Interesting….. the poster in the beginning was photographed from the roof of our family home. The photos of a kid climbing on the sign at about 6:50 and 7:00 was me (pic by Miles Hochstein). My father almost died cause an ambulance couldn’t reach his house and yet he was always adamant that everyone and anyone who wanted to visit the sign should be able. A special place for me. Excellent history lesson. Maybe it should be mandatory viewing for City Politicians who can’t seem to differentiate between opinion and fact.

They are seriously obnoxious... they live up there near the sign from what it sounds like and what they have to complain about is how people come there to see that sign??????? Ya know, with all the money they have to live there plus the cost of their homes, they could easily sell it and MOVE! But instead they want people to NOT come see the Hollywood sign because it's not actually 100 years old???? I have to know who these two are. I will go to their front door to give them a piece of my mind.

My fathers company, Pacific Outdoor was the contractor who rebuilt the sign in 1978. My brother and i worked on that project that summer. Quite an experience....

Our research identifies Electrical Products Corp (EPC) as the source who electrified the sign. They could have also designed the sign since the lights were installed afterwards and that task needed an understanding of the construction. In addition, EPC was a large billboard company who owned a patent for neon and constructed many large signs/ billboards in CA.

People need to stop destroying history, buildings, landmarks. Everything was beautiful back in the day. Nashville is slowly becoming Los Angeles

Portland Oregon is also becoming San Francisco with It's Homeless Tents along the City Streets.

Forget about the sign, people, and learn more about the environs surrounding it. Thanks for clarifying.

Just watched this after learning about peg Entwistle...these two people sound like the kind of people that would complain about you playing ball out in the street...it.maynot be the original sign but it's an iconic sign all over the world...and just like anything iconic to see it and touch it is normal...you both sound like you have no interest but to complain and poop it's history...negativity is all I got from this.... do you live by it?...annoyed of visitors and tourists maybe...awful just awful..and I'm not even from america!
