When I got mine, I wanted the artist to follow my natural hairline exactly. I also brought many pictures of years past where I still had lots of hair but shaved it down. He meticulously followed my request and my hairline looks so natural! Don’t get aggressive on the hairline, you’ll regret it. Go with the most natural look. It’s a win.
I'm still so undecided about this procedure. I like the videos. My concern is about it changing color after 3 years or looking outrightly like a painted black surface....how's yours holding?
the last ones in the video are for sure the best looking imo. 18:56, 19:38, especially 20:33. 16:03 is good too for sure. they're all good though as long as the person has more confidence post pigment :)
Thank you so much for making this video . Not many SMP artists want to share there hair line mapping. This just shows how you care how others do there best work on clients. You are A successful man who is not afraid of sharing his knowledge. Thank you 🙏
I have seen this done to a few men ,and you can see the difference. Looks great 👍. Good for men to gave this as well,so much fashion so forth for women, why not men. Looks great 👍
Mid 50s I looking for the round receding look, booked in for a consultation with our local artist tomorrow. Actually looking forward to this I've always been resigned to being thin on top but now actually buzzing to crack on. cheers awesome video and work.
@@anders8700 hey mate went well, love it, I've only had two sessions she recommends three so I will go for third. I want her break the hairline a wee bit as right now its too round even so I'll get her to give it the broken hairline look. Other than that pretty chuffed to bits cheers mate
Thank you for the in-depth look at common hairlines and how you define edges, angles, etc. I’m looking into this procedure and this helped calm some nerves about looking realistic, am even in my mid-50s. I live in Hawaii and would need to travel to LA for this, so the more research I can do beforehand the better. This was very informative and helpful. Thank you again.
I’ve had 2 SMP Sessions and having my 3rd today and the transformation from being completely bald to restoring the illusion of my natural hairline has been nothing short of amazing! I initially went with the straight hairline but felt that although it mimicked my natural hairline, it aged me in the process because it was so “flat”. I then ask to have it modified during the second session to create a curvier and more natural appearance and follow the horseshoe pattern of my receding area, and it honestly enhanced the look so much so that even my SMP Artist complimented his work. I personally think that it looks better this way going this route as the baby hairs of your existing hairline improve the naturalness of the look. Although not the most flattering once the hair begins growing back, the look is easy to maintain and only requires clipper-ing or shaving once every few days. I think I still may go the transplant route in the future but at least this buys me some time to save up for it. Overall not a bad decision in my opinion although I may tweak the hairline in the future to further enhance my attractiveness. Feeling confident again feels good would definitely recommend the procedure to anyone battling hair loss 👍🏽

Scalp Micro USA: Hi Matt. I would say it's an art work with too many responsibilities. Great information video on SMP. The sideline profile part is my favorite. I'd like to know are those SMP works go with the same needle gauge or a needle gauge is changed depending on the treatment area, so as dilution ratio of the ink? Cheers.
@@pmh4945, Hello, my first session was what he called the base, so although the outline/hairline looked good, it wasn't dense looking. It had to heal for 14 days afterward. I had my second session done last week, and it's looking very good. This final session is to darken it more, but it already looks very good. I don't wear hats anymore, and I feel like people look at me like I'm super attractive, not that I wasn't before, but without my hat before, I didn't feel attractive. It is a challenge to sit practically in one position for four hours, and certain spots do hurt a bit, but once you are done, you are done. I'm completely happy that I made this choice. I suggest that anyone who wants to not look bald, but to have what looks to be an intentional looking buzz cut with hair to do it.

Do you have a video on depth ? Like I notice some are very thin looking others look a little thicker ... I take it some people want more dots but how does that work ?

Hey Matt. Great video! I had my SMP performed by Caitlin James whom I know you know. She and her team perform amazing work and she is just such a lovely person. I live in Melbourne, Australia and i just wanted to say hi and that I love your work. Thanks for sharing!
Hello, I have been watching your videos for some time. I really would feel most comfortable to have your services, im totally bald, just hair on the sides. I live in Edmonton Canada, may I ask how much this operation would cost? And what I should do to arrange it? Thank you.
I've always had a natural widows peak as a black man but I never see anybody with my natural hairline getting smp. What would you recommend someone like myself? I know smp generally looks great on black men but I've never had a straight or rounded hairline like others.
What is the solution to change its color to green, the color of the tattoo, with the passage of two weeks of work, its color changes? What is the solution to the problem?
Up to get this done some day but I’m wondering if is it possible to get the straight hairline with not profile edges?, I mean by that , like a fade without the corners, i want the top of my head to look darker than my sides but i don’t want the edges, pretty much what i want is my front straight hairline done all the way to the back of my head creating a jarhead haircut style. Is it possible ?
Hi I have SMP done and I haven't been using shampoo to wash my scalp (just warm water) even after applying sunscreen on my scalp for 3 weeks. I noticed this is a wrong decision because I had definitely be getting a lot of dead skin cells... Do you think I faded a little bit by not washing my scalp properly?
Lanacane works well for head shine. Not what it’s sold for…but it works. Paula’s Choice sells a good anti-shine lotion too. Peter Thomas Roth had the best anti-shine product…I believe they stopped making it. There are some powders that work also. For special occasions I even top everything off with a tiny dash of hair illusion real hair fibers. It gives the smp subtle definition. Of course it’s temporary…and that sucks. Didn’t get smp to be maintaining it so much. But I really hate the shine.
Hey TY Matt! I am really thinking about going down to Magic Ink in Winnetka, IL and having Magic Ink "Mike" do my SMP ( sadly I live in WI and I'm to far from your office ) Ty very much for this video, great stuff! ( I sorta went over it and sent Magic Ink via email a lot of the stuff I liked in this video ) Ty again sir for what you do!
Hi Matt, I am from the Netherlands i want some information about te flux s. How much must be the needle come out of the pen Thanks al lot Selo from the Netherlands
It’s as safe as dying a full head(& that safety is debatable) but the chemicals probably degrade(fade) the ink a bit more quickly. Plus, your own hair needs to be so short -to match smp-that it may not be worth dying. You would be shaving the dyed part off every few days. Very tedious and hardly worth the effort and time. On the plus side, with smp…you will never look like you’ve gone completely grey. I mean…no practitioner uses white ink to replicate white hair. That would just look odd.
The best hairline is ones that nobody can tell you done the procedure, natural look doesnt look like someone draw on your head
