I get the feeling Seth McFarlane just simply had a joke in mind about gay guys and sirens but couldn't actually think of a suitable punchline to actually string them together so he just went with this, the closest ctharsis he could find lol
Family Guy brought me here too, but not the joke made me curious: I saw a comment under the Hungarian version of that part like "My father is french and he also died of laughter because their sirenes are really like this"
