I think they’re on their 5th actually (including debut ring) and they change their rings every time they release a full album😊 (they’ve only had to change 4x so far) they havent changed it this yr yet bc they havent released a full album but yeah, the rings are like engraved to their pinkys😭 Ohhh carats went livid btw when pledis decided to sell their rings so carats put up a huge fight and basically fought their company to not sell their rings bc it’s soo precious to svt! The rings are so precious not only to seventeen but also to us carats as well. There was one time when Pledis (their company) decided to release a replica of their rings as a part of their merchandise but carats were quick to oppose the idea causing it to never happen. We emphasized the meaning of the rings to seventeen and that we wanted it to be something that only them can have.

As for the rings, yes they never take it off! On their 3rd anniversary, they held an exhibition which contains memories of the 3 years they have been together. They were on their 3rd set of rings then and the other 2 set were displayed then. If you look at pictures of them they were all scratched and dented. And I think that it really showed their hard work. All 13 of them are precious in their own way and I think that's what make me love them.
its just that seventeen are just one of those groups that if you decide to put them as your forever group, you just can't help but fall in love with the as people. Not in a romantic way, but in a way that you just really appreciate who they are as people and what they stand for. Seventeen have been through a lot and no matter what, they come out on top. They aren't called one of the 3 biggest kpop groups for the 3rd gen (alongside BTS & EXO as they are called the top 3 or EBS). Also a reason that i really appreciated was their team rings, they're so meaningful. And as I just became a new carat during quarantine, I already was just their listener since 2015 when they debuted, so i already knew some things, but not all the real meaningful parts. So i love how they still have their rings. It was one of the only gifts pledis gave them and they loved the rings as it really showed how they value their relationship as members. they are still co-workers but they are also just a big group of best friends who became their 2nd home. I notice how people think that big groups aren't that close, but seventeen prove again and again that they really do all care for each other. Like S. Coups said, "We have a bond that no one else can understand. Even when we're apart, when we come together, that feeling can't be replaced." They just have this charm that just makes you want to keep supporting them. Every single one of them. They're just all so precious and they're all great role models.
No, they NEVER take their rings off. Those are so meaningful to them. They had to took thos rings off before debut. And when they made it, their parents are the on who put the rings back on ther pinkies.

If you ever watch 17 project, which shows their journey right before their debut, you’ll see that their rings were taken away from them b/c their CEO didn’t think they’re ready b/c they failed to perform properly during an assignment and throughout those 10 ep, we watch them trying to get it back via completing missions, getting evaluated, creating music, in order to get it back. These rings doesn’t just represent their debut but also their journey post that. Like many had mentioned, they receive a new one every time they release a new album and there’s only 13 of each ring in existence. To them, it’s a mark of who they are, of being in SVT, and a reminder to them the purpose of their journey and music. We don’t really see them take it off, even when they model for magazines individually or as a group. Another thing I do want to mention is that their 3 units are very important to SVT. Unlike groups who have subunits that promote separately, SVT’s 3 subunits had never, so far, promoted by themselves. Although the units have songs that they release with only members in those units, they (SVT) had only promoted OT13 songs, from what I recall. (Ex: for their 3rd Album An Ode, Fear and Snap shoot were promoted together on music shows although Second Life (VU), Back it Up (HU), and 247 (PU) are subunits songs in that album.) Which makes the definition of SVT: 13 members + 3 units + 1 team so meaningful and important to their identity.

i have watch kpop for more than 20 years, seventeen is my favourite favourite group. they are REALLY self-produced. they write their own songs, lyrics, dance. not only that. You know it's really the first time (as i already mentioned i watch k-entertainment for more than 20 years) I see an idol got a show themselve/him/her self! Seungkwan got them on the manager show, also Seungkwan got them to one 'eating-broadcast' show, k-carats got them on one ep of idol room, and also the '300x2' show. To me, they are the first group make me feel 'idol' is a profession. To me, being an idol is not just singing and dancing. Of course we all know the agency trained them not only sing, dance, also train them how to talk to public, how to act on variety shows, so to me seventeen are even more than those. Seventeen brotherhood is one of the best things in this world.

They don't take off their rings. :)) Even recently during DK's musical "Xcalibur" (he played King Arthur), he won't take off his ring but rather tape it. :)) even during photoshoots for mags or solo activities, it's always there. ^^
Awww you cut the part where Woozi was crying and talking about his troubles during predebut in 17 Project. They wear the ring all the time actually. During concerts/performances, you'll see them do a cheer that is kinda more unique to them where they connect their right hands (the hand which they wear the rings on their pinky) in a circle by grabbing each others' thumbs. They have had new rings i think 2 or 3 of them already, but they still keep the rings of course.
also you can see them do their 3rd ring ceremony on youtube on their channel. of course you'll need to go to 17 subs on yt to find the subs, but its really meaningful. they didn't film their other ceremonies, but it was nice that they showed how they usually do it.

The Differential yea its a shame.. I've been a CARAT for about 2 months and no lie, Seventeen is I believe the second best selling kpop group this year after BTS, but no one is talking about them. The hip hop team are my favourite svt unit. They’ve got such powerful stage presence ( i mean don’t get me wrong all units do), and there’s just something about them that i love over the others. I would suggest watching HTR after you’ve seen a good portion of their content. I think its impact would be a bit stronger that way. I remember watching it as a new carat not knowing anything and being touched, but rewatching it after all the content I consumed really hit hard.

It would help you get to know them individually and as a group, as artists, and as normal citizens. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and react to this very long video. 😊 And as many mentioned before, the rings are very important to SVT. If you ever watch 17 project, which shows their journey right before their debut, you’ll see that their rings were taken away from them b/c their CEO didn’t think they’re ready b/c they failed to perform properly during an assignment and throughout those 10 ep, we watch them trying to get it back via completing missions, getting evaluated, creating music, in order to get it back. These rings doesn’t just represent their debut but also their journey post that. Like many had mentioned, they receive a new one every time they release a new album and there’s only 13 of each ring in existence. To them, it’s a mark of who they are, of being in SVT, and a reminder to them the purpose of their journey and music. We don’t really see them take it off, even when they model for magazines individually or as a group.
Another thing I do want to mention is that their 3 units are very important to SVT. Unlike groups who have subunits that promote separately, SVT’s 3 subunits had never, so far, promoted by themselves. Although the units have songs that they release with only members in those units, they (SVT) had only promoted OT13 songs, from what I recall. (Ex: for their 3rd Album An Ode, Fear and Snap shoot were promoted together on music shows although Second Life (VU), Back it Up (HU), and 247 (PU) are subunits songs in that album.) Which makes the definition of SVT: 13 members + 3 units + 1 team so meaningful and important to their identity.

i have watch kpop for more than 20 years, seventeen is my favourite favourite group.
they are REALLY self-produced. they write their own songs, lyrics, dance. not only that. You know it's really the first time (as i already mentioned i watch k-entertainment for more than 20 years) I see an idol got a show themselve/him/her self! Seungkwan got them on the manager show, also Seungkwan got them to one 'eating-broadcast' show, k-carats got them on one ep of idol room, and also the '300x2' show.
To me, they are the first group make me feel 'idol' is a profession. To me, being an idol is not just singing and dancing. Of course we all know the agency trained them not only sing, dance, also train them how to talk to public, how to act on variety shows, so to me seventeen are even more than those.
Seventeen brotherhood is one of the best things in this world.

For S.Coups, as the video said, it's pronounced like S. Coops. The P is still there. The S at the front comes from Seungcheol (his real name is Choi Seungcheol), while the Coups part does come from coup d'etat.
Oooh, they have a couple of unit songs since they each have one in most of their albums, and they're all great. Which ones you like most just depends on your taste of music. Hip Hop Unit has a few more songs than the other units because they have some mixtapes outside of their songs in the albums. Awww you cut the part where Woozi was crying and talking about his troubles during predebut in 17 Project. They wear the ring all the time actually. During concerts/performances, you'll see them do a cheer that is kinda more unique to them where they connect their right hands (the hand which they wear the rings on their pinky) in a circle by grabbing each others' thumbs. They have had new rings i think 2 or 3 of them already, but they still keep the rings of course.

also you can see them do their 3rd ring ceremony on youtube on their channel. of course you'll need to go to 17 subs on yt to find the subs, but its really meaningful. they didn't film their other ceremonies, but it was nice that they showed how they usually do it.

Kudos to you for finishing the whole thing haha. Seventeen is a great group but unfortunately the fandom isnt the most ‘vocal’ i'd say? so Seventeen gets sweeped under the rug a lot. We also dont really have very good guides so while this one is one of the only good ones, its veerryy long lol

mingyu is not ming-yu, in hangul his name is spelled min then gyu, so naturally the pronunciation would be /MEEN-GYOO/ but its /MEENG-GYOO/ is also acceptable, there's no 'yu' in his name, so emphasize GUH in GYOO hence /MEEN/MEENG-GYOOH/
for vernon, i think ver-nin is right but it's a bit exaggerated, i know that's how native english speakers would pronounce it, but personally i think /VEHR-NOHN/ is also fine

The hip hop team are my favourite svt unit. They’ve got such powerful stage presence ( i mean don’t get me wrong all units do), and there’s just something about them that i love over the others. It would help you get to know them individually and as a group, as artists, and as normal citizens. They have a lot to offer aside from their music and I'm sure you won't regret spending your spare time watching #GoSe.
