This was a great subject to find out about. This game is something I knew nothing of at all before making these videos but it is a fantastic thing. I really enjoyed the history and tradition of the match, as well as the respect it shows for the people who put there lives on the line for America. Tell me what you think about this match? Have you ever been to one?
My dad was Captain of Army '71. He passed away a year ago this Sunday. Just saw your entrances reaction and searched for a reaction to Army Navy. Glad you popped up first. Wonderful job. Had me in tears more than once. Great stuff brother. Hey book a flight I got a ticket to this years game with your name on it! 10 Dec.
There are a lot more traditions with this not shown: Custom uniforms for this game specifically then not used again, usually historically based. The students (not just players) of both teams will march on the field pregame. There is a Prisoner Exchange, students who spend a semester at the opposite school meet at midfield and are ‘exchanged’ to then join their school. Player entrance was the best I had ever seen, flyovers are fairly common in professional sports but having jets flying over with navy entering the field and the helicopters going the other direction with army was impressive. The president, or other high ranking military official, will watch one half on the navy side then be escorted through the field to the army side. Videos shown of different units deployed around the world rooting for their academy. Honoring the Fallen, both teams sing their alma mater after the game, losing team first, but the players stand together for it.

Hope you do more college football reactions! Here in the States, it's Thanksgiving week which means Rivalry Week in college football. The biggest this year (and many years) #2 Ohio State vs #3 Michigan. The biggest rivalry in college football, and perhaps all of American sports, has insanely high stakes this year! But there are so many other great rivalry games this week: Notre Dame vs USC (University of Southern California), Alabama vs Auburn, Oregon vs Oregon State (called the "Civil War"), Minnesota vs Wisconsin (play for a trophy which is a giant axe called "Paul Bunyan's Axe), Florida vs Florida State, South Carolina vs Clemson, Michigan State vs Penn State, Kansas vs Kansas State, Washington vs Washington State (called the Apple Cup) and so many more. It would be great if you found a video on rivalries to react to. I know HBO has a great 20 minute mini-documentary on the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry. That could be a good one to react to.
There is so much that goes into the games that those videos don’t show. This is such an unusual rivalry because both schools are so similar. Each side makes new uniforms that they unveil every year before the game, the entire student body from both schools is in attendance and they do something called the “March on” before the game where both schools parade in front of the rest of the fans in attendance. There are fly overs with military aircraft, aerial demonstrations with people parachuting in and then the game actually starts. The President is usually in attendance for the game and does a ceremony where he crosses the field at halftime to sit in the stands with both teams. At the end both teams stand together and each side sings there Alma Mater.
Former midshipman Roger Staubach ( Captain America)after serving in Vietnam played QB for the Dallas cowboys where he led them to 2 super bowl wins. He's the most popular Dallas cowboy in their history
So just you know, this weekend is Rivalry Week in college football. A lot of really awesome rivalries will be played such as the Iron Bowl (Alabama/Auburn), “The Game” (Ohio State/Michigan), and other games between teams that straight up hate each other will play. I know it might be a little hard with you being in a different time zone, but you should check out some of those matchups this weekend. Nothing like college football rivalries! Note: the Army/Navy game will not be played this weekend. That will be 2 weeks from this Saturday
You noticed the combination of military and football. It goes deeper. Even into the terminology. Linemen "battle in the trenches". Running backs "cutting and slashing through the defense". Quarterback "throwing the long bomb". Defense "attacking with the blitz". Linemen having to "hold the line". So many more.
Also as someone who's played many roles on the field Lineman are definitely the grunts. We were often told (not literally of course) "kill the guy on the other team", or "run through them". I always thought it was just to sound cool but putting it in perspective with the military lines, it makes sense now.
@@unknowngaming1432 quite literally in my case. other team started playing dirty and we had a new, very old “traditional” coach. he told us to stomp on limbs and backs of necks
The Army's academy is in West Point, New York and the Naval Acadamy is in Annapolis,Maryland. The game is played between them in Philadelphia each year. There is also an Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado and a Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut. The Coast Guard Acadmey doesn't have a football team.
Unlike most college players, military school players have a requirement to serve in the military after their graduation. There have been players who have gone on to play professional football, but only after they have competed their military requirement.
I went to the Naval Academy in the mid 1980s. Lots of good Army Navy memories of course, but here's my favorite. The navy student body is organized into 36 companies. Not sure about nowadays but back then, my 13th company had a tradition of running an overnight relay with a football through the streets and rural roads of Maryland and Pennsylvania to deliver the ball to the stadium for game time. So it was my roommate and me running along some country road in the middle of the night, drinking beer and eating pizza while running, til we met up with a gaggle of our buddies at the next relay point, and handed off the ball to the next guys. One guy blasted "Walk Like and Egyptian" from his car and the bunch of us were dancing to it on this lonely stretch of road at 2 AM. Folks in Oxford, Penn offered to host us in a school gym that night -- and some of the guys got food poisoning from the potato salad they served up lol. Fun times.
I was in 13 from 1986-1989 and have some great memories from running the football to Philly too. I think we were based out a volunteer firehouse in PA in 1988. Community was great providing potluck meals, but no food poisoning that year!
Hi Big Tex, my son is currently attending. Class of 2025, 27th company. Now there are only 30 companies, and YES, the 13th company still does that ball run...You know, this years game was the last in Philly for awhile, I wonder where it will be played 23-26? Anyway, my son is absolutely thriving and looking forward to serving his country after graduation. Thank you for your service and Happy Holidays!
Thank you Mert. This video is going to win you the appreciation and respect of a lot of Americans. This video gets to the core of American values and what we believe America stands for. Right now a lot of American would do well to listen to your thoughtful and sensible words and remember the sacrifice so many have made. We should never let internal rivalries splinter or union. We would regret that forever. ♥ It was providence that someone informed, but emotionally detached from our toxic politics would see things more clearly. Thank you for this reminder. ♠
I played Football for the Air Force Academy back in the 80s. I was recruited by several other Universities and had a handful of Scholarship offers, but I chose to play for USAFA instead. AF won the Commander in Chief trophy this year, and are currently 8-3, and lead the country in Rushing Yards
I remember reading a interview with Chad Hennings who played defensive end for Air Force and then at 6'6" flew the A-10 in Bosnia and after serving his country he went on to win 3 super bowls with the Dallas cowboys
@Just Me Chad and I were in the same class, we even took Calculus together Freshman year he played tightend, I played LB. He was the only person to ever pancake me during a drill He also broke the AF squat record that Freshman year.
@Mert Salih I was 6'2" 220lbs and could run a 4.5 40 yard dash. Those were pretty good stats for the 80s, but Linebackers nowadays are 6'4" 240ish and can run 4.4s
This has made me think about how different college sports are from ALL professional sports, American sports included. To quote the Southeastern Conference’s motto, “It just means more”
I think my favorite quote about the Army Navy game is: “The Army-Navy Game is the only game where everyone playing is willing to die for everyone watching.”
And recall, these are the officer candidates, the students studying to be military officers. This is part of the *college* football scene. I personally like watching college ball, many of the best games I've ever seen have been bowl games. They give it all they've got, because not many of them plan to turn pro, so the four years (or less) that they play college ball are their ticket to the big show. And of course the Army/Navy schools don't usually send anybody up to the NFL, but the formative experience serves them in other ways as military officers. There are a ton of bowl games, btw, which match up comparable regional teams for the college equivalent of playoff games. The best teams play bowl games starting in mid December and finish the playoffs in early January. New Year's Day bowl games are highly watched and deep into the playoffs, so they're usually really good matchups. All the in-state matchup rivalries start this coming Thanksgiving weekend, I believe. (College games are usually Saturday, NFL is Sunday, but also a few Monday and Thursday). This year's Army/Navy game is Dec 10th. (As I understand it, this year's Navy uniform honors NASA.)
It’s worth finding a video of The Brigade and the Corps marching into the stadium for this game. And then watch a video for what happens when the game is over. Go NAVY! Beat Army!
This game has been a huge event for most of its 100+ years, unlike many rivalries in College football. Traditionally (until the past 30 years or so) the game was always played at the Memorial Stadium in Philadelphia because 1) It was roughly equidistant between West Point, NY and Annapolis, MD, and so an impartial ground, 2) It was the biggest stadium in the Megalopolis, [until the modern era] and so it could handle the immense crowds, and 3) It was located right next to a huge railroad yard that would be filled to capacity with special trains for the event. Yes, before all the interstates were built, almost everyone attended by train. 40+ special trains would be run from throughout the Megalopolis to get people to the game, and they would all wait in the yard right outside the stadium until the game's completion and then ferry everyone home again. With the coming of the Interstates, this slowly changed over time, and eventually Memorial Stadium was demolished to make way for the new home of the Philadelphia Eagles, Lincoln Financial Field. Nowadays the game rotates sites throughout the Northeast, but it's still the biggest game on either school's calendar.
Same here! I am seeing some interesting "takes" that other channels just don't have. He has an infectious enthusiasm, but he also makes some great points!
Many colleges have live animals as mascots and they bring them to the games. Univ. Colorado has a huge buffalo that parades around the field before games. Ralphie the buffalo can be seen at the games in Boulder Co.
Thank you Mert. It is a huge game every year. Not for the standing's, but the integrity, heroism, and honor each player has to win on and off the field. Army Navy is epic.
Just binged your channel and as a lifetime college football fan it’s so refreshing and cool to see your take on the traditions and just how the game as a whole is played. Love the content man, keep it up!
Future reaction to Ohio St vs Michigan rivalry commonly referred to as THE GAME. One of the biggest rivalry’s in all of sports takes place this Saturday 11/26/22. #2 ranked Ohio St vs #3 ranked Michigan meet with a trip to the College Football Playoffs on the line.
When this game is played, by tradition, no other football game will be played to focus the nation’s attention to honor those young men and women who will one day be asked to make the ultimate sacrifice. This game is beamed to every base in the world.
Glad you looked into this particularly special rivalry between Annapolis and West Point, they play for the 123rd time on December 10 in Philadelphia - I hope you get a chance to watch it
There's so much about College football and American culture that we're proud of regardless of how the rest of the world sees us. Thanks for investing time to understand what brings us together. I've met so many people going to college football games that I've never seen again but that I'll always remember. Truly is special.
The game where everybody on the field is willing to die for every other player on the field--including the other team. If you can only attend one sporting event in the US, this is it. I'm a Dawgs fan, but definitely the coolest sporting event I've ever been to. It's interesting that this game is one of the few games we play on the same day we award the Heisman trophy, our award for the best college football player of the season. Go to Army Navy once, and you'll never REALLY care about the Heisman again.
@@willn703 You are right of course. Just an old Army habit, forgetting the Air Force 😉. You know, until we need them to come bail us out of some trouble. Edited original comment.
Growing up right by the Naval Academy, I've been to two Army vs Navy games and can say without a doubt, it has the most pageantry of any event I've witnessed. Watching both brigades of the Cadets and Midshipmen march onto the field, followed by the double flyover. the pregame to the Army Navy game is definitely something you could react to since the game will be played on December 10th. A side note, the game has been going on throughout war time for 2 reasons: 1. going to one of these military academies is extremely prestigious and you graduate an officer to your respective branch of service, and 2. in war time attending these schools guaranteed that you wouldn't be drafted. During WW1, WW2, Korea, and Vietnam the best athletes in America were all vying to get into these schools. That's why you see basically all their athletic success occurring during or just after war time.
This game is such a huge deal that it's the only game that day. Everyone else is done on December 3rd this year, Army-Navy is a week later on the 10th.
Occasionally this game is played in a host city whereby the residents host both teams and and both student bodies in their own homes, a tradition we need to bring back.
The next four years are being played outside Philly and it was in NJ just outside NYC a couple years ago. Boston, Washington, Baltimore and New York in 2023-2026.
I went to Navy, I've been to my share of Army-Navy games and I've played rugby against Army. It was our biggest game. Ask any of those players whether they'd rather with a Bowl Game or the Army-Navy game and everyone of them will say they'd rather win the Army-Navy Game. I'm working at the Pentagon now, and even at the Pentagon during the week before Army-Navy the rivalry still comes out! GO NAVY! BEAT ARMY!
They are cadets and Midshipman, so the equivalent of college students. In fact, they play a lot of college teams. They would also play through wartime, because they are not officers...yet. Alot of people don't understand that while it is important for the for the Army and Navy and vets of either service (though not sure if this has changed recently but the Marine Corps usually go to Annapolis) it isn't important like a U of M team playing. At the end, both the cadets and Midshipman will don uniforms of their respective branches and serve their country. Neither the Navy or the Army have their own fields, instead they are always the "away" team, even if they are not. Huh...kinda like war.
I’ve been to Army Navy twice, it’s so much fun. The entrances the teams make onto the field are amazing. First, each schools parachute units do a show before, landing in the stadium with the game hall and the coin. Then Army comes on, led by their mascot the mules, but also with Blackhawk helicopters coming over like Apocolapse Now. Navy gets led on by Bill the Goat, and the Blue Angels roaring by overhead. The Secretary of Defense is there and watches the game from both sidelines, there’s a handover ceremony at halftime. Before the game starts there is also the prisoner exchange, students who were doing a semester at the other academy get returned to their own school and race down the field to join their fellow cadets and midshipmen. The students get super into it, making videos to get people hyped. They also used to try and steal the other academy’s mascot. It’s also a chance to see Generals and Admirals get into it, doing their best to prank the other side and hype up their own. Such an amazing game
If you want to learn some 101 strategies react to "Football 101 Counter" by weekly spiral. (A run play) Or to "How to Read Defense/A Guide to The Basics of Football Coverages" by Xs and Noles.(pass defenses used to trick the QB)
One of the things that sets this game apart is the requirements these young men are required to meet just to get into school, these are an amazing group of young men.
Just started watching, love your channel. You seem to enjoy the running backs. You have got to see Barry Sanders highlight reel. He was amazing. Blinding speed and the best footwork on earth. He was the best I've ever seen, and I'm an old dude who's been watching since the 70s.
All the players on the field will be required to serve 5 years in the Army or Navy after they graduate. It isn't the best football in the country there is a lot of tradition and dedication.
@@cindyfox622 They can defer their service but they must still serve. That was per DoDI 1322.22 but that DTM just expired 11/8. Not sure what the new rule is now.
My father went to the Naval Academy so I've been invested in this rivalry all my life and my family always gets together to watch this game together every year no matter what, and I can confidently say those games have been some of the most special sporting matches I have ever seen. The rivalry game is one of the most valued traditions in american football, and 10 presidents have attended games! Also another fun fact is that it is always the last game played of the regular college football season (pre playoffs and bowls)
You are right - America is all about winning. One of the worst things you can call someone here is "a loser". That is why we despise ties or draws. 1 to 1 vs Wales is pathetic.
Your respect to our troops and our people is admirable my friend. I think you get the gist of what we fight for...that puts a smile on my face.🤙 -Army vet
I'm really enjoying this journey you're taking to understand our culture, traditions, and values. Not a lot of people are willing to do that and automatically make assumptions about us and how we should be as a country. We're not perfect, but the things we hold dear must be perfectly kept in order to survive as a nation united. Thank you Mert for taking the time to understand us and documenting it.
Hi, I'm an West Point cadet. Just found your channel, love the reactions. You should watch the game we just had. Best game of bad football I've ever seen, and an incredible ending. Keep it up!
My younger brother was an Army graduate (USMA 1995). I went to the Army/Navy game in 1994, which was the fall of his final year at West Point. My brother was in the marathon club, they ran one of the game balls to the stadium in a relay. The marathon club for Navy did the same thing. The game was an amazing experience to watch live.
Great video! As some other people have mentioned it's rivalry week in CFB this week! You should check out the Michigan - Ohio State rivalry, which is often called 'The Game' because of how big it has historically been. This year is the first time since 2006 that both teams are going into it undefeated with a #2 v #3 matchup!
you should react to the Ohio State vs michigan rivalry game from Saturday. It was two of the best teams in the country, both undefeated going into the game and it’s the most violent rivalry between the best teams. Super exciting plays and fights
It’s the only game I never miss. I’ll miss Clemson or Montana State (my teams) games if something important comes up or I have plans but I make absolutely sure I never miss the Army-Navy Game. With family that has served in both branches, this just hits different.
I would watch the army navy commercials for the games over the last few years. I remember when I joined my father watched the commercial and cried. Very moving
Same here. Members of my family have served and I'm so thankful for their service. Do you tend to choose one of them to cheer for or just watch in general? I'm for Navy!
This is the football game i look forward to every year. The uniforms that they have worn over the last 10 years have never disappointed in their beauty and historical relivance. You should do a video on them or just a video of a tour of each campus.
I graduated from the Coast Guard Academy but spent a semester at the Naval Academy in 2016. There is so much more to this than any video can show and is truly a one team effort.
I had the chance to go to the army navy game last year. it was in my backyard and it was packed around 85000 people packed metlife stadium it was great. The tailhaye was so mucn fun
The Army-Navy game will be played on 10 December, at 20:00 your time. I miss my guess if there isn't a streaming service available to you on which it will be carried. It is a unique event in American football, and American sport. But, I'm hard pressed to think of a better introduction to the Great American Passion (🏈). I recommend you look into watching it.
At the end of this game, the players, ALL of them, go to one end of the stadium to listen to their respective song played by their bands - THEN, walk to the other end of the field to listen to the other's song. (Usually, the losing team first, then the winning team) It's really cool to watch. :)
I spy with my little eyes Ibrox merch. Hello fellow Bluenose. There are the 3 major military academies: Air Force, Army, and Navy. There are also a few other universities with significant links to the military. Texas A&M, Virginia Military Institute, The Citadel, and a few others. Football and patriotism go together like fish and chips. I put this on another one of your videos, but you should check out Texas A&M’s marching band. Their “greatest half time show ever” is pretty popular with reactors, and for a good reason.
Hey mate!! I didn't expect to speak to a fellow Rangers fan in the comments but very happy you are here man. Do you live in the states? Nice, thanks for the information, it is very interesting. I am really enjoying finding about the US and American Football, there is so much to it. Love the American patriotism. Will defo check out the video you suggested. Thanks!!
@@mertsalih I’m from Alabama. Been supporting Rangers since right about the time things went… eh… tits up, shall we say? Went to watch the old firm at a pub in Atlanta and there was this stereotypical Irish American Celtic fan and I decided to support Rangers to balance things out a bit. It’s been a ride but I’ve enjoyed it overall.
So I've served in the United States Navy for 8 years and was recently Honorably Discharged. I can tell you this rivalry is rooted within so many levels outside just football. There's so much to it and while I am an Alabama fan first, I always root for Navy. I'm genuinely excited every year to witness this game as it symbolizes our culture, heritage, and bond with each other. Forever competing with each other to be the best to serve and protect the Nation, Constitution, and Freedoms we love so dearly. Go Navy! Beat Army!
Hi Mert, I've really been enjoying your assessments of American football. Anyway, my son is currently attending The United States Naval Academy, and was at this years game and last years (all the students must attend). I also just viewed your video about The Star Spangled Banner-a lot of us forget the origins of that song. Anyway, if you ever have any questions about us weirdos over the pond, feel free to ask. Happy Holidays!
You should do a reaction to best American MLB traditions. The Braves' Tomohawk Chop and "Beat the Freeze" is pretty good as well as the Cardinals "Bring out the Clydesdales". The brewers have a giant slide in their stadium they use for their tradition too.
NAVY FOREVER! Bless them all in every branch. But yeah, as a Navy family member, GO NAVY! My all-time favorite football player ever, who later played for my favorite football team in the NFL, was former midshipman and record holder for many years, Mr. Napoleon McCallum. My stepdad served with him in the Navy before he came back to the Raiders, and in order to stay in shape for the NFL while he was deployed, my stepdad says he would strap a parachute to his back and run against the wind up the deck of their ship, the amphibious assault ship Peleliu, multiple times a day. Just think about that. This on top of his regular day job on the ship. That just says everything right there. He fulfilled his service and his duty to his country, and also doubled as an NFL player at the same time, after holding a yardage record at Navy for years and years on end (he played in the 80s, and his career rushing record was only recently broken, in 2015).
This is one of my favorite games. One of my brothers served in the Navy, the other served in the Army, so this turns into a ruthless family match. I just happily stir up trouble between them.
My uncles were west point graduates from the class of 1948 and went on to serve in the army for 21 and 22 1/2 years they knew many guys from that class who went to the Korean conflict and vietnam
As an Army Veteran, Army Wife, Army Grand daughter and Army Mom…this game is HUGE in our house. Look forward to it every year! Go Army, Beat Navy!!! 🖤💛
Prior to the game, the Army and Navy drum lines have a 'battle" in the stadium concourse... I think you'll enjoy it. ruclips.net/video/w7sPbEr2quI/видео.html
I think you'd enjoy some of the American Military training videos. Like the Marines boot camp at Parris Island. I think based on your sentiments it would hit a cord with you.
No other sport is more closely related with warfare than football. The attitude, commitment and the physicality are very similar, as are the fundamentals of the game (protecting your flanks or attacking your opponents, strategy & tactics etc) But the mentality is the key. In order to be a good football player you have to play like your life depends on it. You have to sacrifice your time your body and do things that other people just are not willing or even capable of doing. Go Army Go Navy Go Air Force
Every year the Service Academies Army, Naval (which includes the Marines) and the Air Force Academy play for the Commander in Chief's Trophy. The Air Force Academy has won this Trophy more than the other Academies. The U S Air Force became a Separate Military branch in 1947 it was the Army Air Corps prior to 1947
I went to the US Naval Academy. Served my time in the military forces of the US. The Army Navy football games are a tradition like no other. I am blessed to have seen 4 games as a midshipman and 3 after my service. I was lucky enough to be at the game in 1983, when it was held in Pasadena, California. What a game. Navy blew away Army in just the first 5 minutes of the game. If you come to America during the time of Army/Navy game, make sure you get tickets well in advance. Like the earliest you can get. You will not be disappointed.
If you're new to American football, the week of American Thanksgiving is the week for you to really dive in. Thursday there's football all day for the NFL. Friday and Saturday is when college teams play "that team". Every team and their fans has that other team, from that other place that has the nerve to breath the same air as us. Some teams do it earlier in the year, but most of the rivalry games are this week. Army/Navy is special though. It's on it's own day in December after all the other teams are done for the regular season.
This was a great subject to find out about. This game is something I knew nothing of at all before making these videos but it is a fantastic thing. Former midshipman Roger Staubach ( Captain America)after serving in Vietnam played QB for the Dallas cowboys where he led them to 2 super bowl wins. He's the most popular Dallas cowboy in their history
Captain Comeback is definitely the most beloved but I wouldn’t say most popular that’s probably Troy Aikman
@@ariensmith1606 that depends on how old you are, probably. Staubach is still my hero
i wouldn’t say most popular lol mainly because of the era he played in.. but dallas is full of superstars
Then, he made some wise investments, and is now worth hundreds of millions even though neither the military or the NFL paid well back then.
The Army-Navy game is traditionally the last game of the regular season and is the only game that saturday

Thanks for letting me know, that is very interesting
Air Force has been the dominant team of late. They’re tough. I watch them play my Alma mater (Utah State University) this year. Great game.
Coast Guard Academy does have a football team it is division 3 and their mascot is the Bears
There's also the Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY who play down in D3 with the Coast Guard Academy.
and between Army, Navy, and Air Force the one with best record against each other takes the Commander-in-Chiefs trophy
Fun times.
30 companies now and 13th company still does the ball run.

The person speaking in the teaser video is John F Kennedy. He served in WWII in the Navy and loved watching the Army Navy game.
Awesome, thanks for sharing that, it is great to hear!! You must have been an excellent player.
@Just Me Chad and I were in the same class, we even took Calculus together
Freshman year he played tightend, I played LB. He was the only person to ever pancake me during a drill
He also broke the AF squat record that Freshman year.

To quote the Southeastern Conference’s motto, “It just means more”
Yeah and there’s less politics like nfl and nba have gotten ridiculous I’m just watching sports lol
@@dowhatiwantc7637 one hundred percent agree
@@dowhatiwantc7637 Good point; though, there's a ton of politics in the SEC. But at least it's about sports!
I think my favorite quote about the Army Navy game is: “The Army-Navy Game is the only game where everyone playing is willing to die for everyone watching.”
The Army Navy rivalry is older than the forward pass or 4th Down. Forward pass was introduced in 1906, 4th Down in 1912. The NFL started in 1920.
Go NAVY! Beat Army!
GO NAVY!
I’m really enjoying your look into American Football.
Same here! I am seeing some interesting "takes" that other channels just don't have.
He has an infectious enthusiasm, but he also makes some great points!
Thanks Flogg. I am really enjoying it myself. It is a pleasure to find out more about this great sport.
Many colleges have live animals as mascots and they bring them to the games. Univ. Colorado has a huge buffalo that parades around the field before games. Ralphie the buffalo can be seen at the games in Boulder Co.
My guy your reactions are top tier, you’re so thoughtful and clever. Keep it up bro
Thanks, I appreciate the kind words!!
Thank you Mert. It is a huge game every year. Not for the standing's, but the integrity, heroism, and honor each player has to win on and off the field. Army Navy is epic.
Traditionally, this is THE last game in the entire football season.
Last of the regular season, before the bowl games start the "playoffs."
If you want a dramatic reaction, watch the "Crazy final minutes of the army navy 2017". The ending was like a real life movie. Go Army.

Was about to comment to say the same thing. Clemson fan here but cannot wait for THE GAME this year
One of the best rivalries out there, but nothing is better than Army/Navy. That truly is THE Game.
When this game is played, by tradition, no other football game will be played to focus the nation’s attention to honor those young men and women who will one day be asked to make the ultimate sacrifice. This game is beamed to every base in the world.
I served 35 years… watching Army vs Navy has brought me great pride and joy through the years

Awesome, love to hear that Christopher. That is an amazing service to your country!!
Glad you looked into this particularly special rivalry between Annapolis and West Point, they play for the 123rd time on December 10 in Philadelphia - I hope you get a chance to watch it
The Army Navy game for 2022 is December 10th in Philadelphia Pennsilvania - - Sat. afternoon at 3:PM. It will be shown on US National TV networks/
You're forgetting the games against Air Force for both where this is also true.
I'm so happy you decided to do this I'm one of the people who recommended that you watch the game and experience the history behind it
I went to Navy, I've been to my share of Army-Navy games and I've played rugby against Army.

Or to "How to Read Defense/A Guide to The Basics of Football Coverages" by Xs and Noles.(pass defenses used to trick the QB)
Youu really need to check out George Carlin Baseball vs. Football it kinda ties the military aspect of war.
Unless it's Shane Gillis. Thank you for your service Gilly.
Yeah the tradition is something I really admire about it. Such a long and rich history and taken so seriously. Great stuff!!
Not anymore!! They can now for go serving for playing pro sports up to 6 years! Stupid....

Very moving
Never served in the military, but I always make it a point to watch this game every year. Would love to see it in person one day.

And for the Coast Guard Academy the historical ongoing rivalry was with Norwich University cadets…..

I'm glad you found us. You're quite wonderful!
during the graduation for the Navy shipmen they do flyovers for them its a great thing to watch

This is one of my favorite games. One of my brothers served in the Navy, the other served in the Army, so this turns into a ruthless family match. I just happily stir up trouble between them.
The yearly game is carried on Armed Forces Radio and on tv to ships and military bases around the world so the military can watch or hear the game.

I think you'd enjoy some of the American Military training videos. Like the Marines boot camp at Parris Island. I think based on your sentiments it would hit a cord with you.
No other sport is more closely related with warfare than football. The attitude, commitment and the physicality are very similar, as are the fundamentals of the game (protecting your flanks or attacking your opponents, strategy & tactics etc)
But the mentality is the key. In order to be a good football player you have to play like your life depends on it. You have to sacrifice your time your body and do things that other people just are not willing or even capable of doing.
Go Army
Go Navy
Go Air Force
Great video! You should look up “Johnny football” and do a video on him. Absolutely insane stuff
“Beat Navy” is a legitimate and absolutely acceptable greeting when Army soldiers salute their superiors. Every day of the year.
The Army/Navy game always brings out all the stops when it comes to their uniform designs
Every year the Service Academies Army, Naval (which includes the Marines) and the Air Force Academy play for the Commander in Chief's Trophy. The Air Force Academy has won this Trophy more than the other Academies. The U S Air Force became a Separate Military branch in 1947 it was the Army Air Corps prior to 1947
The wild thing about this game is it gets a week to its self the championship games are thr week before and bowls dont start til a week later
Also Eisenhower and General Patton both played in this game.
It's on December 10th this year! Don't miss it!
