Never knew this move had any name to it. I used to do this move daily and learned by watching others without asking any questions about it.
This video is great since she is naming the parts of the body and what they do.

I just discovered your instagram and now I see you here on RUclips. Thanks for the tutorial! I just noticed, that I probably have really strong quads, at least by the silhouette of my thighs from the side (which looks like this ( I ....) So I think, I tend to overuse my quads. Since english is not my mother tongue, it's a little hard to follow, especially because I still have a great translation for "gripping in" in German, which would probably help me a lot to understand the mechanics. But I will try the exercises you explained and hope to get a stronger core. I never had good posture or a great core, so starting Ballet at 22 y/o is a challenge.

You probably do, a lot of dancers accidentally end of kicking in their quads and don't know how to activate their psoas and core when they're performing extensions. However, this synergistic activation of the other muscles and activating the quads last is best for the dancer's health and technique.

Hi, can you help -10 y o no problem with splits and leg in Y in air, doing 6 h /wk of ballet never injured, now has a problem. The situation at the school was complexe the old teacher left and the new situation was less than ideal. A female teacher suddenly decided to insult as stupid, inept and treated like a baby infront of class. We decided to quit her, but in doing so we lost half the lessons directly because only the male teacher left. Then we had to look to complete the lessons to compensate. Everything seemed ok. Until last month and then nightmare - the new teacher suddenly forced the kids to list their legs up in front of them and then behind with knee in weird angle. Pain, then more later after the rest of the lesson. limped out of class. Turns out the teacher decided to only do about 3 exercises at the bar and straight into this, maybe because feeling the stress for end of year show? Anyway, later it would seem ok until asked to do the same or a top drawer reverence 😔 ( also fell and broke arm a day or 2 after balance issues) a few weeks of physio twice a week and a total exclusion from sports for a month and still not bk to normal… although the arm is fixed !
A dr sent her for an echo to rule out tendinitis, but then ppl say kids don’t have tendons, the echo guy reckons he saw nothing muscular. Physio is sometimes ok and sometimes painful, low squats are bad. Internal and external hip rotation limited by pain when examined on back. The frog is no problem, this kid can lay legs flat on ground with butterfly too. A sports osteo said her pelvis was blocked and felt much better after he unblocked her, it seems to still be hanging on. Physios moan that she been too long no sport only she was signed off and hard to swim or bike with a cast 🤦‍♀️
Competitions, end of year shows and pro school auditions all in jeopardy 🙏
