So what is the point of putting the stone back on the ground?

The root crop is planted in the area where the stones have been taken away from, leaving a clean bed of soil for the best possible growing conditions, without the crop being hindered with stones while they are trying to grow; causing mis-formed, mis-shaped and damaged produce when harvest time comes.
Furthermore, this machine is mainly used for separating ground before potatoes are planted and potato ground has a growing cycle of normally between 5-7 years, we put the stones back in the ground to help with soil aeration and drainage, and in the 5-7 year period where potatoes are not being planted, the cultivation of the ground spreads the stones around evenly back into the ground.

if the lad is only good for 5-7 years then why put the rocks but then should put in recycling stuff like veggies from restaurants , hotels, stores that have gone rotten of people who did not eat them to give the soil back its nutrients . then you can reuse this land and will not have to remove the rocks again. i am sure you can use the rock for other things.

it's not the case that the land is not usable or ruined, the 5 year cycle is to prevent the build up of diseases that affect the growing of the potatoes. The stones also help with water permeation that is important to keep the land fertile and able to grow crops. But I do agree with your comment on compostable waist being used as manure.
