Alexander McKee was also involved in salvaging items from The Royal Charter which was sunk by an unprecedented and abnormally powerful hurricane on the 26th October, 1859, off the east coast of the island of Anglesey. His book "The Golden Wreck" is about this ship. The storm led to the development of British weather forecasting.

The 'Andrea Doria' did NOT collide with the 'Stockholm'.
The 'Stockholm' 't-boned' the 'Andria Doria'.

People poke fun at the Vasa all the time but tbh I am glad it sank because the recovery is so freaking awesome. Example of hubris vs. function.

While I have great respect for Shackleton and HIS ENDURANCE, nothing built during those times could have survived what that ship had to cope with down there.
    Talk about overestimating?
GREAT stories and reveal why I prefer to stick to lakes alas rivets.

The Carpathia took several hours to reach the spot where the Titanic sunk. Titanic had sunk prior to Carpathia's arrival.

That's what they get for renaming the ship, it is considered bad luck and frowned upon by most sailors to this day

Unless you name the vessel "Salty Balls." If you name the vessel Salty Balls, it's like a protection over the ship.

Most ships change names a few times throughout their lives. But I have heard it’s bad luck.

Shame that the pictures dont often match with the subject being discussed - the underwater pics of Dokos show a table that is about 3500 years newer than the Bronze Age... shame we cant be more accurate!
