@@ominiekwe7241 Yes, many who work in the developed area live in the settlements. Obviously they can't afford to live in the rich houses. Although there should still be affordable housing, even if very basic. Some are even safeguarding the land.
Thank you for the tour, brother 🙏 Great job well done 👏 ✔️ #Subscribed. I love how incredibly friendly and accommodating they are, both the kids and adults. These children with humble beginnings do extraordinarily well later in life. They're hidden talents.
Another excellent tour! I think claiming land for development is necessary, and it’s what’s been done all around the world. However, there needs to be a system in place to support the people being moved from the area so they aren’t displaced. The issue is Nigeria doesn’t care about the poor, so I doubt these people were given such consideration and care.
Enjoyed your tour of the village. Rather than displace the indigenes (thousands in my view) and the settlement for the affluent, greedy politicians and their collaborators; given what is required to acquire, build and live; what is required in my opinion, is for Government to regenerate the community with basic amenities - roads leaving to the village, paved alleys, a health Centre/ ensure sanitation, at least a primary school and community areas for recreation and commerce. Let the poor also breathe. And let’s build City Centres that accommodate ALL, not only for the affluent. Let’s promote diversity and inclusivity. Let’s bring back our cherished culture/ urban living where the King/rich live side by side the middle class and poor. Surulere, (Lagos comes to mind, growing up). That is how we can inculcate Empathy and bring back community living and not the elitism and brazen classism you see on display in our urban planning, exhibited by our leaders and their children/ wards.
I do have 3000 sq meter land in that same kpaduma village in Guzape main With Cofo but couldn't develop it due to the same encroachment. Hopefully they resettle the villagers soon. I think next time you should ask them questions! About there resettle and why the government neglected them
In a civilized country, this place would have been the most expensive area in the city because of its landscape and view overlooking the city. Some neighborhood in Capetown, South Africa look exactly like this and it’s very expensive to live there.
Kai this place is very dirty. If not wickedness of our politicians, no Nigerian deserve to live in this kind of environment. Nigeria is a rich country. It pains me...........

@afrikanheritage99 I am an American. Those homeless people choose to live on the streets. America has a safety network in which every citizen and no citizen can get help. It comes from our taxes. .

This is the capital city!!!!!! . The government needs to add a 500 N tax to every item sold in Nigeria to help the poor develop. They will make it back 100 times over from these same poor people when they develop and can contribute to the country.
Unfortunately this village needs to be removed. The government must build sustainable housing for these people. People should not live like this in such a rich city.
This place will soon develop ad look beautiful
Absolutely
Nah! Government doesn't have any plan to develop it. I do own a land in that village and I can assure you that
I must commend your passion for what you are doing. Keep it up.
Thank you
What a contrast to the developed area. Thanks for the raw tour.
All those places are temporarily settlement

Guzape will soon be more beautiful than Assokoro because of its modern building
@@ololo0428 I tend to agree
It's just a matter of time the owner of that layout will take what belongs to him or her.
I own a property there with cofo! Honestly I don't think nigeria government has a plan to resettle those villagers.

You can not tell me a very religious country like Nigeria tolerates people living in this condition. This is unbelievable. Thanks for the video.
Religious?? what's that got to do with anything???
The same people who brought us the religions brought slavery and colonialism!

Please, you might type poverty and homeless crisis in America on RUclips to realize these villagers are rich with have roof over their heads.

In an ideal world that’s what’s supposed to happen, but with our government they’ll just chop the tax money. Nigeria doesn’t care about the poor.
So, because it's the capital city, the poor should be run outta town?
They don't need to tax them govt already have the money , they should just develop every where.
Someone will steal all of that money
