the best choice.
I'm almost certain that is because the audio in this video sucks anyways.
@@leonelbarragan602 I run mine through a Carvin V3 mini combo and it's absolutely beautiful sounding
Horrible clean sounds....but I'm sure that is just the amp settings. The Explorer version is absolutely amazing.
Beautiful clean sounds...and I'm sure it's not just the amp...though they are on the brink of dirt :) and that, with the ear caressing melody, of course, is what it makes it so beautiful
i had to be the 666th like for the boy
Lol "don't be cocnerned about breaking this"
First one i find on market place has a broken neck.
Wrong scale length
